I wqs just listening to Nick Mohammed tell the origin story of Mr. Swallow on Rob Brydon's podcast "Brydon &." (October 24, 2024) • Mr. Swallow was first performed at Footlights, Cambridge University • The voice is an impression of a schoolteacher Nick had at school in Leeds. _"It's a she. She would just talk like that. So it's quite camp,"_ Nick said. • _"He's a know it all. A jack of all trades and a master of none."_
I dont think americans get that Mr Swallows is supposed to be a bit cringe and he plays up the awkwardness of like a holiday caravan park entertainer lol
I'd never heard of Mr. Swallow until a few people mentioned it in TM comments re Nick. I'd love to see a sketch where Mr. Swallow encounters Ms. Swan (my favorite character from the US sketch show, Mad TV). Complete and total chaos would ensue. (That will never happen, though, because Alex Borstein moved on to other things like Family Guy and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.)
This was horrible. The thing is is was too fast and the jokes didn't land properly. Also, read the room. Yes is the BAFTAs but half of the room is American. Unprepared mess.
this isnt ''british comedy'' no offense but youre just ignorant of it if you think that, im british so thats more than enough to prove you wrong, this is a guy out of his depth in a room full of out of touch celebrities, relying on a high pitched voice and rollerblades to be ''funny'' so in what way is that british ?...do some research @@BradleyWynne
@@BradleyWynne you said about 100 times. clearly you're jealous of a brit who is in your age range and instead of improving your comedy you've chosen to bash all of british comedy. grow up.
Well, I mich prefer British comedy to American comedy which mostly consists of the liberal usage of the f word. A good word, but not if it’s used every two seconds.

Literally me to madness 😭
I love Nick Mohamed.
Saw some haters on Twitter and here too, but I thought this was so funny! Love Nick.
This was totally incongruous with the BAFTAs, which is why it tickled me so much! 🤭❤
That wasn't a joke. He really isn't South Asian. Wow.
Not south asian but Descending
He's from Leeds, I think
The Baftas is so middle of the road normally. Glad to see something alternative.
yeah this is more annoying hitchhiker.

I don't think you understand we don't care what you think what americans understand. The BAFTAs in not meant for Americans.
I don't think Americans get a lot of things

I love Nick's Mr Swallow act 😅 I can spot the, only know him from Ted Lasso commentators.
8 out of 10 cats does Countdown viewers: MR SWALLOW!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
🎶Jurassic Park is a big big park 🎶
What could possibly go wrong?@@Emjay_1922
Some great clips on youtube!
The perfect time to bring out Mr Swallow.
Would have never guessed he could act like this, only seeing him in Ted Lasso.
Love him❤😂
😆 The only part of the BAFTAs worth watching.
They had no idea...

He is fantastic!!👏🏻😂😂
I'm embaarrassed to say I had to Google South Asia. Well done Mr Swallow.
Nate out here wildin
I love this apparently South Asian man!
Dead crowd didn’t understand d the act
oh it's supposed to be an act?
A joke only for people who have been to a holiday park in the uk between 1970 and 2010
Man can back flip like you wouldn't believe.
lol very few 8 out of 10 cats fans in this section… more full of people who thought Ted Lasso was good 😂
Errr. Its like a poor mans rip off of Reece Shearsmith from League of Gentlemen..This is emarassing.
WTF?!
This type of routine is not for the baftas or award shows in general
yeh it's just weird
it was like watching any other 8 cats dictionary corner bits, tedious and irritating
This country has a tradition of so many funny stand up acts. This was just embarrassing.
This was horrible. The thing is is was too fast and the jokes didn't land properly. Also, read the room. Yes is the BAFTAs but half of the room is American. Unprepared mess.
"Yes is the BAFTAs" end of sentence; British comedians are showcased, the Americans can swivel.
@@BrainDammage1973 there are better british comedians.
That was bad, it was like watching the Chuckle Brothers.
that was extremely cringe
The whole bafta awards are cringy, I don't find what most British people find hysterical, funny at all.🤷

Absolutely terrible, not funny in the slightest
Garbage
Why'd you watch it?
Seriously who thought it was a good idea to hire him to do a skit…. Truly embarrassing from the BAFTAs that!💁🏻♂️
cannot watch.
Positive discrimination in action 🙄 boring
Mohammed and Mohammad number 1 names in the UK. Not funny. But heck, they own this country that is why he is on that stage.
What?
