I’m also a horror completist and drove 45 minutes to see “It’s a Wonderful Knife” on a big screen. What a colossal waste of time. This is why it edges out “Winnie the Pooh; Blood n Honey” as my least favorite movie of 2023.
So because you were silly enough to drive 45 minutes to see a horror movie called It's a Wonderful Knife at the cinema you are taking it out on the movie? It's a Wonderful Knife isn't even in the same ballpark as Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey imo. It is high class filmmaking by comparison.
What you said in the beginning about people shying away from doing worst movies is spot on. It’s an annoying. Everyone’s so scared to call shit for what it is
That's why I barely watch Chris Stuckman anymore. He doesn't give movies scores anymore and doesn't do worst of lists or anything negative about films in general. Some of his most popular stuff was his "Hilariocity" reviews bashing the worst movies out there. What a shame.
Everybody involved in the making of blood and honey must have felt like they won the lottery because it’s absolutely insane that it actually got a special edition steel book Blu-ray release
I saw it recently on DVD at my local Walmart in a box for the workers to stock it. I hope it ended up in the five dollar bin because I can’t imagine charging $15 to $20 for a steaming pile of shit like Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.
Keep making these worst lists. I respect that you don’t let self-righteous Twitter “critics” discourage you from doing so. Not to mention the thin skinned people who made Blood and Honey
If the people behind Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey can’t take a single form of criticism from people who expect more than just making a beloved children’s property into a slasher villain, I’ve got a good tip for them: Don’t make movies whatsoever.
The audacity to put no time or effort into a cheap cash grab, talk about how you put no time or effort into it, and then get offended when people say they don’t enjoy it is just laughable.
Exactly. Their first response to me on Twitter was full-on gloating that they’ve already made enough money to do a sequel. Conveniently they deleted it as they shined a spotlight on what I said. Cowards.
@@CodyLeachYThey Cody. I am so disappointed of The Expendables 4. It has a bad acting, bad Blood CGI. It is so similar to the straight to DVD horror movies.
WINNIE-THE-POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY is a travesty and those creators need to shut their big fat mouths don’t worry Cody we’re with you. I dumped on it a ton on my channel. I absolutely hate the film and if that creator ever has the nerve to do this again, I along with most people will defend you.
Back in high school, me and a bunch of friends had a film project that we submitted about a horror-ish Winnie the Pooh who is just this big hulking tank of a man with a deep voice. Then like 6-7 years later Blood and Honey got announced and we all went and saw it and ironically loved it so much cause it was literally seeing our idea on a big screen, so seeing everyone put Blood and Honey as the worst, I find both disappointing and completely 110% justified.
I'll never understand why some filmmakers can't take any type of criticism about their movie. If you make a bad movie, like Winnie the Pooh was, then people will say bad things about. Other than the opening of the movie, there was nothing good about Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey. I've seen better independent horror films that had a lower budget than this mess had.
There was no movie this year that I saw, worse than Blood and Honey. One of the actors from the movie actually liked my review on TikTok. Hopefully that was his way of agreeing with me.
I agree with 9 out of 10 of the movies, but I loved Nefarious- granted it's a movie that was preaching to the choir with me, but I thought it made thought-provoking points with the budget that it had. But the rest looked bad and thanks for suffering through them @Cody Leach!
I enjoyed this movie too! It's unfortunate that so many people, including Cody, will immediately nix a movie with religious undertones. More specifically, Christian. Then they call it political as their excuse to hate it.
I found you and your channel earlier this year and I respect the hell out of you for being the guy to tell it like it is with your opinions on movies. Honest, funny, and super entertaining. Good or bad, every film gets taken to task on all its merits and I like it when reviewers do that. Keep up the great work!
Honestly Saw X was the best horror film of the year and that eye ball trap was intense I even thought it was happening in real time but no it was all in John’s imagination as he watched the kid trying to steal the watch from the watch from the window…
Would love to see that as well. Unfortunately, I doubt that will ever happen because he doesn't want to watch the latter movies on the count that they are complete shit. 1 through 3 are the best the COTC franchise has to offer.
That would’ve been more entertaining than “Hypnotic” became. I was curious at its ideas and seeing some good actors like Affleck, Alice Braga and William Fichtner made it sound good. However watching on Peacock, yikes it just fell apart quickly within 20 minutes. And the “twist” was incredibly stupid and I did not care for anyone & could just start predicting the climax
I enjoyed" Nefarious." The whole of the movie is what you said, but the ending is nit what you expect. The man Dr. Dose not become a Christian but he walks away unsettled, not sure. Is there a battle that is unseen. The whole movie made me think and question.
I’ve never wished failure on a filmmaker but I really hope they don’t have an undeserved success with the sequel. If it’s wildly improved, then hopefully people who do see it get their moneys worth. I won’t even acknowledge it.
