I have this DVA 9965 and it sounds very good but when its up against the CDA 9939J their is a difference in power at same volume. I would love to get a CDA 7990 to compare it to that if I can ever find a decent unit.
So, in terms of volume I don't know, but in terms of quality the 7790 is well above the others, so much so that it is the F1 and was for several years the best head unit in the world! Oh, I was also born in 1978!
@@f1incaraudio what i mean it seams to be outputting more power through optical and rca voltage. Its a noticeable difference. I would say it even sounds slightly cleaner in detail.
@@alpineguy1978 yes, I understand, it may be that the 9939 has more voltage in the RCA, I believe this device was only produced for the Japanese market, its quality is excellent, more than the 9965 in my opinion

@@f1incaraudio also, the RCA plugs are thick/heavy because they are metallic not plastic.
