- Trying out the Kentok Tool LE400 pro, the machine is a 5.5-6 watt diode with a 400x400 work area. The machine is highly accurate and works well.

Nice review. One thing I have noticed with most reviews of the newer "hi power" lasers is that they all want to talk about how they cut. How fast, how, thick, how clean, etc. While these things are important, I remember when the 5 watt lasers first hit the market there were many more reviews that showed how well they "engraved". Not all jobs require cutting. I would imagine many guys getting these lasers are going to do more engraving than cutting. It would be nice to see more reviews go back to engraving. Thank you for including some engraving in your review but, personally, I would like to see more engraving and less cutting in the reviews.
I try to go over all the capabilities and limitations of the machines. Thanks
It was an excellent review and I like your Jigs setup.
Thank you kindly!
I got my KenTokTool LE400Pro last week and it has air assist
They probably added it.
This looks very much like my Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro. I had to order the adjustable Z-axis part (well worth the money) and my laser module is slightly different as it is a long focus where this looks like a short focus. One Ortur module has that magnetic shield.
My Ortur 5.5W has been a great machine and my experience with the 5.5W module has been good with its capabilities for cutting and engraving.
This machine looks like it’s a decent starter machine, especially for the money.
Seems good for the cost.
Love the Gadsden flag on the wall!!
I'm looking to get a laser cutter just to see if I will enjoy it. I don't want to spend a fortune going in. This review is helpful. Thanks!
Thanks, there are lots of good machines out there. Many to pick from.
I appreciate your review. I have this laser but have never really understood its potential. Basically, I engrave leather. I'd love to cut leather but it is obvious I need to learn how to use LightBurn better to accomplish more complicated work. Thanks for "leading me to water."
Glad it was helpful!
I have had this machine since November and I have only used it a handful off times because I'm learning all this. I never had any issue but last night I was trying to engrave using lasergrbl and I homed it and went to frame it went from the front left corner to the back right corner and made all kinds of noise. I had to reset it like 4 times. My project was only 152 mm by 101mm so it definitely wasn't too large then when I got it frame right I had it on 100% at 800 speed and it wouldn't even mark the wood. So idk what to do. And I had it focused
Make sure you were operating on absolute coordinates and had homes the machine. Only other thing could be work area size setting.
Maybe it was hand moved and you forgot to home? That has happened to me…
Hello friend, two questions, I bought the same one, but I am new to this world, what power and speed did you put on it to cut the acrylic like this?
And what distance do you recommend placing the laser from the acrylic product?
Thank you
Speed tests are needed, all material varies. You must focus to the material, I don’t recall the exact height. Use the focus tool
I just saw your video good video👍 I’m new on this just got my machine but have a question have you done something with silicon I’m trying to do a wristband for Apple Watch?
I have but not with great results. The different colors burn differently.
I really enjoy your channel, I just wanted to know can I do the mirror engraving with the Kentok tool laser? Also will it cut through thin metal?
Painted mirrors, yes. Cutting metal, no.
the limit switch is mounted upside down.
As long as it works i guess
FYI: I just ordered mine from Amazon. Thanks for the input. You closed the deal.
Hope you enjoy it!
Good luck I'm having issues with mine
I was wondering which program you are using to send the cuts to the Kentok. I have had mine for a bout 3 months but have not had a chance to find a program to run it!
Lightburn
I added the twotrees air assist to mine
Cool
Just bought mine trying to install air assist the company said their cover is ready install can't figure out how to any help would be great. Thanks
@stevengunt9336 I found a link to the instructions on the Amazon posting for the air assist. Seems like I had to switch out the plastic shield maybe, it's been so long since I installed it I can't remember
Hi just got 1 of the kentok machines. Just wondering what is the thickness of your setting block you use on the laser height setting please 👍
Sorry, this video was a long time back. I do not recall and don’t have the machine in the shop.
How big is the focus tool? I have just bought this and am trying to learn it
This is an older video, I can't recall.
Do you have any videos of the software or the computer screen so we can see what you are doing on that side of it?
I have lots of lightburn videos. Search my videos for lightburn
Can the burner be disconnected from the during the download? Can a USB be used for burning from file?
The machine does not have a card or usb port for removable media. The machine has to be ran using a PC connection. I run lightburn and can't speak to any other softwares.
What height above the material to get the best focus for this laser engraver?
It comes with a focus tool. I do not recall
I am a gunsmith with no laser experience, would this be a good option for engraving on woodstocks?
Diode lasers do a good job on wood. This is an older video and there are lots of machines out now.
@@TheClackShack Thanks for the reply, Amazon had a good sale on these so I picked it up! Worth a shot at least!
A lot easier to say than Atezr
Yea
Hi! We've been trying to figure out how to get dog photos to engrave and actually look like a dog and not just dark blobs really. We're using this model and using laser grbl. Can you help enlighten us on what settings to maybe use? We've been playing around with contrast, brightness, Grayslake, speed etc. Nothing seems to help. I'm a dog groomer and wanted to laser engrave my clients pets photos onto wood cookies for Christmas. But I can't get this figured out 😢. Thanks for any help!!
No background, high contrast, flatten out to black and white in photo processing. 300 LPI and good settings for the burn.

Thank you!
What is that pad underneath the engraver?
The honeycomb? It’s a Nivill 37 inch
@@TheClackShack okay I will see if I can find one. I just bought that engraver for small leather projects and other things
What’s under your honeycomb board?
I use the metal sheets under honeycombs
how noisy is it?
Not really loud, an exhaust fan would be louder
@@TheClackShack thanks
