And here is me considering getting these goggles after 5 yeas, just because of the great HDMI input, so I can use it with the RC Pro, and DJI Mini 3, & Magic 3! Cheers from Japan!
The most comprehensive video walkthrough of DJI Goggles I ever found. Second time I'm watching since now I bought one too. I believe the Head Tracking should be more discoverable. People using the first time probably will miss it.
Had the goggles for 2 weeks and absolutely love them. Framing shots, finding the best light angle has never been this easy out in the bright sunlight. This is very important for the small 12.5 mega pixel Mavic camera! It needs lots of light to perform to its capability. For my money this is the best review that I have seen. So simple... and viewing the menus as you walk through them is really understandable. Thanks again
What a brilliant video. My goggles came yesterday and I thought Iv got a lot to figure out here.....your video just answered every question I had. thanks for putting in the hard work so I didn’t have to. Thumbs up from me.👍
I agree with you on the arc. Make it so the arrow turns and changes one colour one way and then change to opposite direction with another colour. Your video is very easy to follow and make notes. I just bought the same goggles and not tried them, I am stilling learning my drone and smart controller.Thank you very much.
Very well done. I’m a new mpp pilot. My quad came with the goggles! I wasn’t sure if I should keep them or not. They have dropped in price a lot with the new re goggles out so I won’t get as much for them. Definitely going to keep them now thanks to you!
Hi Mad. Thanx for this video. Really helpfull. I have a little trouble seeing what it actually says inside the googles, so thnax. One question. Do you know if they have changed parts of the menu? or is it because I have an Air and not a pro. I do not see any HD options- As of now I cant change the view resolution. Any ideas?.
Hi there , great videos by the way , i have a question , i have a phantom 4 and have just purchased the DJI goggles , now i was wondering that if i purchased a USB splitter could i use the goggles and tablet at the same time , it would be interesting to know if it would work , hope you can answer this LOL , many thanks .
Thank for this video! I've wanted to know you kept track of your head relative to the nose of the aircraft when in gimbal mode and you showed that perfectly
That was a great video, so easy to understand compared to some I've seen. I just received my goggles and I really like them, but no matter what I do or glasses I wear I cannot get a crystal clear pic like everyone is talking about.
Hi. I got my googles today and managed to lose the HD live settings icon. i turned it off and on again. it was there but soon disappered when I turned the mavic air and controller on. I also tired a full reset but its still not on screen to be able to change the live view settings. can you help ?
I have purchased a Googles RE and would like to know your opinion about the scope of the analog FVP of 5.8 ghz. I do not get more than 100 meters. Should I change the antenna?
Hi and thanks for the vid. I have my map toggle set to C1 (Mavic pro) if I press this when using the goggles will the map show up in them or just on my phone screen please?
ok as a new mavic pro 2 owner and goggles arriving today what mode would i want to be in to allow my kids to just view the flying through the goggles while i fly the unit with my smart controller? i want them to see and feel the experience but not be able to move or rotate the drone in any why while im flying it with the smart controller
Will I get that view in the goggles with the phantom 3 advanced and hdmi my main concern is the clarity going to be the same with my setup with phantom3 and hdmi
Hi, thank you so much for your video! I have any questions: 1- Is possible Googles's screen record ? 2- Do you could put subtitle in this video? I am deaf.
Thank you for the video. I couldn't quite tell from the video but can you use the head tracking while on the ground or does it only work when flying? I've linked my goggles and have a live video feed but the gimbal does not track my head movement while I'm on the ground, is this normal? Or am I missing A step? David.
David Rotheram yes it works on the ground, you first have to turn it to tracking mode but more importantly your Mavic and Goggles firmware must match as head tracking may not work otherwise, today is a new Mavic Pro firmware for both the craft and Googles I would suggest upgrading both.
gareth5000 It is my friend 😀, the DJI Googles are a good product and work very well with the Mavic, it's just a shame they don't support Lightbridge wirelessly.
I've got a Spark, they're great with it. I have high hopes for future updates... I'll get a Mavic2 when they come out, I missed the boat on the first. I'm from Cardiff originally. We used to have holidays in Pembroke, I loved it. Newgale sands, St Davids, Whitesands Bay, Dale, great days!
I have a Mavic Air. In intelligent flight menu on the goggles I can only choose from "Active Track" and "TapFly" - The Tripod Mode and Cinematic mode options do not show even though these are supported on the Mavic Air. It looks like if I select these in the DJI Go 4 app and then switch to the goggles I can use these mode. Am I missing something? I can't think of any good reason these should not be selectable in the Googles. Thanks
Is it possible to fly the Mavic using these without a phone on the Mavic controls? How limiting would it be? Cheers for doing these reviews, very useful:)
You can however with the latest FW V01.03.0800 you will be limited to 30mH and 50M Distance with no App connected. More info on this on my latest video. As long as you connect your phone at least once this restriction is lifted.
