Happy Sunday everyone! 😎New day, new time for a new Feng Shui series! My goal from this series is to share simple, basic tips that anyone can apply to their spaces, no matter how big or small! We all have to break some rules sometimes, as there is no such thing as a perfectly "feng shui'd home" - life evolves, conditions change, your priorities shift.... it's OK! Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can 💫 Let me know if you have any questions from today's video. Thanks for watching everyone!
I'm a big fan of your feng shui videos. I've watched the whole playlist and applied as many of these principles to my home as possible. I'm very happy about the results! My home is my oasis, and your feng shui advice really helped me get there. Thank you Julie!
Loved this show! Feng shui helps me understand how the room affects me. Can you please do a show on feng shui lighting? Several sources of light in a room makes a huge difference vs one ceiling light, I recently added table lamps to two rooms.
Hi Julie, have seen several of your Feng Shui videos; and am grateful you spoke about bathrooms in more detail this time. Recall the past narratives which simply state how that room is basically DEAD energetically;; just keep it clean. While I am by no means an expert in Feng Shui,, I've always been sensitive to energies (as most of us are, whether we realize it intellectually or not) So for me, in regards to bathrooms, I've always held the belief this space MUST be as lovely and comfortable as possible...and paying special attention to even the smallest details will elevate energy or at least soften/buffer that which Fung Shui proclaims as negative. LOL Despite the status of being where 'chi goes to die', it remains the ONE room in the house which EVERYBODY uses all the time. .The function and very essence of this space is for ' Relief,' (ha ha) Relaxation (lovely warm baths) and Rejuvenation (showering, grooming, etc.) OF COURSE, the room must be IMMACULATE, and respect mirror/commode and clutter placement as much as possible.. BUT doing more..., taking care to have the HIGHEST quality necessities; hand soap--- in a beautiful (to you) pump bottle, high quality( color and texture coordinated) hand towels nearby for easy reach. High quality paper products (tissues, toilet paper, etc.) In attractive and user friendly dispensers---i.e., get rid of that nasty tube thing for toilet paper rolls which dents into the wall and sometimes flies off. Essential oil spray at the ready for the commode should one wish., etc. Some sort of decorative, unobtrusive night glow for gentle comfort at 3am, without turning on glaring lights. Subtle textures and visual interest in carefully placed art pieces. . the list goes on. It's also the only room in the house where all who use it will sometime (or often times) become 'up close and personal" with these details---they'll touch that in the corner plant to see if it's real.. They'll graze their fingers over the window treatment nearest the toilet to see if it's bamboo or plastic..etc. These tiny details are observed more in a bathroom than any other room in our homes. . . So I Keep it Quality, Keep it Attractive. Keep it Clean. Am sure my philosophy indicates very "Westernized" Logic in relation to the Ancient practice of Feng Shui, but if any space is visually pleasing and comfortable/pampering in usage, the overall pleasing environment cannot help but to raise the energy of its occupants and thus assist in balancing any negative energy of the space. Even if by necessity the space where CHI GOES TO DIE :) Just my long winded opinion. And my experience. LOL .
I happen to agree wholeheartedly with you on this one Kareno, coming from an interior design perspective 🫶🏻 Clearly I’m not a hard-core Feng Shui 💯 at all costs kind of designer, I like to deliver the message and allow you all to make your own decisions 😊 Have you seen my guest bathroom makeover? I only followed a few FS rules in there, the rest I let my designer freak flag fly high 😆
Well stated. My suggestion for a night light that will not disrupt your sleep cycle is a red light. The ones we have use motion sensors and emit zero blue light.
@@marilynndesilva7620 Agreed! I have a little battery operated decorative lantern of sorts which sits on the far corner of the sink. At night it provides just enough light to see what you're doing. During the day, it's a decoration. :)
I love incorporating fung shui into design and Julie’s videos are clear and eminently watchable. I really enjoy the content. Also, I once read about a study that people who have a tv in the bedroom have 35% less sex. Don’t know how true it is, but it’s something to consider.