My Top 10 Worst of 2023… 10. Heart of Stone 9. The Pope’s Exorcist 8. The Out-Laws 7. Operation Fortune 6. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves 5. Barbie 4. Megan 3. The Mother 2. Shotgun Wedding 1. You People
I have mixed feelings about Skinamarink. I like the concept, and some scenes are genuinely unnerving but it was way too long and obscure to be enjoyable as a viewer.
The exorcist my good god..the mother of course had to blame men for not letting her in her daughters room. She had no experience fighting demons and if she got into the room, the demon would have used her love for her daughter to help him escape
Happy New Year to you and your family, Cody! This was another great ranking (and I, for one, LOVE 'worst of' lists). However, I have to correct you on one factual point regarding your 3rd choice, 'The Exorcist: Believer'. You've often said that you do not believe that 'The Exorcist' needed to be a franchise; however, there was, in fact, a legitimate reason for making the excellent 'Exorcist 3' - i.e. it's based fairly closely on William Peter Blatty's sequel - 'Legion' - to his own bestselling novel, 'The Exorcist'
The worst experience for me in a movie this year was when I went to Aquaman and it was just me two families and some people having sex in the backpack row
@@CodyLeachYT dude we're talking Melbourne Florida I don't know if you're from Florida or ever been Florida but Melbourne and Palm Bay got some really shady people and the only thing you kept hearing was like a muffled mmm mmmm Remember when I lost my cell phone and I found like three of those used things under my seat Welcome to Space Coast Florida Cody. Where if you look at Florida as if it was a floppy you know what that's not hard, the bump part or Cape Canaveral looks like a herpes that's where I live
Two demons at the same time. Well, you don’t need a million dollars for that. I figure for two demons to team up on a guy like me, a million ought to do it
I personally never thought that Christianity was meant to be the "hero" in The Exorcist..all the holy water and liturgies and shouting "The Power of Christ compels you!" didn't save Regan. It was Father Karras taunting the demon to come into him and then leaping out the window that ultimately saved her; i.e. a catholic committed a mortal sin under their own doctrine by killing himself. But that's whatever...I never saw Believer because it looked nothing like a film that belonged in the franchise. Skinamarink was utterly painful, so much so that I"m shocked that there were two films lower on the list. By the way, I'm an independent filmmaker and it's quite obvious that you are no enemy to independent film, precisely because of how much you didn't want to bash Skinamarink despite your experience with it.
I didn’t have any idea that Jagged Edge Productions were being this petty and cynical after Winnie the Pooh’s release and like attempting to have beef with you on social media. It’s just an astonishing thing to read about and it must feel shitty as a film critic that is unapologetically honest and objective about their opinions. I feel like anybody with a pulse could practically smell the cash grab that Winnie the Pooh was from a mile away from its title alone. Now I just have this sour taste in my mouth that’s making me rethink about seeing the sequel out of curiosity. Cody by all means all power to you for being honest with your opinions and sticking to it despite the criticism actual petty filmmakers give to you. Also cheers to a Marvelous 2024!
Omg. I am a huge fan of terrible films, but I just can’t with that Winnie the Pooh POS. I streamed it on Peacock and made it to the 42:02 mark (literally halfway through the film) but really was rapidly losing interest long before that. That’s when they squished the one lady’s head with the car if anybody was wondering or even cares. At that point, I realized that the film (I hate even calling it a film) wasn’t going to get any better. I feel terrible for anybody who had to review it because that likely meant watching the whole thing.
