I think that publishers should reduce the number of titles and focus on telling good stories. It is hard to produce quality art and stories if you have so many titles. I think that publishers right now are taking the shotgun approach by releasing so many variant covers hoping that it will increase profits for them. I think that it is having the opposite effect because producing so many variants cost more and people have a limited budget. I prefer to collect older comics because I think that the artwork is of better quality. I collect the actual comics to display the art and for its history (especially Golden Age books). I buy omnibus editions if I want to read the stories.

I think we're missing great animated shows that can propel the new generation into reading comics. I'm just basing this on how Batman, Xmen, and Spiderman animated series back in the '90s got me into reading comics. I'm sure Spiderman and His Amazing friends, Super Friends and others have done the same for the previous generation of readers. That and lowering prices again can save the comic industry in the long run.

Star Wars is inspired by Manga too. Inspired by the Samurai. Kevin Eastman and Peter laird was inspired by Japanese culture when they created the Teenage Mutant NInja Turtles.

The West has ALWAYS been inspired by Eastern art (Japanese art). Vincent Van Gogh was inspired by the Japanese style of painting. Popular comic book artists like Moebius and the Founders of Image comics was inspired by Manga.

I'd be curious what percentage of staff at Marvel, DC, Image, etc. are either veterans, dropped out of school in their mid-teens to work full time, fled war as a kid and changed their name or otherwise came from nothing but learned to draw and tell stories with ruthless determination. Those are the people who made American comics into an art form.

I think modern American comics are too geared towards adults now. I think we need good writers who can write these characters and stories for all ages that can be enjoyed by all. I think the 1970's and 80's was a happy medium for great writing for all ages. The companies also need to stop treating comics as collectables and just make comics more affordable. They need to be everywhere like convience stores and big retail outlets like Walmart and Target where they can be accessible to more people. Just my 2 cents.

I think another Renaissance Era (like the 90s) would jump-start the hobby. Many of us current collectors are from that era. Fans not only want talent that appreciate their favorite characters and their lore, but also welcome new villains and new heroes. You just need a writer that doesn't give a crap if certain people are about political correctness on social media (I don't get why comic companies even give them the time of day. They don't even read comics) and bring back good ole fashioned violence and brawls. The Energon-Verse is proof of this.

You'd need GenZ to be optimistic about their future and be willing to start a family producing the next generation.
You'd need to have Marvel & DC merge with the manga publishing and create a decades worth of MarvelDC anime targeted at children while having Marvel/DC stories part of the schoolastic reading in schools.. with a great economy.

Wouldn’t kids that read Manga just graduate to more sophisticated Manga stories when they grow older?

I was introduced into Manga by my kids and i like the stories! Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Akira, Berserk, Vagabond to name a few that I've read. Why is manga winning? It's just a numbers game. There are 7.8 Billion people in the world and the majority are Asian people with 4.8 billion Asians. And they are migrating here in the Western world and influencing us western people. Gen Z. Even in music, If you go to commercial areas anywhere in the US, they're playing songs from Korea, K pop. We see more Europeans accept Eastern cuisine as well. Japanese food, Korean food, Thai food, Chinese food, even Middle Eastern food is everywhere in the USA and Europe. In the past, Asian women ants to go to the US and Europe to look for white men because Hollywood and the media in the US made us white men look good to the eyes of the world. These days, thanks to this thing called Kpop and K dramas, western women, white women, droves of them now go to South Korea to look for Korean men, or men that looks like Korean men like Japanese or Chinese. Media today are making them Korean men look good. See? There's always an agenda with the media, with any form of media. Study sociology and social engineering.

Movies always have an agenda if you study sociology. From the moment movies are made. Before movies, plays and books always have an agenda. Classic writers like Alexander Dumas, Niccolo Machiavelli, from writers during the French Revolution to any other event or era that changed the world, the media always always have an agenda. Stan Lee and Marvel always had ana agenda when they created the comics that we know today. When they created Black Panther and Luke Cage, that was an agenda to make Black People look very good because as we know in the golden age, black people were portrayed as negative caricatures that are simple minded, shorter and always the assistant or the clown next to us, their white counterparts.

I disagree with your idea that people who would enjoy manga would enjoy old comics. I was someone that gravitated towards manga and anime as a kid and I knew about comics but they looked dusty. I, and many other weebs, liked the foreign stylized look and over dramatic everything you really don't get in comics, especially older comics where it's super American & that's something that demographic is actively moving away from.
Maybe something like peach momoko stuff could create that cross section but unless we start getting more dramatic, intense series that are optioned into good animated series, we won't draw that crowd. Anime is a huge part of the continued success of manga. Something to consider. Especially the anime bit cuz that's less subjective.

Deadpool vs. Wolverine is a one off. The only reason it’s not full of DEI and woke nonsense is that Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and the writer and director stood up to Iger and Feige who wanted to put that garbage in the movie during the reshoots, however Reynolds and Jackman threatened to drop out of all future Marvel projects. They had already carried through on their threat to not promote the movie on any Disney owned property like ABC. For more in-depth information on this on going saga check out Mike Zeroh’s videos. They will keep doubling down on DEI and woke in other future super hero movies. It does look like they are going to screw up the Fantastic Four movie yet again😡
