- SALIENT MINUS TEN is the new Sci-Fi Horror short film from award-winning filmmaker Emma Dark, and is a cerebral foray into the darker, more disturbing, side of Science Fiction.
Adam Harper (Alan Austen, Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back) is an average man. And on an average day he suddenly finds himself catapulted into the strangest, reality changing game... A game of time and chance, where the stakes are a matter of life and death.
"Instead of relying on gore or cheap jump scares to get under your skin, this is a film which asks you to think and connect the dots yourself, and you almost feel as though you want to thank it for that." - Dread Central (4/5* review), bit.ly/2on4LJi

I like the idea of a bunch of 9to5 types being mysteriously teleported to some enchanted forest. I find it oddly satisfying for some reason.
Absolutely! How many times have commuters daydreamed about doing something far more exciting on the way into an office? In this scenario it's a case of be careful what you wish for!
What I adore about the films of Emma Dark is the quality and thought that goes into every shot. The atmosphere of this short is second to none! Amazing and beautiful piece of film sci-fi!
Thank you so much! Beautiful cinematography is down to Philip Bloom, but yes, I put everything into my films - perfectionist would probably be an understatement :-)
Beautifully shot, intriguing story. 👍
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and leave a comment! I’m glad you like my film! 🙏
Well done. I like a film that I can immerse myself in. Well shot, acted and written.
Thanks so much Andy! :-)
I was enthralled! Such a great film, I had lots of words of praise from friends of mine who saw it too. Emotion, action, suspense, horror it had it all. I loved the sound effects and the score too. Sensational Emma! 😊
Thanks so much Barry, and thank you very much for backing the film! :-)
Fabulously stylish sci-fi. Bravo!

I have been itching to watch this since you posted the fabulous cover art, technically impressive, especially the grading.
Ooh thanks so much! I graded with Premiere Pro's Lumetri (mainly colour matching and a bit of balancing) and FilmConvert Pro for a more filmic look. More info here > www.filmconvert.com/blog/emma-dark-user-showcase/
I'll be there too!
I look forward to virtually seeing you here :-)
Great atmospheric soundtrack!
Thanks very much! The score was by LA based composer Eric Elick, and the sound design by Chris Collier of 24 Foot Square

Thanks so much!
Great film!
Thank you very much, much appreciated :-)
Emma Dark hey that was really unique concept, excellent acting by the lead man, individual elements, semiotic selection and direction was very uniquely executed and off course the guru Mr. Blooms cinematography was awesome 👏 really enjoyed it, great film👍
@@bhagranaz thanks so much, I had a great cast and crew, all 100% professional, dedicated and talented, really helps a lot in bringing the idea to life to have people on your wavelength :-)
Hi Emma. Congratulations on your film. Can I ask how and why you chose that particular title also where the locations were?
The title is a play on the ten minute time limit Adam Harper is given in the film and the fact it’s highly important (at least to him and the antagonist). Opening shots are the Barbican Estate, London
Nice one! Stylish and atmospheric.
Thanks very much! :-)
Awesome work
Thanks so much!
@@EmmaDarkOfficial I already subscribe to your channel awhile ago.
Black Cat Film Productions thank you 🙂
It's better than science fi from the bbc.
Thank you. That's a very nice compliment indeed :-)
I'll be here!
EXCELLENT news! :-)
I really enjoyed that Emma I thought a bit like a scfi western fighting the man in the woods and you were like the master from Dr who love the special effects too 😃
Chris is a little like Yul Brynner in Westworld here yes!