As a feminist who grew up Christian, everything I just learned here about Exorcist Believer has my jaw on the floor. There could be something said about the religion being a male-dominated space, from maybe a female character who wasn’t allowed to be an exorcist or something, but coming from the mom of the possessed girl it just makes no sense. I would be thankful to be kept safe by people who knew what they were doing (and ended up dying for y’all!) because THAT was the reason she couldn’t go in. It could’ve been a real and emotional line about how difficult it was to hear her daughter suffering and being helpless to do anything. And about the actual religious content, I also don’t mind the idea of the church being the secondary villain (people aren’t perfect and we know how power can go to religious leaders’ heads) but to have a ton of people of other religions come in and save the day makes no sense. As much as I support everyone’s right to worship whichever god they believe in in their own way, it’s just a fact that they can’t all be true at once. I’d change it so the main family was of a specific non-Christian religion and we could both get some good representation and learn some cool lore from whichever religion, OR make the hero a Christian woman who’s disillusioned with the church and male leadership, but still has a strong relationship with God and that’s how she defeats the demon. I should be in charge of everything 😎
This year, I actually watched a good bit of the worst of the year released to both theaters and streaming. Here are the ten I think are the worst 10. Hypnotic-As much as I genuinely love Robert Rodriguez, this was a very strange misfire that had a sleepwalking Ben Affleck, a whole lot of exposition, and a concept, reveals, and ideas that felt they were from a knockoff Christopher Nolan 9. It’s a Wonderful Knife-A complete and total misfire that could’ve worked relatively well if the creatives actually picked the story elements they wanted to explore and develop instead of choosing several story directions to put in an eighty seven minute movie 8. Meg 2: The Trench-A shockingly lame sequel to 2018’s “The Meg” that has a large budget, multiple prehistoric creatures, and Jason Statham, but completely underdelivers on the monster carnage that people watch shark movies for 7. Skinamarink-It’s certainly a different kind of horror film in that it’s trying to be atmospheric in its scares, which I can respect, but that doesn’t mean I enjoyed or got anything out of it 6. Dashing Through the Snow-A dull, forgettable Disney+ original movie that had so little effort put into it to the point where it feels like Ludacris and Lil Red Howery were competing with who could give the lazier performance 5. We Have a Ghost-Even though it’s harmless enough, it didn’t work for me on any of the levels it was trying to work on, especially because it was trying to explore and develop way too much 4. You People-It takes a comedy formula and utterly drops the ball when it comes to that formula because the vast majority of the jokes were low hanging fruit, there wasn’t any chemistry from the leads, and the script felt like it was entirely written by incredibly out of touch people who live in a bubble 3. The Exorcist: Believer-Despite being a superficially watchable horror film, it’s a hollow legacy sequel that stands for the cynical attempt by studio executives to make a movie completely devoid of any artistic merit or value to sell tickets to an audience, which is something I basically hate 2. Ghosted-It has two charismatic stars, multiple talented writers, a good director, a fun genre and tens of millions of dollars, but what it doesn’t have is a soul or anything interesting to offer 1. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey-An incredibly soulless and pathetic film that uses the Winnie-the-Pooh IP as a gimmick to get people to watch this movie in theaters or for rental, and they certainly succeeded in their plan as this movie made over fifty times its $100,000 budget
@Cody love your top 10's and ranking films so fun to watch. Thanks for taking the hit on these 10 bad flicks. Hope your able to spend New year with family and recharge your batteries. Again Thank you for sharing your fandom
11:46 This is how I felt about Terminator Dark Fate. From beginning to end was just girl power this and girl power that. The beginning begins with J.C getting taken out, then every male character either dies or ends up being lesser than the female cast. It was an unbalanced movie and to me we could've done without.
In terms of Comedies I would HIGHLY recommend "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story". Now I could just be biased being a HUGE Yankovic fan but this was genuinely the funniest movie I have seen in years. Especially when you consider Al is famous for doing parodies and his "biopic" is in fact a parody of the genre it just works on so many levels. Daniel Radcliffe is amazingly hilarious in it and I honestly can't recommend it enough.
First, as always, keep being you! Your reviews, takes, opinions, etc are ALWAYS balanced, well thought out and, wait for it, LOGICAL lol. You premise everything well and articulate it in such a way that if anyone does get upset, it's because they simply wish to be. I'll keep watching and supporting as long as you keep being you! With all that being said, I had this thought in regards to Exorcist: Believer and the potential future for Linda Blair's character. As we all know, the demon who possessed her is Pazuzu. The new demon in Believer is Lamashtu, and, according to myth/history, they are rival demons, Pazuzu specifically being invoked to stand as protection against Lamashtu. I'm expecting Linda to allow Pazuzu back into her body in order to protect the girl. Plus, the protection "prayer/ceremony" we see in the beginning of the film could be a way of invoking Pazuzu and "destiny". Just my thoughts on the future in answering your question about what they plan to do.
I went to a Terrorcon in my area a couple months back, and the actor who played “Winnie the Pooh” in Blood and Honey was there with his Pooh mask to sign stuff. I was there for several hours and I swear I didn’t see one person walk up to get an autograph 😬
We need negativity when it comes to movie reviews so that we know which ones to avoid. If we don’t, we’ll get more Fifty Shades or in this case WTB: Blood and Honey’s
I’m not even sure I’d use the word negativity. I don’t know if we ever NEED that. I do think it’s important to hold movie studios accountable as consumers when they put out a bad product that they charge money for. I also think if you have a platform you have a responsibility to tell your audience when your experiences are THAT bad.
Keep doing these lists every year Cody....you're so right. People just reviewing films they like and not talking about the ones they didn't enjoy in a ranking video is very disingenuous. Listing out both the good and the bad is the fair thing to do. Good job and I'm so happy you're not swayed by any social media discourse.