Greetings from a rented Feng Shui hell. But my home is clean, bright, & uncluttered; comfortable, curated, welcoming, & pretty. I cannot blame my life on furniture placement.😊 --am enjoying your videos.
hi Julie, i'm glad your feng shui videos are back! i see the issue with placing things behind the couch. does feng shui advice against framed artwork behind a couch?? i imagine something like a tapestry or soft art would be better, but i'm looking for a harmonious way to incorporate an existing piece of art 🙏🏽🙌🏽
❤Great video ❣️I’m a designer and have studied and practiced Feng Shui for 30+ years. I’ve always loved that once you apply the elements to a space, you can also see the logic. Like the stove and sink….it’s ridiculous to put the two most active areas across from each other…not logical…but Nate, it does photograph well …we see you!
Thank you for watching fellow FS practitioner 🫶🏻 Ppl may woowoo all they want- those who apply proper Feng Shui techniques understand the true power 💫 Nate even designs his own kitchens in this fashion, not just for clients so I’m sure it’s functional for them. I just can’t unsee the conflicting elements 🙈
Thank you for watching Kate! 🙏🏻💗 That’s what I’m here for - trying to demystify this not so ancient practice so everyone can benefit from good chi all over the world 🫶🏻
Hi Julie! I like that feng shui considers danger when deciding how to position items. The kitchen especially. The water and fire opposite each other is scary. Imagine carrying g a boiling pot of water to the sink with children around. Clear paths for walking good sturdy chairs for humans of all ages and abilities. Lighting for ambiance and safety. Water elements only where necessary. I have a northwest room but only with Eastern and northern windows which I painted bm adobe dust and have a cushy sectional and wood furniture. Even a fake plastic Tiffany lamp in the eastern window which is on a timer and lights up every night for people to see. It’s like art! The room glows at night and is used for television bc it has a 65” tv. It’s the draw to the room and on a wall that cannot be seen from the living room or the front entry. So it’s not a focal part of the house. The only thing I would change is the color of the wall that tv is on. It would be dark green or charcoal to blend that monster in. But alas not repainting and o like the warmth that the room has despite its compass direction. Nice work today. 🥰🙏🏻
Thank you for watching Margaret! I always love reading your comments. Charcoal sounds like an excellent solution to hide that black mirror lol But seriously, Feng Shui just follows good, practical design imo 💆🏼♀️
Ciao, love Feng Shui series, we had that bed with cabinets i removed it, felt really uncomfartable, placed bed on comand position. Had also swords on the wall behind sofa took them relocated. I need more these series to learn more. Thanks a lot, ciao😘
I enjoyed listening and watching your excitement about Feng Shui! I admit though, that I am unclear on what Feng Shui does for one’s life. Is it for establishing a peaceful existence? What does positive chi in a home, do for the people in the home. Is it for having harmony?
Feng shui doesn’t do anything for anyone unless you embrace its philosophies. Jesus is there if you let him in. Feng shui is not Jesus but it’s was the most relatable way for me to help you figure it out. Once you understand the principles of feng shui it makes sense when you start placing things. Easy flow easy life you go from there. It’s a learning process I have adapted to my home.
Hi Jeanne-Marie 🤗 I like to describe Feng Shui as the art of spatial alignment. When combined with mindfulness, good interior design, and a *little* metaphysics, the energies that surround you and your home will work together to harmonize and balance all elements. Like Margaret stated above- Feng Shui won’t do anything for you if you don’t believe in it. Much like meditation- it’s a practice, an art. The more present and mindful you are, the greater the results and benefits 💫
Love this video. I am building a new house. My bed is not exactly in the command position. It is more of having two doors to come in by two side of my bed, so I can have a three side garden view. How serious is to change the bed position and loose a view outside the window?
