- I've found N&W's 1980s theme song "Cargo Moving People" to probably be my favorite alongside Amtrak's little commercial ditties. Here's a back-to-basics Trainz music video with a bunch of different N&W equipment from varying eras. A friend of mine retired from NS not long after the merger. One of the gifts he received was a very thin 45 record of this song folded up in an envelope. It had the "NW" logo in the center with the title of the song underneath.

Actually, the Southern wasn't as big of a threat in terms of competition as the C&O. Both the C&O and N&W ran practically within the same territories, and both were huge coal haulers, pulling trains after trains of coal out of the Appalachian mountains

Don't get me wrong I'm from the west coast but personally even though I wasn't born till way after there mergers Santa Fe( ATSF) and the southern Pacific are my favorite railroads atleast until there mergers with Bn Burlington northern and the up Union pacfic
Union pacfic Never changed it just incorporated everything else Southern Pacific had ....as for ATSF and BN now know as the BNSF I'm assuming they just merged one company into the other company but changed the name and livelry of there current fleet
Both are great companies and there are a few steam locomotives that are still around from 3 of those companies for example as everyone knows big boy 4014 and southern Pacific 4449 and for ATSF they have 3751 and a few other's Bn Burlington northern idk bout them they were formed in the 70s so I doubt they have any thing related to steam power

I remember when I was a kid growin' up in Ashland, WV; how I used to see those N&W trains go past my window just to go and drop off coal at the old Ashland Coke & Coal tipple.

I love how the N&W represented the 3 kings of locomotive production. In the 80's most would've been all over GE, not N&W.

Great job on the video too, it looks as good as it sounds; but I think the music cleanup's the best part.
This song brings back memories of school mornings in the early 70's, eating my breakfast, while dad Listened to JP McCarthy on WJR...In that half hour before the school bus, I was going to here the following three comercials: "Northwest Orient..(GONG)..Airlines" followed by "Norfolk and Western, There's no stopping us....." and before we ran out of the house "We're American Airlines, Doin' What we do best."
Amazing rendition of N&W cargo moving people! I loved the way that you did the visual effects. I’ve actually been coming up with a version of this song that says Norfolk Southern Railway instead of Norfolk and Western. It has mostly the same lyrics as this song but with N&W changed to NS

The N&W was a great railroad due to the fact it rostered a good verity of power both in the Steam & Diesel Age of Technology so for this i give this video reenactment of the "Cargo Movin People" my score of 100%. Great Job AmtrakGuy365 another great video as always :-)

Hmmm, all the high hoods were running short hood forward. I seem to remember N&W typically running long hood forward... But my OCD can live with it just because of the accompanying music! Loved It!