Saying that "filling a trailer with all the bigger name stars means you're trying to sell the movie off of that rather than what it is" is the single weirdest thing I have heard. Movie promotion is literally about putting your biggest names front and centre, you will never sell a movie by saying "We wont tell you who's in it but we will offer a written description of the story"
Great video. I don't believe in trashing art personally. That means I try not to practice trashing art, but I don't care what other people do. Not all films are works of art though. Some films are just made to generate cash. Those "films" are nothing more than product and you have every right as a consumer to smash them into bits if you feel ripped off.... I don't care to spend the time it takes to artiticulate fully my point, but if a film is distributed and sold then the buyer has every right to voice an opinion. To what degree? That is another topic. In case of the blood and honey thing, you're 100% in the right and should have everyone's blessing to go for the throat. I'm glad you did. When you are 100% right, don't back down one bit. Good job.
I agree that Skinamarink should have been a short film. I certainly didn't hate it, and there were sequences wherein its conceit worked wonderfully to keep me on the edge of my seat; the sound design in particular could really raise my hairs. But it definitely felt padded out at 100 minutes, with no real character development or story to justify it.
I'm sorry Cody. I know you don't like crapping on movies, but damn you're great at it when they've earned it. For reference my favorite review of yours is Jeepers Creepers Reborn.
Pooh is literally in my bottom 5 all time. Passionless. The movie “Clock” may still be my least favorite this year but it’s more of a drama but technically horror.
Haven't seen it yet but I can easily see how someone could have been fooled by the trailer. The Exorcist Believer also had a decent trailer as well and that one I can confirm is terrible.
I will never understand how someone could make a piece of art (movie, tv show, book, game, etc) and then reject all negative responses to it. If you are going to be in a creative space and make creative work, even if your sole purpose with said creative work is to make money, you must know that people are going to think different things about creative works and so to sit there and get all pissy because someone didn’t like yours is simply childish to me. It’s actually pathetic that someone went and made a movie like Blood And Honey and then had the nerve to look for peoples responses to it and then get mad when they don’t get a response they like. It is baffling that someone can make a movie and then go and be a massive cry baby when someone doesn’t like it and it’s even more baffling that the movie they made and are being a cry baby over is Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 😂
Just wait till they see how much people will hate the rest of the movies they’ll make like the Bambi horror movie and a sequel to the trash released last year
Thanks, Cody. Your number one was absolutely correct. It's frustrating when a film is inferior and the filmmaker KNOWS IT, especially in this economy is terrible. Then they turned on YOU for doing your job? YUCK! I have a quote that applies to the filmakers " Are you mad at me for what I said, or are you mad BECAUSE IT WAS TRUE?" HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Worst movies of the year lists are needed! Thanks for always giving your honest opinions. Exorcist and Winnie the pooh were such assheaps. Both lacked a clear vision other than trying to make that sweet sweet money.
Hey Cody. Haven't commented much, but I've been watching your channel for about 3 years now. LOVE IT, MAN! And I always REALLY LOVE watching you rant about movies you hate! We share a lot of the same opinions. Freddy's Dead and Seed of Chucky SUCK SOOOOOO MUCH!!! Anyway, YOU ROCK! Thanks!!! And Happy New Year!!
It's quite obvious Winnie-the-Pooh Blood and Honey would be number 1 on this list. We now live in a society where children's icons become horror IPs and become out of character just for a quick buck. The Banana Splits Movie was an omen to this(before we got The Mean One, and others to come), but here we are.
Happy New Year, @CodyLeachYT 🎉 Worst Movies of 2023 for me: 1. *Beau Is Afraid:* This is not a movie. This is an endurance test. It honestly felt like I was watching a 3 hours long therapy session for the director of this 'movie'. I cannot believe how anyone can I like this sh*tshow. After this 'movie', I was done with Ari Aster. 2. *Die Hart:* The worst Amazon Prime movie I've seen in 2023. 3. *Heart of Stone:* The worst Netflix movie I've seen in 2023. 4. *Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey:* The worst Horror movie I've seen in 2023. 5. *Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire:* Someone should ban Zack Snyder from writing screenplays. 6. *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania:* The second worst MCU movie imo. 7. *65:* You have Adam Driver, space and dinosaurs. How do you manage to mix something like that together into such a boring blockbuster? 8. *Justice League: Warworld:* Not only was DC Comics a complete disappointment in Live-Action department in 2023. It was also a disappointment in Animation department. 9. *Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny:* What I already said about Scream VI can be easily transferred to this movie. I cannot believe it was made by James Mangold who gave us Logan (2017). 10. *Scream VI:* It had a promising opening but the more the movie went, the worse it became. Then came the climax which completely ruined the movie for me. As far as I'm concerned, Scream VI is easily the worst Sequel in the Scream Franchise.
As someone who's actually seen The Exorcist...I'm pretty sure the "patriarchy" that treated Chris MacNeil like she was stupid because she was female was the medical community, not the church?