Thank you for this!! I will definitely watch the other feng shui videos too, thanks in advance for them too❣️🤗 May I ask what your opinion is on so called Canopy beds? Both simple ones as well as draped' ones.. Have you maybe mentioned this in a video previous?! Have a great day & best wishes from Sweden! 🙋🏼
Thank you for watching Zara! Did a huge dive into ALL types of bed frames including canopies in this video > “Best and Worst Beds according to Feng Shui” on the channel now 🤗
Hi, I just started watching your chanel and I instantly fell in love with your videos! I am new to feng shui and I am a student so I dont have seperate bedroom from "office"/work place, and I've been searching a lot for ways to improve feng shui in my room but I find it nearly impossible seeing the rules that everyone talks about, so I was wondering if maybe you could make a video about making a bedroom that is also a work place and a closet at the same time into a place that feels better and has a better chi flow. It seems like its a loosing battle haha
I know that you touched on this topic in this video but I still have a lot of trouble with rearranging my room since its so small with so much furnitre because there's no other way: bookshelf that is quite big (covers a bit more than 3/4 of one wall), desk, bunk bed (that has a bed only on the top part, idk how to describe it better i hope its understandable), two "slim" dressers, vanity table and of course one wardrobe. So yeah, there's a lot of stuff and i cant get rid of any of my furnitre because I use it all and even though I think that I understand the basics of feng shui I have no clue how to make my space more feng shui friendly.
also I have a standing mirror and my wardrobe has a mirror so it just adds to this problem and I can cover the standing mirror but the one thats built into the wardrobe cant really be covered
The mirror that is build into the wardrobe may be covered with a light blanket at night. Prioritize the command position of the bed and allow chi to move freely inside the room. It might be cramped, but as long as you carve a path out and clear the desk of work papers/ close laptop/cover monitor, you should be ok 👍
@@JulieKhuu thank you very much for the answer! I really enjoy your videos and I learn from them easily compared to some other places with this kind of information 💖🙏🏻✨
I loved this video. I saw several things in my house that need to change. I can't to see all your Feng Shui playlist! If you can't move your bed, is there a cure? At the beach house, my feet point directly toward the french doors. Can I hang a crystal in the middle of the french doors? At home, I have a downward slope of the ceiling over my head in the bed. Can I just paint it the same as the wall color so it won't be noticeable?
Hi Karen, thank you so much for watching. Definitely check out the entire feng shui playlist, there’s an episode on best and worst beds. So much detailed information that will answer your questions with illustrations and examples. Hope it helps!
Ciao Julie ❤ thank to you I am learning and applying your tips in my small always evolving place. I need to find a lot of space for my plants for the winter season...without make it look a mess 😅. Lot of Love from Italy ❤
Consider tier shelves with plant lights. Plant lights work great and don’t get hot bc they are all leds. Put it in a timer and you are set for winter! Get one or two depending on the tiers.
Hi Stefania, thank you for watching! I love placing all of my plants either hanging in varying heights from the ceiling or on a tiered bookshelf in groups. Once you find a window with the best light, figure out which works best. Top down or bottom up. A tall bookshelf is easily movable, but you may cover up some of the window. Check out my video - “how to style with indoor plants” for more inspo love! 🪴
Well, my husband & I live in a ranch style house. So, our bedroom has 2 doors leading into our bedroom. One from the hall, which is on the right side of the foot of the bed. The other from a bathroom directly off the right side again. Our bed is right under the windows but we have a solid wood headboard. Yes, we also have a TV in our bedroom we seldom use, unless someone is sick & stuck in bed, which rarely happens, thank God, ❤
Sounds like you’re in the perfect command position Natalie, which is great! Feng shui takes into consideration the entry door. The bathroom door inside the bedroom has little affect unless there’s no door at all, which is another issue onto itself. We don’t want the negative energy from the bathroom to seep into our bedroom so always close that door at night 👍
As a Christian, I don't see anything superstitious about Feng Shui (unless you take it that way, but you can be superstitious about anything, including the Bible). God's grace truly is sufficient, but it won't mop the floor or change the baby's diaper. Feng Shui principles are just another way of creating a home that is comfortable and inviting.
Hi, I absolutely love all your videos. What are your thoughts of a mirror facing a wall that is between the front door and the window? I have a wall across that could use a mirror to sorta make the room look bigger than it is.
