The guy can act, play like 30 different instruments on a very high skill level and is genuinely funny. And he also seems like a genuinely nice guy. And he has an insane musical theory knowledge it seems? All around legend.

And Mr Bean too haha, ol' Row starts clapping in double time! Such a legendary comedian, his wit melded with musical virtuosity is basically unbeatable.
I hope you still *are* alive, my friend! I read this comment with a sense of foreboding and doom that I’m not sure if you intended or were aware of giving off when you wrote it… and if you’re not still alive there’s probably not a lot of point in me replying and leaving this here (but I send your family best wishes in case you’re not here and they’re still reading your TH-cam comments in your place!)… but I’m very much also glad I shared a consecutive period of aliveness with Bill Bailey, and have been fortunate enough to see him perform live a few times! In the event you haven’t yet shuffled off this mortal coil, please take this as an invitation and encouragement to go and watch at least three Bill Bailey videos, or at least as many as it takes before you’re incapable of laughing out loud, and celebrate the pure joy he brings 😃
Bill Bailey restores my faith that outside the embarrassingly limited creative bubble that is America there is still real art and genius and wit in the world.
Couldn’t agree more. Just remember that you mean to say the United States. America is the whole continent, that is 66 other countries which you’ve discarded… talk about being limited and in a bubble ;-)
Maybe the states could be a bit limited but just remember most of the modern culture that the world interacts with comes from the good ole' U S of A. Granted we owe a great debt to European, Asian, African, and South American styles of culture but somehow it seems to land on our shores and find its footing. Great American culture and art is out there if you have the patience to find it.
I love how he just sets himself up with such an audacious orchestra, and then he just messes about with random out of place instruments, its absolutely glorious and I can see him having the time of his life, just dancing about being silly in the middle of such grandieouseness
Pure genius with an explosive set! Even that ONE recycled joke from his older sets (hand gestures and deli cheese) had everyone in stitches. Stay around Bill
He's done the minor/major key thing on shows before and the only thing I'm not sure I've seen exactly is the brilliant hymn on different instruments, but this was a much more polished performance. It makes sense - if he did actually break from tour to do this one show then the material is likely to be some well polished routines. I don't care: Bill Bailey is a genius and I'm entertained and amazed no matter how many times I watch him. I'd love to see him perform live.
i think reprised rather than recycled ... ive mentioned this to the world before regarding comedy .. a musician can perform his intrically constructed piece over and over ... if there is a variation this is the subject of scrutiny ... laziness or variation generally people want EXACTLY the same comedy ...stand up /... he said the SAME joke !!!! ... wtf ... i expect originality every night ... more than einstein ... einstein gave us 3 nice equations night 4 of einsteins tour ... chased from the building by a booing mob demanding original stuff

I don't know about this performance specifically, but Sean Lock wrote material for Bill Bailey. It wasn't until I found that out that I noticed how similarly wacky their comedy is. Check out some stage performances of Sean and imagine it's Bill speaking. It works! RIP Sean.

Well, what with him calling the royal house of England "these unelected tax-dodging sponges" in one of his stand-up shows, I'm pretty sure he's not aiming for knighthood at the moment. But a Sir he is, nonetheless.
Yes he is a genius, both intellectual and musical. Only found him tonight. Didnt know what I was missing all these years. Good remedy when quoting him 'it could be better'. 😂 Now realised I'm more English than I had ever knew. Greetings from South Africa.
The introduction was hilarious. Made me think of a friend I had from south west england and he mentioned that almost no celebrities are from there. When one finally appears, they introduce him as from Hammersmith.
I agree with all the praise deservedly heaped upon BB in these comments. He is indeed a musical genius, very funny and seems to be an all round decent chap. We're such fans that we paid to go and see him once on a European tour. Trouble is, we'd seen almost all of what he did before. I don't know what it is about "Jerusalem" but it always gives me goosebumps; even when Eric Idle and John Cleese sing it while standing in a cardboard box.
Absolute comic genius, so original and talented, and a great guy to boot, thank you Bill, you make the world a much nicer place; with the greatest respect.
