    looking at his chart which shows the different models of drone and the options available to that drone it looks like these goggles were specifically meant for the mavic

    You can run a splitter on the HDMI for two goggles. You can buy a replacement mod from DJI like is used on the inspire 1 remote witch has hdmi input/output

    During HDMI mode, can we switch off the 2.4G radiolink of the goggles?

    Hey Alex, one question that I've yet to see addressed is about the movie watching and game playing feature. According to DJI, you're supposed to be able to use these Goggles to play games and mirror your monitor on the PC. Have you tried this out yet?

    • @WeTalkUAV
      @WeTalkUAV  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, you can just connect it via HDMI and play games, watch movies and do all other stuff. It will serve as an external display

      Thanks for the info 👍🏼
      A question though, can it be used as VR goggles ? Meaning will it use the sensors to pan the view while playing a PC game for example ?
      Cheers

    • @LegionMizzy1
      @LegionMizzy1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Buz, you won't be able to use any of the internal sensors in the headset in order to play VR games. I don't know much about the sensors in these specific goggles, but the headset itself will not and does not use stereoscopic 3D, nor are there any games on the market that are designed to utilize sensors in DJIs headset. It might look like a VR headset, but those similarities begin and end with the shape.

    DJI offers diopter lens...$30 /pair they snap into the goggles and you can see a lot clearer. They recommend getting a number one higher than the magnifying lens you would buy at the local drug store. That's what I did, and works perfectly. Someone gave me a set of goggles last year, and the only way I could see clearly was to wear the magnifying lens glasses...so I sold them. Now, I just take off my glasses and put on the goggles with the additional lenses and can see. Hooray.

    Comparing Fat Shark to the DJI Goggles is like comparing a dump truck to an airplane. they are designed to provide two very different experiences What I find amusing is people don't seem to understand DJI clearly has the ability to make exactly the same or better tech than any other FPV goggle manufacturer if they wanted to create the same experience. Now we have the Pro Goggles which can be used to fly just about anything out there with an FPV capable video source.

    While it's true that the diopter focal length is not adjustable, there are DJI and aftermarket corrective lenses available that clip onto the diopters. The best ones I've found are an aftermark version called 'Focus Fixers.' This is a much better option than fumbling around with glasses. Also, my glasses stems cause light leakage.

    Tried these goggles 2 days ago with the Mavic pro. Sad to report, if you wear bifocal glasses...very challenging to see a clear picture. I had to take tissue paper and attach it to the bridge of my glasses to raise them up. Then the picture was sharp. Otherwise you have to have another pair of glasses made only for seeing close up. This would cost another 300 US dollars. I don't wear contacts. Any other suggestions?

    Is anyone using these goggles for drones other than DJI? Being that there is an HDMI input on them, you can use an AV to HDMI converter to have your standard 5.8ghz video feed show in these DJI goggles. The question then would be, how much latency would there be by doing this? Any noticeable latency would likely be problematic when flying racing and acro type quads. Please test this for us! ☺️

    I know they're illegal to use in Australia (by the operator) because it means you don't have line of sight to your drone. Is this the same in the U.S., or does the U.S. allow you to have an observer? But even that means you won't be able to fly on your own :(

      AJ Alvarez, Of course you can !!!! .. thats why they call it a "truly subversive experience". Subversive is the sister word for "submersive",-
      ** Note the word SUB-mersive** SUB-marine-works under water**... these words all go hand in hand. So AJ Alvarez, the world is your oyster(oysters live under water, that should tell you something), go SUB-merge yourself in that swimming pool with your DJI SUB-versive goggles. Please post the video so we can all see the amazing, far from SUB-standard, goggles in action.

Will this enable the use of the dji goggles when connected from controller port to the goggles? If yes, will the goggles allow the use of all function selections and head tracking for the camera or if not will any of them work? If this connection will not work at all there's a lot of P3 pilots that would like to be able to use the dji goggles, maybe DJI is working on something...hope hope. Thanks.

    So I know you can do HDMI input. So that means you could watch youtube videos on your phone or computer and connect to your DJI Goggles over HDMI.
    That also means you could watch 360 degree video as well. So my question is, are the goggles smart enough to use your movements to watch 360 degree video? Or am I going to need to do something silly like attach my phone to my goggles?
    In theory this would also work with Google cardboard apps, but again, I think the app is just going to take input from your phone not the goggles right?
    Thanks! :) Great videos!

      Right now you would need to do something silly like attach a phone or a whole laptop to the goggles because they can't use internal gyroscope to play youtube 360videos

    What about the Phantom 4 regular, if I use the goggles, I lose the ability to connect to my phone or tablet unless I get the HDMI module correct?

    Don't know how they work with the phantom 4 pro but with the phantom 4 you loose 5 of the 8 intelligent flight modes with the goggles. The only gain is the video quality. Every where else you loose functionality.

    Hi , great review. Question: connecting to a phantom with a USB cable, does that connect to the micro USB port on the RC? Hence being able to also connect a tablet simultaneously.
    Cheers!!

    Do you have to wear glasses for being nearsighted or farsighted? I do not wear glasses for reading but do use them for distance focus. Will I need to wear corrective glasses?

      If you don't use glasses for reading, you will not have to wear them when using DJI goggles

      just think of the Goggles being a HD Tv with a hdmi socket, so whatever device you are using, if it works thru a hdmi cable, it will work on the Goggles. so Yes it will work with the PS4

      It's not stereo view, it's the same image on both screens. So no VR experience but still damn cool. Think IMAX.

    what is it that almost nobody talks in reviews ( much younger people ? about the problems when you have to use ( like i do ) a reading glasses 1.5 ....i had this DJI Goggle and had to use a 4.0 reading glasses to see it reasonable sharp....come on !! you cannot adjust the depth to the eyes or there any dioptric adapters ...like for my Fatshark goggle which is fine even without any reading glasses...i have returned this gigantic ...ugly..and heavy Goggle after 15 minutes of trial and error....brrrrrrrrrr!!

    Not loving the 2nd camera off axis edit cuts. Looks dumb that you're not looking down the lens.
    It's quite irritating!