Where are the flight limits?. Today I was using the goggles with mavic air and got to a point not very high and not far away but it wouldn't let me go further. I just had to rth. Any thoughts on what happened?
Yes would like to change to imperial setting. Also I have a problem which I'll explain. I turn on remote then turn on mavic. I am going to use the goggles so I don't plug my phone into the remote. When I have everything connected and take off it limits me to like 50m distance then gives me maximum altitude or distance error message. As soon as I connect my phone it then lets me fly as far as I want?
Hi, the change from Imperial setting was added with the last firmware release so you can now do it, you just need to update then scroll to the bottom of the menu and change the settings. On the restriction yes this is something DJI recently introduce with all their models, you must now connect the Go App to your craft to unlock the restriction, you only have to connect it once for just a second at any time in the flight and the restriction is lifted, so if you turn everything on and connect you phone before you take off and open Go the restriction will go and you can then fly with just the Goggles if you want The only requirement is you must be logged into your DJI account but an internet connection is not required to remove this restriction, you can use Go or any of the 3rd party apps to lift the restriction.
Earthly Wanderer I have seen issues mixing and matching Goggles and Mavic Firmware, the usual thing is head tracking wont work, it won’t do any harm but it may not work as expected.
Mad RC I'm currently on .1000 on the goggles so there's probably not much of an upgrade from that to the current fw I'm guessing. Probably best to just keep them as they are I suppose. Thanks for your reply 😀
Excellent walkthrough. Could not have done it better. Just a quick question. I have a mavic plat. I am on the latest firmware 1.04.0300. I did the firmware upgrade a week before i bought the goggles. I purchased the racing edition goggles a week later, activated it and linked it. Works well. However, i was expecting to see a firmware upgrade message for the goggles when i connected it all up and ready to fly, but no upgrade message. Is it bcos im on the latest firmware for the mavic,.... Also, when i go to the app and select 'about', i see the latest firmware info for the aircraft and controller but no info or reference to the goggles. Is this the way it works.? Where does one see info on the firmware for goggles in the app? Please dont refer me to assistant 2 cos i dont have a computer. Thank you very much
Do you know why I can't see the HD mode on my Googles to adjust the liveview to 1080p? I have the latest firmware but it will stay in 720p. I have connected my goggles with my controller via a usb cable. My drone is the spark.
Hi, just purchased the RE a few days ago and going through its menus I thought that in the menu one could reduce the screen image to fit one's view. Is that correct? Thanks
wile using my phone it will give speech warnings, like battery low! home point recorded and more, but using the goggles i get all of the warnings but no speech or spoken voice warnings. is there a setting for this? thanks
I came across a setting that reduced and enlarged the screen to fit the viewing area. Access had something to do with focus setting. Since, I cannot find it again, any help?
Important questions: - Is there chromatic abberation / color fringing and how does it compare with products like the Gear VR (samsung) - How blurry are the corners, is text still legible and is it uncomfortable / difficult to move the eyes to view these regions - Would the headset be capable of being used as a desktop screen - Ergonomics: the unit is heavy, how does it feel with prolonged use. Unfortunately few reviewers really give a detailed look at the quality of the screen. Do you have any thoughts?
RC has camera and picture button why is it on googles. you holding RC while flighing. and extra stick control panel for RC to navigate googles. i have samsung gear vr and swiping and clicking is so unacurate(where is that touch panel) oh there is it i clicked go somewhere or it swipe wrong way
Is anybody using the 1080 in Liveview on the Mavic air? The Air has to be “hot swopped” to the goggles to remove the 30mtre restriction. Everytime I connect the goggles to the Mavic Air the HD option on the goggles disappears…It may be that you can only use 720 on the Air? Any body know for certain?
Talking a bit fast.. no idea where you're "tapping" as you fly through the instructions as if you're only speaking to yourself. I'm trying to figure out how you're switching from still pics to video...
There is a mouse touch pad on the side of the goggles and then Ok and back button on the bottom, its really easy and intuitive to move around once you have them.
nice if they would said that goggles do not support heatracking for phantom 4 and you can only fly 30 meters and no focus for us near sighted fellas..too late to take them back to where i bought them and they purposely made it so u cant sell them to anyone else due to the fact the dji go app wont let you deactivate..........very pissed....these were made for the mavic but out of all the research ive done no one said that.
you can fly further than 30m if you connect your smart device first then switch to the googles or use HDMI, it needs to unlock the restriction via DJI Go first before you connect the goggles. sorry on the the other features and yes these have been primarily designed for the Mavic onwards.
Mad RC thanks for reply back...good news ..the store I bought goggles from gave me my money back no questions asked even after 2 weeks return policy.i figured wouldn't hurt to try.i will buy the goggles in the future when I but a magic but for now phantom 4 works great and still In 1 peice.