Hi Julie, I really enjoy all of your videos and I'm very interested in feng shui. Can you please tell me let me know where to find a Bayua map for the southern hemisphere. All good I'll tune in next week 😊 Thank you.
I create one for every video- you can take a screenshot for now Donna. I’m working on prints that you will be able to download digital copies of! Stay tuned 💗🙏🏻
Julie , merci 🙏🙏🙏 I listen to you so much that I bought a Pachira, and a Ficus Lyrata 😄! I try to organize my rooms in order to fit my personnal Map. As I am a " 2 ", I changed my bed position but...the thing I did not really understand is : should I watch/face in SE direction when in bed, or my head should point ( like an arrow) in SE direction ? For the other elements, ( colors, placements ) I think I am quite good ! 😊😉
Your head/headboard should be ON the command wall. Which means you will face the entry door and clearly see who is coming in/out. Let me know if you need further clarification Veronique! 😘
Hi Julie... love your work. I live in Australia so I cant wait for your next video for the Southern Hemisphere. Does It matter if we are in the northern or southern hemispheres .?? If it does, then I have been doing ALL wrong..lol
Yes, it totally matters Lee! 😆 The major sectors are mirrored, so even though the Compass directions remain the same, the elements are reversed. Stay tuned for the Sunday drop! ☀️
Hello and thank you for your beautiful videos. What kind of feng shui do you practise please? Could you do one on wealth and health please? Thank you ❤
I share classic compass school Feng Shui information on the channel in conjunction with Chinese Astrology. I find it more meaningful to dissect the energy of the home in conjunction with the people who actually live there 🏡 My personal practice involves Flying Star principles where time and space continuums can affect chi and users of the home. But it’s so complicated, we’ll get to that in episode 50 😅
Hi Julie, I enjoyed this Sunday addition. I have applied many of your Feng Shui tips. I have one challenge in the bedroom, I can only meet two of three Feng Shui tips, the bed is either in front of the door or with a window behind. The bed is very slight to the right of the door. What do you think, is there a priority? Thanks
Both ways sound like they may work in your condition if your feet can’t be carried out the entry door and it’s slightly to the right, then you are not in a coffin position. You can easily add heavy, drapery panels behind the headboard if you are sleeping in front of window 👍
Hi Julie I’m looking into moving in the next couple of months, how can I start learning how to decorate and just move about Feng Shui where I can place my bed and desk etc. is there a book you recommend? Thank you
Hey Julie, this is a really good video and it is fun to guess, what might be wrong😊. But in case of bedrooms I have a question and you once helped me so much with my little conversation-group in my little apartment. Please can you do it again? I have a real problem with my bedroom. My bed first stood in the command position, so in opposite of the entry, but with a slide to the left. But then I figured out about my Kua number in one of your videos and realized, that this command position in my Kua case is " total loss". So I moved my bed in the right Kua direction, but now I sleep with my headboard ( it is not really a headboard because it is a metal bed) against my big closet and it is hard to open the left door of it. And now I lay alongside the entry. So when I lay on my left side I look out of the entry and on the right side there is the wall..... This is not the best way. What can I do? Thanks in advance!!
Your original spot sounds like the best position Susanne, even if it acts against Kua no. Like I stated in this video, I prioritize the command position for my bed, regardless of compass direction. You’ve tried both ways, which allowed a more restful slumber? Let that guide you 🤗
I love your makeup -- it looks perfect on your skin tone. I also like your hair and thin, airy jewelry. Would you also make a video on how to apply makeup as you do yourself and on fashion that is budget-friendly? Which makeup brands do you use? You really look nice and pretty. You seem to have lost a little weight which makes you look prettier and very fit The only setback is your tattoos. I know everyone has different perception of tattoos. I am just not an advocate of tattoos. They look dirty on people, no matter their status in life. What are they thinking? You have a beautiful skin, don't mess it up. Oh, It's me, not you. Please ignore my tattoo comment.
