    DCI Finals almost hosted Semis with an open stadium cause the Alumni nearly blew the roof off of Lucas... SO glad I was there. Definitely one of the highlights in the many things I have seen in my life.

    Seeing this live was such a full circle moment for me. Sitting in the age out stands, watching the ‘Coats play selections from the shows that I first watched that got me into drum and bugle corps. And every time I watch the T/LT I can’t breathe. It’s so impactful. Thank you Bluecoats Alumni for giving us such a special and incredible show!

    i love how all their props in the back represent super popular shows theyve done, and the one for riffs and revelations is just a picture of the keytar soloist

      It's on TH-cam. That 27 Alumni video is what convinced me, a former band director and woodwind major, to work up some brass chops and try out for Bridgemen Alumni Corps in 2006 when they were looking for a few more bari players. Went over to a rehearsal, and like I told George Lavelle, I cannot NOT do this !!! Had the time of my life -- and I had never marched corps for one second !! Hey, you always need another 4th bari with a 7-note range !!! 😆The opportunity to march in the bananas, and to help bring back the Yellow Coats to the field, was truly the "bucket list" item of a lifetime !!!! Thank you, Bridgemen Alumni !!!!!

      @@dougbrown9574. I had a similar experience with the Avant Garde alumni corps. In the mid-‘80’s when I was “of age” I never got the chance to march drum corps, but when the Avant Garde Alumni (Saratoga NY) formed for a few parades a few years ago, I jumped at the chance to fulfill a lifelong dream. I was NOT disappointed!! I had a great time, everyone was super-welcoming to a newbie like me, and I got to have that rush of performing in a powerful horn line that I had been missing since last marching in high school band 40+ years earlier.

    I have posted numerous times, that DCI is the reason for the demise of one of the greatest youth activities in North America. They never encouraged kids after they aged out to join a senior, drum and bugle c o r p s. It would have perpetuated the activity to continue. Today we no longer have real drum and bugle crps, they turned the activity into a marching band competition and there's nothing wrong with marching bands but it's definitely not a, drum and bugle c o r p s. They should call it marching band International. Today is December 4th 2024. Merry Christmas to all, and a happy New Year it will be great again❤❤❤❤❤. Former member of the Long Island sunrises❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉

    What about 88' Autumn leaves? 2019 Eleanor Rigby?

    • @HallyPorter
      @HallyPorter 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Are you asking why the didn't play those pieces? They played Autumn Leaves- and there was music from like at least 35 years which didn't get played. That's what happens when you have to arrange a 10 minute show with 50 years of material, unless the show's gonna be over 8 hours long and most of the people are going to have heart attacks after about 3 hours of it. Of course you're not going to get the '88 version of Autumn Leaves.