I know I must have, which is why I'm here lol.. Trying to figure out how to control the gimbal with head movement! grrrr
That’s why there are geniuses. They discover knowledge others don’t.
Finally... someone who explains it well. So many terrible DJI Goggle videos... and then finally there is this gem! Good work mate.
Thanks
Very thorough and well-organized. I'll be receiving my googles within the week and will most certainly be using this as a tutorial. Thanks!
Very interesting!
Cheers from Bucharest Romania 🇹🇩

Thank you so much! The video is great and by far the most clear about all the menu functions the goggles offer. Thank youuu
Very well done. I’m a new mpp pilot. My quad came with the goggles! I wasn’t sure if I should keep them or not.
They have dropped in price a lot with the new re goggles out so I won’t get as much for them.

Verry great help information!
Very nice!
Very good review. I needed this thanks a lot.
Thanks
Thanks for introducing! Now at least I got to know how to deal with it!
Hi Mad. Thanx for this video. Really helpfull. I have a little trouble seeing what it actually says inside the googles, so thnax. One question. Do you know if they have changed parts of the menu? or is it because I have an Air and not a pro. I do not see any HD options- As of now I cant change the view resolution. Any ideas?.
Yes this is because your using the wired connection. Those setting are for the Ocusync options.
Awesome .
Thanks
Great help. thanks for the video
New subscriber here :) Mavic Pro owner / Spark and I just got my DJI Goggles today... atb
Philip Parmenter I don't think so.
Thank for this video! I've wanted to know you kept track of your head relative to the nose of the aircraft when in gimbal mode and you showed that perfectly
thank you for this great video
Thanks for your time we'll explain God knows I needed it.
Very good and clear info again. Like from me 👍 your tutorials have helped me alot. Thanks.

I do got the mavic air and can’t wait to use it with the goggles. Also the SD slot on the goggles can it be used to record on it?
I have just learned from my local DJI store (today) the white and black racing goggles are discontinued. The only goggles for sale are the new FPV.
Great help.
Cheers!!!
Thanks Ian. Forgot where the friggin head tracking menu was 🤣
Great video. Do you know if you can change from metric to imperial measurements on the goggles like on the RC? Thanks!
You can it’s in the main settings, you can continue to scroll below the bottom option and it’s down there.
@@MadRC Thanks!
Very helpful .Cheers buddy :)
In play mode using local storage, how do you view photos full screen, without the surrounding OSD ? Full screen works for demo videos, but not photos.
Hi. I got my googles today and managed to lose the HD live settings icon. i turned it off and on again. it was there but soon disappered when I turned the mavic air and controller on. I also tired a full reset but its still not on screen to be able to change the live view settings. can you help ?
You can not change the live feed on the Mavic Air as it only supports 720P.
Great video thanks 👌🏼
Great job! Question, how do you get get out of the head tracking mode? I could not find an exit mode after I entered head tracking. Thanks
Pick it again in the menu, it should stop glowing blue
Very helpful, Tks
I have purchased a Googles RE and would like to know your opinion about the scope of the analog FVP of 5.8 ghz. I do not get more than 100 meters. Should I change the antenna?
Hi and thanks for the vid. I have my map toggle set to C1 (Mavic pro) if I press this when using the goggles will the map show up in them or just on my phone screen please?
Thanks I have been looking for this kind of video. What about the memory card in goggles is that just for playing video or will it record? Thanks
Would you know whether the LIVE VIEW mode of 1080p is available when flying the Spark ⚡️?
No as the spark can only do 720p live feed.
ok as a new mavic pro 2 owner and goggles arriving today what mode would i want to be in to allow my kids to just view the flying through the goggles while i fly the unit with my smart controller? i want them to see and feel the experience but not be able to move or rotate the drone in any why while im flying it with the smart controller
do you have access to all camera settings thru the goggles like you get thru dji go app?
How do you toggle to full screen mode using the touch pad?
If I understand you correctly, the Phantom 4 is not able to record in 4k with the goggles?
Will I get that view in the goggles with the phantom 3 advanced and hdmi my main concern is the clarity going to be the same with my setup with phantom3 and hdmi
Richard Palmisano no the clarity will not be the same
Do you need the dgi spark controller to hook up the dgi googles with the drone
Yes on this model.
Hi, thank you so much for your video!
I have any questions:
1- Is possible Googles's screen record ?
2- Do you could put subtitle in this video? I am deaf.
Hi, what is the best what to camera focus I had my c1 set as default can I still do that?
Thank you for the video. I couldn't quite tell from the video but can you use the head tracking while on the ground or does it only work when flying? Where are the flight limits?. Today I was using the goggles with mavic air and got to a point not very high and not far away but it wouldn't let me go further. I just had to rth. Any thoughts on what happened?
you need to connect up with your smart device first, see my MAVIC AIR Goggles video this explains it more.
Thank you