Hi Julie, happy Sunday! I really enjoyed this video. Thank you! I have a clock hanging above my fireplace and adjacent to it there a mirror that partially reflects it. It doesn't reflect the firebox, just the mantle area. Is this okay or should I change it? Thanks so much! Have a great day!🌹
Hmmm 🤔 This sounds very conditional Helena. I would probably nix the mirror since it is “symbolically” reflecting the entire fireplace even though we know it’s just the mantel seen in the reflection. It’s almost like having a mirror reflecting the dining table (which is very auspicious) however with a stove from the far kitchen also seen in this reflection (even though the mirror is reflecting the dining table 1st) we can still see the fire. So I’m going to let you decide this one based on how much of the fireplace elevation you actually see 😉
@JulieKhuu Thank you. I feel like I should nix it as well. My goal was to bounce more light around the room. There's one source of natural light which comes from the door leading to the balcony. I felt a little nudge inside the moment I noticed it was reflecting the fireplace. The mirror is also hanging in the east area. It comes down today. I appreciate the advice. Thank you for helping us feng shui our way to better! 🌹☺️
Glad to hear doom is not imminent for a stove facing the sink in a kitchen, cause it will take another 10 years before I change the cabinets in the room. xD Does it lessen the conflict if the stove is electric instead of real fire, like with a gas or traditional wood stove?
Ha ha Marianne, we won’t win them all. It’s impossible 😆 Unfortunately (but also fortunately) Feng Shui is all about symbolism. Electric… gas… induction… hot coal… Stove = fire no matter how we try to spin it. Much like how I can use a faux plant to receive similar real plant benefits according to Feng Shui- I don’t believe it would make a distinction in this case.
Julie can you do a video on umbrella and door mat? I heard according to fengshui bring umbrella inside your home is bad luck and door mat with the word welcome is no no in fengshui
Bringing an umbrella inside your home is an old Chinese superstition because sages believed spirits hid in umbrellas and you were unleashing them inside your sanctuary once you opened them up. Not sure if it’s tied to an old feng shui principle, but I believe it. But I’m also highly superstitious in a not so serious way 🤣
Ok, our bedroom only has two walls we can put our bed on. So right now our bed is in the death position as you said. My husband is on the death side. In the other position we can place our bed, we would not be able to see who is entering the room. I am assuming the second position is slightly better since it doesn't imply death. Am I correct?
Hi Julie, my bedroom door opens up right onto my face (if I were to lie in bed and turn right), but this is my Prosperity direction (East). The only other wall the bed can go on is my Five Ghosts direction (West). If I were to put the bed on the South wall, it would cover a window. The North wall is the bathroom door. How would you position the bed?
South wall sounds like the clear winner to me. Add curtains, close them up at night. The heavier the drapery/ panels, the more support you will have. Let me know how you feel once you make the move!
Red is best Corinne, pink is great for Southwest. But you can also try a spectrum of colors that fall between that range if you don’t like saturated hues ❤️🩷
Congratulations on the new home!! 🥳 A plant would help if in the East sector of your home. A metal vase/metal decor item would help balance out the energies if the kitchen is located in the west sector
Thank you for watching Summer! Check out my full Feng Shui playlist and let me know what you think. The formats vary and I hope my cadence matches the style of video ☺️ This one was quick, casual, rapid fire answers. Maybe more rapid than you’re used to PLUS the editing on steroids 😅
Hi Julie, I had to move my bed from the command position as my head was in the north (outside wall, main road) and I got really ill, so now my head is in the south (bathroom on other side) but the door is at the side of the bed. I can’t put it under the window (West, radiator there) and other wall (East) has built in wardrobe. Any tips if I were to move it back to the north (command). Thank you 😊
Hi Marcia, thank you for watching! 🫶🏻 I would not move your headboard back to the north wall. You clearly stated that you got ill, so let’s remove that option from the equation. So now we are focused on the headboard that shares the bathroom wall. You can do one of two things: place a red towel or blanket behind the headboard to symbolically stop the negative energy from the bathroom to pass through. Do this only if that headboard wall shares a toilet on the other side. If not, you’re actually OK on this wall. Just remember to keep the entry door closed at night before you sleep so negative Chi can’t permeate the space while you rest.
