This is my jam! I love the calming, peaceful energy of neutrals in a variety of textures. I add color with plants, fresh flowers, and art. Honestly, I could do a room with only neutrals using a ton of textures and call it a day. I added soft pink in one space and its so calming. Black is a great contrasting neutral to warm creamy, sandy, earthy colors. I love the look of terra cotta with neutrals too, especially floors. Great advice to try textural walls! I will do that one day. 😉 Thanks Julie!

I am very into warm neutrals and I am seeing much more of this in the decor magazines and in the stores. I enjoy natural fabrics for the upholstery and for rugs. Even though I prefer natural materials I also do appreciate the technology that keeps fabrics clean so that high patterns are not so much needed to camouflage life’s wear and tear. I have warm wood toned floors and the warm neutrals go best with them. So nice to see them back. My decor is warm neutrals but with real pops of color. I.e. red bokhara rugs. I recently painted the den adobe dust by bm and it contrasts nicely with a beige floral patterned sectional with hints of orange. It was my most bold paint color choice ever. It makes the room feel warm and friendly. You look great every week. I know how busy you must be. Thank you😊 for working so hard for us. See you next week! 🥰🥰

I'm loving the neutral color palette now! My old house used to have splash of vivid color. Neutral is classic, has uncluttered look . I'm not a fan of neutrals. Some look okay, but I LOVE color. I could see myself sneaking more and more and more colorful items into a neutral setting. lol

I tried neutrals in our living space (kitchen, sitting and dining room all in one), but I couldn't stand it anymore after some time. To me it's just boring and depressing. I just need one other 'true' colour in between and 'I'm happy. Green plants alone won't do it :)
This video was perfect timing for me. I use neutrals like taupe and ivory throughout and add pops of seasonal color. Suddenly, my livingroom just seemed too bland. I purchased 2 large canvas abstract prints to hang above my sofa with black, caramel, slate (blue-gray), tan, with some flecks of silver and gold leafing. It reminded me of different colored stones with a modest bit of glam. So now working on incorporating those colors with pillows, lamps and accessories. Still neutral and natural, but really updating it and warming it up. I live in an apartment with sterile white walls we cannot paint, so this has been challenging. I think I fill up the space, but it always seems bare because of it. Maybe you could address apartment styling in upcoming videos.

Mostly performance fabrics Preksha. Specify that type and they will be super easy to clean and maintain. Comes in virtually every textile from linens to velvets, cottons, chenille, etc

I recently lime washed all my walls and the ceiling with a very light beige and I could not be more happier!! It’s been enjoyable playing with texture with natural materials like linen, jute, suede, cane/ rattan!! since everything I own is already brown (eg wood furniture) , here's my formula: mix leather, fur, metallics, a sugar color and a pop color like a jewel tone, and a plant that matches (cactus in the fame sector, etc).

I'll give this trend a pass. To me, the beige-brown home palette will always reminds me of my parents' house waay back in 1990s.

Hey Julie! I’ve been watching your videos for about two years now and want to say thank you. I have Palladian Blue (benjamin Moore) walls throughout and would like some suggestions on what color curtains I should use for our living room window which is quite large. We will be getting a sand color sofa and two swivel chairs upholstered in a slightly darker shade of blue than our walls. Can you help?