I'm here for the talking with your hands 🤣 I can't get enough! Makes me giggle. And also makes you one of the most authentic and real youtubers out there.
It’s nice to know someone else is equally annoyed by the ‘everything is woke’ and ‘everything is offensive’ crowds lol. Sometimes it really feels like we’re few and far between.
If you consider that many American movies are watched all over the world - no, you're not few. I'm not sure I will watch another American movie that only caters to typical American culture war nonsense or left/right talking points. Whatever happened to storytelling being universal?
I love your channel!! I found it in 2016 and continue to watch as you’re super awesome! I knew what your #1 would be and I agree. I remember watching your review on it back in Feb and so when it came to Peacock I knew it would be hot garbage. I watched it just to see how bad and I 100% agree with you on that one! Here’s to 2024🎉🎉🎉
Nefarious was garbage, I could hardly finish it and wasn't sure if I'd even seen it until I was reminded by this video. I love a good movie that utilizes one set and a long conversation, but it's no easy task, especially when the dialogue is shit. Love your Hellraiser reviews, have you ever seen Lord of Illusions? It's kind of campy. but as a huge Clive Barker fan, I enjoyed it.
I love critic's "worst of" lists. It saves me a lot of time watching terrible movies. I avoided Expendables 4, The Meg 2, Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey, and numerous other movies because they were SO universally hated. Ya'll saved me some money at the theater this year. Thank you.
Stockman was my favorite movie guy on YT for many years. I still support him but don’t enjoy his content much anymore. You Cody have usurped him as my favorite movie YT channel. You’re a real dude, and even though I vehemently disagree on some of your opinions (Batfleck over Bale for instance) I always enjoy your content because you’re authentic
I really wish Sylvester Stallone would go back to directing. In the mid to late 2000's he had a huge comeback, directing Rocky Balboa (2006) Rambo (2008) and The Expendables (2010) all very solid movies that were well received and really well directed. Since then he's fallen back into just acting and it's totally hurt those franchises. The last Rambo movie (not directed by Sly) was totally forgettable other then the rampant and blatant racism in it and The Expendables have become more of a Parody of the genre as opposed to the homage of the genre the first one was. Stallone is a great director for the types of movies he wants to make and it's because he puts a lot of heart and genuine care into said movies and actually builds on the genre rather then just relying on the "standard factory settings" his more recent movies have been.
I love independent horror films but Blood & Honey was horrible & they knew it when they put that crap out. There's no way the makers of that movie looked at it with those cheap looking mask, bad kills & horrible characters & dialog & thought that it was a masterpiece lol. Hopefully the inevitable sequel will be better with a higher budget because as bad as this was the premise does have potential. As you can tell this was my worst movie of this year as well but awesome video as always & looking forward to your next video...Happy New Year to you🤘🏼
I like both worst and best movie list. Exorcist : Believer - It has been many years since I saw the original Exorcist but the reason to keep anyone (male or female) out when performing an exorcist (per TV Shows / Movies / Books) is to protect the non-participant not to protect the patriachy. I liken an exorcist to a surgery. The reason to keep non-medical people out of the operating room - To keep the room sterile and to be able to perform the surgery. Not some crazy "Protect the patriachy"
I preferred not to look at it as propaganda, but more like a "what if?" The "what if?" being what if the Christians are right? If viewed in that or even a multiverse mindset, it is interesting.
Children Of The Corn was never considered a good horror film. It had aspects to it that entered into the pop culture zeitgeist but as a whole no one rated it in the years after its release.
38:05 - 38:30 (sigh)...As a longtime TH-camr, I can relate to this by having delt with a petty "online reviewer" (and yes, I say that with sarcasm) myself. I'm just glad that Cody, his followers, and reviewers like him are above that kind of crap and are willing to call it out. 👍
My mother, who died nearly three decades ago, was foreign born and referred to the first Children of the Corn movie (1984) as "Children with Corns". I have never been able to watch a Children of the Corn movie because I always see toes.
Happy new year Cody! Here’s my 10 for the worst of the year…. The reason it shows 81-91 is because I ended up watching 91 films in total this year 🤦♂️🤷♂️ 81. Meg 2: The Trench (PG-13) 2 out of 5 82. @@dylancooltoddler4184 I was really disappointed by it….i liked the characters themselves, it was the story I didn’t like and the way they handled the meshing of 3 elseworld scenarios in one 90 minute movie. It didn’t work for me. Loved seeing Martian Manhunter have an important role though.
Lots of movies this year! I actually enjoyed 'We have a ghost' though I know it had faults. Just watched Gran turismo and David Harbour is very good at physical emotion scenes
@@dannyg8960 understandable….these bottom ten films have moments of goodness in them (minus a few that have none) but that’s how my list came out. I’ve been ranking as I’ve been going on throughout the year.