@@JulieKhuu Thank you so much for your reply and recommendation. 🙏There is a bath, shower, toilet and sink behind the wall so I’ll try the red towel. I always keep the bedroom door closed at night as feel better with it closed. Only other issue with where my bed is now, is that there is only space for one bedside night stand (which has a lamp and 2 rose quartz hearts on it) as there is no space at other side because of the door. Not really much I can do about that but It’s only me in the room anyway. Thanks again. 🫶🏼😊
Hello Julie I’m George. I have my bed head up against a window and under that window is a wall running along the window but the wall is low because window is in middle of the wall and above the window is a narrow wall as well. Is it ok to put my head up against that window wall. Plus it is west side in my bedroom window.
Yes it’s ok George, but you must install curtains on the windows and close them at night to help relieve the negative impact of chi from entering the room through your windows and possibly disrupting your sleep. This is not a “protected” wall but can be mitigated with the simple solution of adding window treatments 👍
@@JulieKhuu thank you Julie for your help 🙏 did you get my email message in that message is a picture of my bed and window in my bedroom I sent it to your email address. Please let me know thank you.
I am in the southern hemisphere. I need clarification with regard to abundance, wealth and prosperity, and love. I need to know colours for front door and where is my abundance corner 😊
Yes, it would definitely solve the problem to remove the bulkhead, but also be aware that there are poison arrows coming from the cabinets on the side, especially if that cabinet ends in the middle of your head. If the corners of the cabinets surpass the side of your head, I think you’ll be OK 👍
I’m finding it kind of hard to figure out the center of my home, I live in the top level of a row house and I have a front room and kitchen at the front attached to a long hallway which leads to two rooms in the back. I don’t have much space to place anything in the hallway or entry way to promote good chi as it comes down the hallway into the home.
You don’t need a huge space to benefit from all the good chi that enters your home. Even a small plant or wall sconce in the entry can help usher chi in. Watch my video on entryways in the awkward space series- tons of decor tips with Feng Shui rules in mind for tiny or even no entries!
I just bought a very small house with very few options for furniture placement. I have to break a lot of these Feng Shui rules unfortunately, especially in the living room and bedroom.
I break a lot of rules as well Marion, it's less about the furniture layout and more about what I'm NOT willing to do lol We can't (and won't) win them all. I find Feng Shui equally as effective when you concentrate on certain conditions that you wish to address FIRST. Knock them out one at a time and see how the energy shifts in your space as a result! Let me know if you have any questions love 💖
Of course this was the initial Info i watched/ and the entrance is NW to the flat and the balkony ist SE - is there anything i can but on the door for luck
Yes, I regularly call for submissions based on a future video we have lined up. I’ve done videos where I answer viewer questions with my design solutions. We are doing a Feng Shui video in this style VERY soon- look out for the call to action on the community page Roy! 🙏🏻
I would say yes since it’s temporary for a guest in this case. I’m going to play designer on this one and favor a beautiful focal point over Feng Shui rules lol 😂
Why am I feeling stressed in watching this video ? I remember watching some of your fengshui videos before and I enjoyed it but this time there’s something about it that makes me want to not watch it anymore. Could it be that you are speaking too fast?? Breath Julie breath.
Thank you for watching Ashlea. Appreciate the feedback. This was a different Feng Shui format in a more casual how-I-speak-normally fashion to match the style of the video. Which could read very intense for a morning cup lol ☕️
It’s actually not Jenny 😆 I didn’t even notice that as I was focusing on another point lol Water should be relegated to the North wall. It can also appear on the West wall and East wall since water helps to support both metal and wood. Definitely not across from one another because one position is clearly the unfavorable one
How to describe how Feng Shui works in my home? Its like when you hear someone talk about lice or some other pests and you really feel the panic when you imagine them crawling on you. Even if the threat is not there for real its still a disturbing feeling. To me Feng Shui is all about avoiding that imaginary feeling and just make your home feel calm and relaxed
This Fire directly opposite the sink Water is something I see all the time. Immediately a no no. I dont see the potfiller tap that often but yes, even worse. My bed IS in front of the window, no curtains. However, having it in the command position against the wall means it is right under the bulkhead running along the ceiling ... another Feng Shui no no.
