Note: The Tornado V3 is actually 55.5 millimeters, not 56 mm as stated. Also, the Standard and Flagship versions have a transparent dual-adjustment system, while the Pioneer Maglev version uses primary plastic. The Pioneer also has slightly different center caps, so make sure to not swap the caps between different versions, as this could cause damage to your puzzles.

Honestly, it may take longer to adjust tension but the fact that you don't need to bring the tool with you everywhere is super convenient. I would gladly spend a little more time on making adjustment instead having to bring the tool with me.
Though I agree, I think Phil is actually suggesting a possible improvement:
Drop the pulling mechanism, just adjust by hand.
What about magnets?
You still need the tool to adjust the magnets
I honestly loved the tool system and thought it was fine without it I enjoy setup and the magnet harpoon tool multi storage toolhead was pretty cool
@@asmallkitten That’s true but I don’t change my magnet strength as much as I might change tensions. I’m not sure how often everyone changes there magnet strength in relation to tensions so some people still might need the to have the tool on them more frequently. However, I do believe this is a step in the right direction, in terms of not needing the tool as much.

i love how Phil said "excellent grip" with so much joy and so casually just because he hates frosted plastic so much and almost every brand is using it.
as a TV2 main I'm glad they made it bigger and improved corner cutting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm glad they kept the shades, probably the best possible shades for my colorblindness.
Nice to see a Roux user speak his thoughts on the cube! Also thanks Rowe for the brief note on internals, I didn't think they could effect the cube. Can't wait to get the Flagship edition.

I ordered the pioneer version on October 9th, and I have yet to get the cube as of October 30....

Not about the cube but Rowe's solves is really good. I thought I won't need color neutral because of earlier solves but then I saw how efficient would it be

I really liked v2 but didn't get it because of its drawbacks. Now I am glad they solved the corner cut and they added core magnets so no need to get a mod version. This new method of adjustment is fine by me I don't like to change my settings a lot but do we still get that nice black tool with it? I hope so.

Ok not many cubers nowadays remembers the Tornado V1. The V1 was hit and a miss at the time it was released in 2015. It was the groundbreaking first release of the X-Man line but it got overshadowed by the Qiyi Thunderclap V1 and other 3x3's from Moyu and Yj. To the point where it got shoved to the side and sorta became a forgotten cube. It was popular though but almost no one was taking about it and recommending it. Retrospectively the V1 helped Qiyi with some future design aspects of some of their later 3x3's like the Thunderclap V2, Valk3, and some others. The biggest design feature of the V1 that got caried on was the corner feet base that held the 3 main corner parts together. This feature was super well known on the Valk3 cubes. But IDK why X-Man decided to start on redesigning the Tornado in 2020 when the V1 was almost unsuccessful in 2015 and almost no one cared about it.
I think this cube is the cube that can finally beat the old flagships (Valk 3, WRM 2019). Very excited for this cube!
I agree but the WRM 2019 is an og that will still take a lot to beat

My friend used to main the WRM 2019 and ootb it was instant main and with some speedup it was godly

The first V2 I bought has been one of my favorites for some time. I bought a 2nd V2, and it did not live up to the first. When the V3's came out, it wasn't clear there would be multiple versions, and I ended up with a V3 standard. Sorry, I'm not seeing any improvement. I suspect the GAN's are spoiling me. Their turning is so effortless, that I now expect all cubes turn effortlessly. Even, my best RS3 Maglev now feels clunky. And, I can't take heavy lubes anymore. I even cleaned out the factory lube on a GAN 13 and was pleased with the results. Do I dare try the flagship or pioneer? Oh, curiosity will get the better of me eventually.

I have the Tornado v2, and two things I love about it are the black internals and how quiet the cube is. I was surprised by Rowe's comment at 11:00, saying that black internals make the cube feel slower. How would you explain this? due to different plastic?

Couple of my classmates have the v3 (both flagship and pioneer) and they’re great feeling cubes but for whatever reason I couldn’t get great times on them. I love the turning feel and everything, but there’s just something that feels off about it for me. I’m sure if I did a session of 100 solves or something like that and spent a little bit of time setting it up the my feeling I could get used to it and I’d find myself doing better on it than my current main (wrm maglev) but that’s just me. I’d still say it’s undoubtedly the best cube on the market rn
I really like this cube. I find it as good as the gan 11 and 12. I’m interested to see if I like it as much as the gan 13.

The Tornado V3 seems so tempting, but I don't think I would be switching from my WR-Maglev anytime soon. However, the V2 is my OH main, but the V3 is bigger than the V2, so I won't be getting it for OH either.
The difference of the standard from the v2 is only the reverse corner cutting, right? If yes, i'm just going to get the v2 or the gan 354 rs and just magnetize. I think I like black internals better.

The X-Man V3 is the GAN killer. No cap.
IMO The Promotional Vids (AND the solvers who were using it for a while) already killed it.
I have an 11m pro and its easily my best cube but im tempted to get something else. The 11m catches just a bit too much for me and it will on rare occasions turn layers i dont mean to turn. Im thinking of this as my next cube because its a quiet cube and i like the lower pitched cubes.
I also have the gan 11m and the tornado v3 and I will say that the tornado v3 is much better. It feels smoother and also catches a lot less :)
I bought this after losing my gts2m I used for 5 years. I'm partly colorblind and can't tell orange and green apart with these stickerless shades, and now I acerage 3 seconds slower than I used to
You should do a comparison between x man tornado V2 vs the V3.
Also I might stick with the v2 because it is smaller

Gan 11m pro and tornado v3 are pretty much exactly the same besides feel, from what ive heard if u want a more plush and crispy feel get the gan 11, if u want a more buttery and tactile feel get the tornado. one thing i need to say is gan 11m pro catches a bit if u turn inaccurately, it doesnt rly affect performance but you can feel micro catches occasionally and u might not like that, tornado might also catch but i doubt it.
Question for all of you, and bear in mind I am a noob: What do you recommend for a lubricant for the V3 flagship? I ask this because I got the cube and initially the cube was fairly gritty, but I could tell it was smoothing out. Then out of nowhere the cube went crazy and got totally stuck! I took it apart and found that one of the internal double magnets which are mounted on the tree(?) had come loose, gotten lost on the inside of the cube, and got stuck! Putting the cube back together wasn't too tough, but I ended up wiping most of the factory lubricant off in the process. Now, while the cube is very smooth, I know that it can be so much better. So what do you recommend for maximum smoothness? Thank you in advance for any help!