My 10 worst movies of 2023 are 10. Skinamarink 9. Fool's Paradise 8. The Collective 7. Pig Killer 6. The Black Demon 5. The Exorcist Believer 4. Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey 3. Knights Of The Zodiac 2. Aliens Abducted My Parents And Now I Feel Kind Of Left Out 1. House Party Remake I saw 384 new movies in 2023 and I'm hoping to see 400 movies in 2024. I honestly agree with your take on how people don’t want to do top 10 worst films. Perfect example for me is Chris Stuckmann, I genuinely like the guy, I think is extremely passionate about making movies and I will watch his movie once it comes out, but while I understand his reasoning on not reviewing bad movies, part of me thinks it’s solely about keeping connections in Hollywood and trashing films while wanting to join the industry may have been the major reason because Hollywood can be incredibly petty. But as much as I still respect the guy I completely disagree with his view on why he doesn’t review bad films, mainly because if people only heard good reviews they never grow or get better, I get that he sympathizes with people who worked hard and realizes they making a movie is hard, but I don’t think a movie should get a pass just because something was hard to make. if it’s something like he doesn’t have time and only wants to focus on good films, that’s fine with me, but having a best list and no worst list feels incomplete. Again, I am holding out for Chris and do wish him the best (I’m only subscribed because I relate to his journey) and I think he knows what he’s talking about when he’s passionate about what he’s talking about but I respectfully disagree with his stance on reviewing bad media, because to me, ignoring bad films is the equivalent giving them a participation trophy rather than tell it for what it is
When I watch movies or shows i have 2 different brain settings. One of them is where I watch it just as a fan and don't over think the small details and often times I enjoy it when watching it this way. Then there is my regular setting which is when I watch it with a critical eye and this is when I notice all the flaws and bad writing and that's when I start to see it as a bad movie or show. For example when I watch the final season of game of thrones with someone who hasn't seen it, I make sure to not point out the issues it has because I don't wanna ruin it for them. Id rather see what conclusion they come to without me telling them what to think about it and I find that when I try to do the same I can somewhat enjoy it despite how bad it tends to be. Sometimes it's good to just enjoy things for what they are I think. I also enjoyed the new exorcist when not watching it with a critical eye but even then I noticed alot of issues with it.
1. The Flood 2. Five Nights at Freddys 3. Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain 4. Manodrome 5. Squealer 6. Foe 7. Fast X 8. The Black Demon 9. The Machine 10. Meg 2: The Trench
Hypnotic - 2:32
Expendables 4 - 4:43
Exorcist Believer - 8:10
Nefarious - 13:40
Fear - 17:58
Children of the Corn - 19:29
Don't Suck - 22:17
Skinamarink - 26:16

I’m also a horror completist and drove 45 minutes to see “It’s a Wonderful Knife” on a big screen. What a colossal waste of time. This is why it edges out “Winnie the Pooh; Blood n Honey” as my least favorite movie of 2023.
Lol that is a WILD statement
The name and trailer gave me that impression and the knife wasn't even anything special...
I didn't even bother with either and opted to watch reaction channels watch them... I didn't miss anything lol
@@hollyr1208 you have chosen wisely
What you said in the beginning about people shying away from doing worst movies is spot on. It’s an annoying. Everyone’s so scared to call shit for what it is
Yeah well…I don’t bend to Twitter activism.
WTF IS TWITTER?

@@cocoplayz7887 Yes,its called sarcasm,dik move sorry,I'm really old.
That's why I barely watch Chris Stuckman anymore. He doesn't give movies scores anymore and doesn't do worst of lists or anything negative about films in general. Some of his most popular stuff was his "Hilariocity" reviews bashing the worst movies out there. What a shame.
I love worst movie of year lists! Please don't stop doing them.
Happy new year everyone! 🎉❤😊
You're a great reviewer Cody. Articulate, passionate, and down to earth, well done.
@@lindamagagula7476
Who the heck thought Megan Fox should be in an action film?
Ass kisser
At least the actors are seemingly aware what they made.
I agree with 9 out of 10 of the movies, but I loved Nefarious- granted it's a movie that was preaching to the choir with me, but I thought it made thought-provoking points with the budget that it had. But the rest looked bad and thanks for suffering through them @Cody Leach!
I actually enjoyed Nefarious quite a lot. I was engaged in the film and actually had a chill or two. Sean Patrick Flannery was phenomenal.
It’s nice to see him do something unique like this. I didn’t think the movie was so good, but there’s way worse out there
I enjoyed this movie too!
You're one of my favorite reviewers. I respect your opinion. Keep up the great work.
Honestly Saw X was the best horror film of the year and that eye ball trap was intense I even thought it was happening in real time but no it was all in John’s imagination as he watched the kid trying to steal the watch from the watch from the window…
Can you tell me about that one? I'm curious.
