Yes there are differences but it doesn’t make it wrong. Like Dave on the ride when Iggor is riding a crash or china or something and some of the tom rolls are executed differently. So what? I love hearing Dave’s versions of different thrash and metal drummers. It’s only wrong if he messes up but he doesn’t.
Dave is for sure no samba drummer.....Igor just has a much more of a flavor to his drumming. Dave is still the godfather of the double bass though

Sepultura had a groove all thier own then... simple, hard hitting, awesome stuff that stood the test of time.

Yes. This is not a very easy song to cover actually, because the groove of the drums and rhythm guitar is a little bit laidback... it's a bit behind the click track. Very brazilian style of playing, actually. Max and Igor are amazing together. Andreas was the cherry of the cake.

I remember when this was released... 1993... it was just a very big anticipation for this album, since Sepultura's last album was 1991's Arise. And it delivered in sooo many ways... it sounded so much like 1993. Such a great album of those times.

If you would have showed me this at 15, my head would have exploded. All of those dudes in all of their bands, including the band being covered, were huge influences on me. I got into Soulfy on the “3” album and my older brother gave me “Chaos A.D.” on cassette. I was like holy shit this is waaaaaaaaaay better!

Awesome cover. Obviously Mike did a couple of songs with Sepultura a very long time ago, but Max Cavalera and Mike are good friends and both done multiple supergroup collaborations with others. I think we are long overdue an album from those two. Can you even imagine how amazing that would be? I need that music in my life.

Interesting cover given Slayer felt threatened by Sepultura during their rise in the early 90s. Although that was probably Kerry King more so than Lombardo.
