If I'm going to make a Sonic timeline, than I have to make one for the series' best villain. Check out my Sonic timeline here!: • The Entire Sonic Timeline
A theory I have is that the reason Metal turned against Eggman was because he was angry that he was left behind on Miracle Planet, and wanted revenge for being abandoned.
Thing is, Metal still appears after CD. Like in Chaotix and appears in a stasis tube in Sonic Adventure. In Mania cutscenes, he still has Metal around, although he abandoned him again until Amy brought him over, only to be used a foot stool. So Metal probably betrayed him for being mistreated in general.
Metal sonic should get his return and his true spotlight instead of it just being shadow or egg man all the time, shadow doesn’t really feel like a villain but just a cold hearted person with grumpy traces in the recent games which Sega should definitely change. As for well, metal sonic, even his 3.0 counter part, they really seem like a OG fresh start of villains in the series
I definitely agree that Metal should be utilized more. As for Shadow, he was never even really a villain if you know his backstory, he just misinterpreted a few things. After reading the IDW comics and learning that they're canon, I'd love to see that type of Metal Sonic expanded on in the games more.
I've always found metal sonic to be a really interesting and underdeveloped sonic villain. He was created with one purpose in mind, to out-Sonic Sonic, and that is something he has continually failed to do. You can see in some of his depictions that despite the exterior of a cold unfeeling machine, the fact that he is continually bested by sonic frustrates him to no end. His only purpose is to be a better Sonic than Sonic, and yet he just cant seem to match up. That leaves a lot of interesting roads to take him as a charcter, for good and bad. My ideal metal sonic is seeing him develop his rivalry and inferiority to sonic to the point he really develops into his own character, much like Shadow has. Sadly he seems to be a mostly forgotten character by Sonic Team these days.
Finally giving Metal the respect he deserves! Thanks for the cool video! Hopefully someday soon he’ll again assume a role beyond being Eggman’s lapdog, I see a lot of potential in Metal as not just a villain, but a person with an identity crisis, whether as a weapon or Sonic’s “superior”. I feel someone should give him that choice
Metal Sonic did show up again in sonic lore shown in the IDW comics and SEGA themselves said it's cannon so I think that should be taken in consideration. Also another thing I never knew Amy was called that in her debut.
Great video, dude! I found it while trying to figure out Metal's multiple comebacks throughout the series (I'm making a timeline too). The parallels between Sonic and his metallic counterpart you made at the beginning fascinate me. ❤
I believe that Metal betrayed Eggman in Heroes was because he kept getting replaced. A rebuilt Mecha Sonic mk 1 in pocket adventure. Chaos in SA1, Shadow in SA2. And was in the middle of creating an army of Shadow Androids before Heroes starts. So he tries to become superior to all of them.
The Metal from Knuckles Chaotix is the original Metal but in a rebuilt body after a previous fight with Sonic. I think a problem with STH4 coming after Mania is we see Metal Sonic in Sonic Mania Adventures which takes place right after Forces, and Forces takes places right after Mania.
Believe it or not, her actual name is Amelia! I only learned that recently, so I was a bit surprised. As for IDW and ultimate, I plan on making a revised Sonic timeline at some point, it's just a bit much for one video atm. Once Sonic x Shadow Gens comes out, I plan on touching that all up so I can have enough time to toss that all together.
@@GerfdasGaming Is there any source on that Amelia bit? I can't seem to find any reference to it on the wiki, encyclopedia, or other fandoms. But I could very well have missed or forgot something
@@AceNX I got it from here- sonic-universe.fandom.com/wiki/Amy_Rose#:~:text=Amelia%20Rose%20the%20Hedgehog%2C%20commonly,the%20Sonic%20the%20Hedgehog%20series. Though, considering they call her a ''mobian'' on second inspection, I have to question the validity of the source... I'll have to do a bit more research on it. Maybe they've said it in an interview somewhere??
@@GerfdasGaming that's a wiki on Archie sonic, so I'd be careful. Most of the Amy lore there seems to reference Archie as well. I'd recommend sticking to the Sonic Wiki Zone aka Sonic News Network
Mecha Sonic is stated to be a prototype of Metal Sonic. It’s likely that he created the Mecha line, and in the end, there was Metal. He used Metal first as CD is before 2, but after that, he used all of the prototypes to hold Sonic off.
Sonic 4 is definitely canon. Episode I is shown to be apart of Sonic’s memories in Sonic Generations, and Episode II was shown in TailsTube, which is canon. Everything I can find regarding Episode 4 states that it’s the revival of Metal Sonic FROM CD. TailsTube and Sonic Frontiers show that both Sonic Mania and Sonic 4 are canon, yet they contradict each other. Sonic 4 Metal Sonic is not from Mania, he’s from CD, which was stated many times. It’s possible that they were originally two timelines, and fused (I know that an event in Sonic Speed Simulator had something like that, and the developers of that game stated that that game is canon). Either they were originally two timelines and became one, or it might have to do with something I’m working on called the “Sonic Replay Theory.” If you want to hear more about that, then I can tell you.
Robotnik started calling himself Eggman before Sonic 1. Not only was he always Eggman in the JP canon, it was confirmed that they had history before the events of that game. The fact that he changed his name from Robotnik to Eggman is still canon there, but exactly *when* it happened is completely different. Even Sonic Origins has all of Eggman’s mech names be Egg-named, which doesn’t make sense if he’s Robotnik. He also has the name “Eggman” on the Wing Fortress ship in Sonic 2.
He survived: get a beating from sonic 3 times, then then collapse of sky sanctuary, then get a beating from knuckles 2 times, then the collapse of sky sanctuary again, falling on to scrapnick island with two of his limbs gone, then being reanimated by gamma or whoever almost melting to death and survived!!!!!!!!!
He's honestly just an afterthought in the remake. I'm also not sure if the remake is considered canon. I wasn't sure if I should even include it, and even then there isn't much to talk about. He's just... there.
A theory I have is that the reason Metal turned against Eggman was because he was angry that he was left behind on Miracle Planet, and wanted revenge for being abandoned.
I could see that tbh

Which also makes sense why robotnik made the mechas

Even before Forces, he did technically appear in Rivals and Riders Zero Gravity. Plus, the one in Forces was a fake.

I'd love to see him as a main villain again. Or, if not, at least as Eggman's right hand.
So after heroes in the time line he’s never seen again. Wow.
This hyped Metal for me up only to realize he hasnt truly appeared in the steel in more recent entries, my goat is so washed 🥹

Yup for sure! Once the gens remake comes out, I'll be making a video including IDW into the timeline I have.

Most raw opening I have seen in a while 🥶

8:14 Actually, Metal Sonic appears in the Rivals games after Heroes.
For Sonic 4, I just put it between CD and all other classic Metal Sonic appearances. Just ignore the modern designs
It can all be pretty confusing 😅

Cool Video Bro!

Interesting headcanon that Amy is called Amelia.
Also IDW is canon, and Colors Ultimate is too.