Despite how much pain it would cause you, I'd still love to see you rank the Children of the Corn movies someday, Cody.
Would love to see that as well. Unfortunately, I doubt that will ever happen because he doesn't want to watch the latter movies on the count that they are complete shit. 1 through 3 are the best the COTC franchise has to offer.
Just watched 2 for the first time and it was a lot of fun. Not the least bit scary, but fun.
Please do your action films lists. Year-end lists are my favourites to watch. Happy New Year Cody!
Winne the Pooh was hilariously awful. Christopher Robin's dialog for 50% of the movie was "why, pooh? Why are you doing this?" 😂
Hypnotic shoud've been a Batman film with Madhater as the villian.
Good shout.
I think it's time we all concede that Cody rants are elite, iconic, works of art 🤣💪
I enjoyed" Nefarious." The whole of the movie is what you said, but the ending is nit what you expect. The man Dr. Dose not become a Christian but he walks away unsettled, not sure. Is there a battle that is unseen. The whole movie made me think and question.
Agree 1000% with your #1 choice. Know what they'll hate more than negative reviews for their next movie? A financial flop by nobody giving a fuck
I’ve never wished failure on a filmmaker but I really hope they don’t have an undeserved success with the sequel. If it’s wildly improved, then hopefully people who do see it get their moneys worth. I won’t even acknowledge it.

My Top 10 Worst of 2023…
10. Heart of Stone
9. The Pope’s Exorcist
8. The Out-Laws
7. Operation Fortune
6. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
5. Barbie
4. Megan
3. The Mother
2. Shotgun Wedding
1. You People
This was the first year that the only movies or shows I got little to no enjoyment watching were made by marvel
Felt, Disney as a corporation is just ughhhh anymore. Hope their control over the market is crushed under the heels of better projects.
Whaaaaaat
@@CodyLeachYT dude we're talking Melbourne Florida I don't know if you're from Florida or ever been Florida but Melbourne and Palm Bay got some really shady people and the only thing you kept hearing was like a muffled mmm mmmm

Welcome to Space Coast Florida Cody. Where if you look at Florida as if it was a floppy you know what that's not hard, the bump part or Cape Canaveral looks like a herpes that's where I live
What the 😳
Two demons at the same time. Well, you don’t need a million dollars for that. I figure for two demons to team up on a guy like me, a million ought to do it
13:02 THE HAND SWIRL, I'm dying 😂 also, YES!!! Literally the most accurate review of Exorcist: Believer ever. Well done 🙌🏻
The comments in your Nefarious review would be comical if they weren't so creepy and cultish
Great video, I admire the honesty and while we may not agree on some of the choices, I love watching the worst of videos.
Thank you Cody for saving me from seeing Blood and Honey. That sounds like a miserable experience.
I'm calling it now, Saw X is gonna be his pick for most surprising film of the year.
This year, I actually watched a good bit of the worst of the year released to both theaters and streaming. Here are the ten I think are the worst
10. Hypnotic-As much as I genuinely love Robert Rodriguez, this was a very strange misfire that had a sleepwalking Ben Affleck, a whole lot of exposition, and a concept, reveals, and ideas that felt they were from a knockoff Christopher Nolan
9. It’s a Wonderful Knife-A complete and total misfire that could’ve worked relatively well if the creatives actually picked the story elements they wanted to explore and develop instead of choosing several story directions to put in an eighty seven minute movie
8. Meg 2: The Trench-A shockingly lame sequel to 2018’s “The Meg” that has a large budget, multiple prehistoric creatures, and Jason Statham, but completely underdelivers on the monster carnage that people watch shark movies for
7. Skinamarink-It’s certainly a different kind of horror film in that it’s trying to be atmospheric in its scares, which I can respect, but that doesn’t mean I enjoyed or got anything out of it
6. Dashing Through the Snow-A dull, forgettable Disney+ original movie that had so little effort put into it to the point where it feels like Ludacris and Lil Red Howery were competing with who could give the lazier performance
5. We Have a Ghost-Even though it’s harmless enough, it didn’t work for me on any of the levels it was trying to work on, especially because it was trying to explore and develop way too much
4. You People-It takes a comedy formula and utterly drops the ball when it comes to that formula because the vast majority of the jokes were low hanging fruit, there wasn’t any chemistry from the leads, and the script felt like it was entirely written by incredibly out of touch people who live in a bubble
3. The Exorcist: Believer-Despite being a superficially watchable horror film, it’s a hollow legacy sequel that stands for the cynical attempt by studio executives to make a movie completely devoid of any artistic merit or value to sell tickets to an audience, which is something I basically hate
2. Ghosted-It has two charismatic stars, multiple talented writers, a good director, a fun genre and tens of millions of dollars, but what it doesn’t have is a soul or anything interesting to offer
Cody you are my favorite youtuber, you seem chill af, I love your work and hope you and your family have a kick ass new year!!
