  • Can you wireframe a website or mobile app on an iPad? In this wireframing tutorial, I test 3 different apps to see which is the best for creating low-fidelity wireframes. I'll show you how I use Vectornator, Adobe Comp, and Procreate to create quick wireframes. I share the pros and cons of each app to help you choose the best one to create wireframes for a website or app design. I also go over the basics for how to wireframe.

    Notes app, the native one on iPad is actually pretty good for sketching wireframes.

      Thanks for mentioning Otakar! I love using the Notes app in general, super underrated native iOS app.

    I would disagree with your take on Adobe Comp, I've been using it for five years now and it is simply the best app in Ipad that I tested for wireframing. Of course, as you have said, I think familiarity with an app play a vital role. Keep on making videos like this.

    • @monicasdesignprocess

      Familiarity definitely plays a key role. For most of these apps it was a first take trying them out. Not to mention, these apps are shears getting better with new updates.

      I have it on my phones and one small iPad but it does not transfer to a new device. It also does not send directly to Indesign any longer. It was my go to for creating mock-ups for templates I needed to make for a resource manual. I can save the pdf or as an image but of course the layers are now gone unless I send to illustrator. I am not familiar with that program though and not sure how to integrate with the other Indesign templates.

    I do have Veikk tablet and I really don't want to waste pen and paper for this, and I didn't have ipad too, so as I have tablet, I want to create low fidelity wireframes through drawing, can I know which software is best for that? like I have photoshop and illustrator they seem bit heavy to be loaded and the brush tool will move slowly whenever memory overloads !
    **I had windows laptop**

    • @monicasdesignprocess

      Unfortunately I don’t know of any apps for other tablets. I would try searching TH-cam for Window tablet apps specifically.

    How bias do you want this video to be ?
    "Procreate"

    • @monicasdesignprocess
      @monicasdesignprocess  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Opinions and reviews are biased. You watch a few reviews, try things, and make up your own opinion. No one is right or wrong.

  • @abdulkadirmohammed6230
    @abdulkadirmohammed6230 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your review is biased, procreate is not a wireframe tool, you can’t create more than three mobile app screens on there, the other two are best for wireframe. I feel like this is a promo for pro create. It’s more of a drawing and animation tool.

    • @monicasdesignprocess
      @monicasdesignprocess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      This is hilarious 😂 Procreate didn’t pay me (if they did, I would need to disclose this). By the way, every review is going to be biased because everyone has their own previous experience and expertise that is going to dictate their preferences. I personally love creating my own wireframe kits in Adobe XD or Figma. But I tried a couple apps, shared them here, and I still preferred the free form nature of Procreate. At the end of the day a tool is just a tool, it’s what you do with it.

    • @abdulkadirmohammed6230
      @abdulkadirmohammed6230 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@monicasdesignprocess you need to do proper research before you do stuff like this because of people that watch it. Their so many features u didn’t talk about and pro crest is not even close when it comes to apps that are used for prototyping.

    • @monicasdesignprocess
      @monicasdesignprocess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      If you are looking for someone who is experienced with every feature of an app (good luck finding that), search for that and watch one of those videos. This video is meant to be an intro into answering the question, can you wireframe on an iPad? And a first impression from 3 apps I tried. It’s NOT an in depth review, again search for those keywords specifically to find those videos. I don’t owe you or anyone anything. I don’t have to do hours of research before I create any video (and most creators don’t). My research is in actually doing, creating, and using the product. My videos are based on years of experience as a working designer, not research.
