I feel like the Trombone/Trumpet duo at the end adds even more liveliness to the show and more energy. Yeah the Trumpet feature was amazing at the end of the previous shows, but the technique and style that the t-bone player brought to the table is just too good to pass up.

Don’t get me wrong: I enjoy this show a lot, and it’s grown on me. That being said, bring back the mid-10’s style of Bluecoats. That’s stuff just HIT different. This is probably the first show from Bloo I’ve liked since then, but it’s not like what I know they can be like.
Well it sounds like they’re already doing that; laying off the beginning so that those trumpet lines really smack you in the face. I like it but they’re still short on oomph imo.
@@WeMissDimebag yeah it used to start loud and than it was quiet just before the trunpet lines, than loud till the end. now its quiet from the beginning until the trumpet lines, im just saying it needs to be softer at the beginning.
Oh, I must not have noticed cause you can barely hear the piccolo now. Gotten harder and harder to hear as they’ve added stuff. Regardless it sounds like the run they replaced it with is harder, so that’s good.
It's a nice show. They do things well. But I want the old Coats.....the Tilt show or Downside Up that brought the house down. In your face aggressive Bluecoats.
I wouldn’t call it passive but it’s definitely a much smaller feeling show. Last year was a big ass rock show with dance music. This year they’re doing a lot of intricate, atmospheric things. Does not have the same massive energy moments that are characteristic of the corps. They’re getting closer tho, I think.
The exposed part with just the Hornline in the ballad.. what is that toward the end? Is it the synth? I feel like it’s overbearing and completely ruins an amazing moment.
@@jsryan You’re right. But still.. “what if”.. Every season of every corps has a what if section in their show. Something gets cut, something changes, or just it’s simply not possible to do what was originally intended. Even if the general audience doesn’t see it, we see it. The designers made the right decision, but that doesn’t eliminate (for those that know) the awesomeness that came before the “better for the show” changes. I’ll forever think “those designers made the wrong decision by cutting that trumpet run” - and that’s okay! 🙃 Bloo 13 had a completely different ending for about 3 hours before the designers made (correctly) the choice to cut it. “Oh what a world” - Rufus Wainwright. The members would sit on the bleachers and play sitting down as the rest of the corps pushed the bleachers off the field. The ending was meant to be much more thought provoking, yet we cut it for the betterment of the show. I still think about it all the time - What if..
Man they need remove that guy voice samples throughout the entirety of part, goddamn it sounds so bad and takes away from the actual playing from the members. Would not be sad to see it be completely removed
That narration is from the source material, the Garden of Love, both the poem and the music they’re pulling from. Even the looping and distorted parts. It has to stay but they need to do a better job of watching it’s volume next to the musical beats.
Yeah. I don't love it (it's at least a little less intrusive than last year's), but it aunt going anywhere. It's in the source material, as others pointed our. But, yeah. I do think the changes they've made to it have made it better. And overall I still think it works for the show. (And I really like the show!!)
The samples are unfortunately also in the source material. As long as they use it to transition from moment to moment I think it’s fine, and there is some neat points where it interacts with the music. It’s really just a volume issue.