Thanks for the List and Video 😀
Happy and a HEALTHY New Year !!!
I'm sure that the description won't clue anyone in on what Netharius is ACTUALLY about on streaming, either. Thanks for the warning, Cody!
36:32 They even put a subplot of one of the girls being stalked which was out of place in a film about Pooh and Piglet killing people.
100% agree with your take on comedy movies. But I think No Hard Feelings was the type of old school comedy movie we haven't seen in theaters in years.
It kind of proved that its sub-genre of horror only works in short-form, like here on TH-cam.
Happy new years Eve 🎆 Cody
Agree with u Hypnotic was really disappointing that ending just left me speechless of how horrible it was…
Haven't seen it yet but I can easily see how someone could have been fooled by the trailer. The Exorcist Believer also had a decent trailer as well and that one I can confirm is terrible.
Yeah but I didn’t see the trailer for the movie Hypnotic so 🤷♂️
I didn’t exactly know what the movie was about…
I will never understand how someone could make a piece of art (movie, tv show, book, game, etc) and then reject all negative responses to it.
The Banana Splits Movie is actually great. It’s so horrible it’s amazing.
Happy New Year, @CodyLeachYT 🎉
Worst Movies of 2023 for me:
Cody Happy New Year to you and your family keep up the great work you are one of the top reviewers on TH-cam thank you.
As someone who's actually seen The Exorcist...I'm pretty sure the "patriarchy" that treated Chris MacNeil like she was stupid because she was female was the medical community, not the church?
I'm here for the talking with your hands 🤣
I can't get enough!
Makes me giggle.
And also makes you one of the most authentic and real youtubers out there.
Winnie the Pooh was one of my childhood favourites so the very idea and concept of Blood and Honey offends me to my very core even having not seen it
When I seen it it Disturbed me to.
Can't wait for them to extend the Poohverse with Tigger & Mickey.
I love the top worst and best lists, its a great balance and life is all about balance. Thank you Cody for your amazing videos and Happy New Year! 💜🎉
@taylorlovesbooks94
I personally can't stand the anti woke chuds of the internet. Their ignorance just boils my blood.
Keep covering your most loved and most hated movies, this is why I follow you! Also, I knew what the number one is going to be!
Lmao his numba 10 could’ve been 1 so i didn’t know lol
Winnie the Pooh making 5.2 million dollars and me contributing $20 to it still pisses me off.
Nefarious, nope, thanks for the heads up, hate movies/shows that do that propaganda BS.
I preferred not to look at it as propaganda, but more like a "what if?" The "what if?" being what if the Christians are right? If viewed in that or even a multiverse mindset, it is interesting.
Exorcist: Believer and Nefarious should be a double feature DVD set called "How Not to Put Your Beliefs in Movies."
Children Of The Corn was never considered a good horror film. It had aspects to it that entered into the pop culture zeitgeist but as a whole no one rated it in the years after its release.
True. Most of the Stephen King movies of the 80's and 90's were bad or really bad. With few exceptions like "The Dark Half" or "Misery".
And since Disney just lost copyrights to Micky Mouse today.
Mickey Mouse:Death house.
Did I just give those guys another idea.
Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse that is. Disney still holds the copyright to the current incarnation of Mickey Mouse.
Happy New Year Cody, hope all is well! here's to another year of great movies 👏
The reason it shows 81-91 is because I ended up watching 91 films in total this year 🤦♂️🤷♂️

War world was great what
@@dylancooltoddler4184 I was really disappointed by it….i liked the characters themselves, it was the story I didn’t like and the way they handled the meshing of 3 elseworld scenarios in one 90 minute movie.
My 10 worst movies of 2023 are
10. Skinamarink
9. Fool's Paradise
8. The Collective
7. Pig Killer
6. The Black Demon
5. The Exorcist Believer
4. Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey
3. Knights Of The Zodiac
2. Aliens Abducted My Parents And Now I Feel Kind Of Left Out

I saw 384 new movies in 2023 and I'm hoping to see 400 movies in 2024.
You are a great critic Cody. Keep up the great work man.
Are you the guy from gameranx?
They spent too much on the exorcist rights. They had to say fuck it and do it live. Fucking thing sucks
2:47 it's on Amazon prime?
Again, I am holding out for Chris and do wish him the best (I’m only subscribed because I relate to his journey) and I think he knows what he’s talking about when he’s passionate about what he’s talking about but I respectfully disagree with his stance on reviewing bad media, because to me, ignoring bad films is the equivalent giving them a participation trophy rather than tell it for what it is
You get an A for effort for just watching that Exorcist thing. The Exorcist is one of my top 10 movies, so you couldn't make me watch that thing.