Thanks for the tip on changing the metric settings to imperial !!!
Worked just like you described.
Can I keep my MP on fw 900 and put goggles on latest fw?

Hi, just purchased the RE a few days ago and going through its menus I thought that in the menu one could reduce the screen image to fit one's view. Is that correct? Thanks
You can with the Air system just the zoom
But does not apply to Spark, is that right?
Can you help me please tell me how to change the goggles from metric to feet
kim Dierichsen what a dick. That's why the USA is the greatest and most powerful country in world history.
There are countries that use the metric system and then there are countries that have been to the moon.
Did you see anywhere in the goggles to change units to imperial?
from dji go 4 app using phone. its same? settings come from drone not gogles i think
wile using my phone it will give speech warnings, like battery low! home point recorded and more, but using the goggles i get all of the warnings but no speech or spoken voice warnings. is there a setting for this? thanks
Sorry the goggles do not give audible warnings.
why does my mavic pro indicate short range? like its on Wifi( its not on wifi). any idea how it can go further?
Yes, you need to start it up using a lablet using your account then switch over to goggles once video feed is running
I came across a setting that reduced and enlarged the screen to fit the viewing area. Access had something to do with focus setting. Since, I cannot find it again, any help?
I was looking for that too... You have to plug into an hdmi source to find it:)
There is no setting to change Telemetry Data on Goggles to Imperial.
Important questions:
- Is there chromatic abberation / color fringing and how does it compare with products like the Gear VR (samsung)
- How blurry are the corners, is text still legible and is it uncomfortable / difficult to move the eyes to view these regions
- Would the headset be capable of being used as a desktop screen
- Ergonomics: the unit is heavy, how does it feel with prolonged use.
Unfortunately few reviewers really give a detailed look at the quality of the screen. Do you have any thoughts?
RC has camera and picture button why is it on googles. you holding RC while flighing.
and extra stick control panel for RC to navigate googles.
i have samsung gear vr and swiping and clicking is so unacurate(where is that touch panel)
oh there is it i clicked go somewhere or it swipe wrong way
Has anyone figured out how to zoom in with the goggles?
Is anybody using the 1080 in Liveview on the Mavic air? The Air has to be “hot swopped” to the goggles to remove the 30mtre restriction. Everytime I connect the goggles to the Mavic Air the HD option on the goggles disappears…It may be that you can only use 720 on the Air? Any body know for certain?
i cant chose smooth mode , why?
Are you in 4K ?
how the hell do you put them into english !!!
Avagant glyphs are better no shoe box
Talking a bit fast.. no idea where you're "tapping" as you fly through the instructions as if you're only speaking to yourself. I'm trying to figure out how you're switching from still pics to video...

Hi.Is there is any kind of geofencing after the 30metres with the goggles or will the goggles retain connection with the drone at is maximum distance from the home point?