@@JulieKhuu I sleep all right. The direction is good. I wonder if I move the bed to the wall under the bulkhead, but add curtains from the ceiling down over the bulkhead, would that symbolize a corrected wall in Feng Shui terms?
I hate sinks on islands. Totally destroys the functionality of an island. And who wants sink schlop splattered all over your island space requiring constant wiping! Maybe Nate has a maid.......
Happy Sunday everyone! 😎New day, new time for a new Feng Shui series! My goal from this series is to share simple, basic tips that anyone can apply to their spaces, no matter how big or small! Loved this show! Feng shui helps me understand how the room affects me. Can you please do a show on feng shui lighting? Several sources of light in a room makes a huge difference vs one ceiling light, I recently added table lamps to two rooms.
Oh, I love this idea Rosemary. I’ll line it up. Thank you for watching!! 🙏🏻💗
LOL .

Greetings from a rented Feng Shui hell.
But my home is clean, bright, & uncluttered; comfortable, curated, welcoming, & pretty.
I cannot blame my life on furniture placement.😊
--am enjoying your videos.
Your furniture layout pales in comparison to everything you’ve just described. I’m sure chi will feel most welcome 💐
Super fun video I'm very impressed at how much you have taught me 🎉
hi Julie, i'm glad your feng shui videos are back!
i see the issue with placing things behind the couch. does feng shui advice against framed artwork behind a couch?? i imagine something like a tapestry or soft art would be better, but i'm looking for a harmonious way to incorporate an existing piece of art 🙏🏽🙌🏽
thank you for design tips Namaste, to all
LOL the way Julie got feisty about needing a TV in her bedroom 😄
I’m about to cut someone for coming @ me 😂 (clearly not Feng Shui friendly when it comes to my TV) bahaha 🤣
“Clean up your $h!t” 😂
Where is the lie tho?
❤ you! ❤ the feng shui content!
Had to start with the cold hard truth as I look at the tornado that my toddlers left in my living room this lovely Sunday morning😆
hahahaha I agree, Julie is the best.
Nice format. i enjoy learning tips and tricks from you.
Thank you for watching Elizabeth 💗
Thank you, Julie, for making this so much fun! Also for demystifying this mysterious art!
Thank you for watching Kate! 🙏🏻💗 That’s what I’m here for - trying to demystify this not so ancient practice so everyone can benefit from good chi all over the world 🫶🏻
Loved this video. Thanks for all your Feng Shui tips.
You're so welcome! Thanks for watching Margot! 🫶🏻
I super duper love your feng shui videos. Thank you so much. I love that you speak very fast and your voice is very vibrant.
Thank you for watching Cherry Ann! 🥰🫶🏻
Luv this quick causal format and the Feng Shui videos are the best. I have a takeaway every time I watch one 😁
Love that thank you so much for watching Christine. Big hugs!! 🤗
Ciao, love Feng Shui series, we had that bed with cabinets i removed it, felt really uncomfartable, placed bed on comand position. Had also swords on the wall behind sofa took them relocated. I need more these series to learn more. Thanks a lot, ciao😘
Thanks for sharing Elena! Please check back in with your long-term results, we love to hear it! 🫶🏻
Hi Julie, love this video. Would love to start my journey with Feng Shui so I have a lot of work to do. Thanks for all your help.
Start with the basics - my very first feng shui video. It’s like feng shui 101. Hope you like it. Let me know if you have any questions! 🙏🏻💗
Love this video Julie! I’m excited for more ❤
Thank you so much for watching Georgette! See you in the next one! 🫶🏻
Great video, Julie, thank you! Many European bathrooms have separate toilets, maybe that is why we cannot see them in the photos.
Ahh that makes perfect sense! Lol thanks for the clarification Bruno! 🤗
Very approachable take!! Keep them coming!!!🎉
Thank you so much Miriam! Hope this video captures the younger audience 🤗 Trying to create a global movement here!! 💫😄👏🏻
I used to believe in superstition and Fengsui..but I have come to realized that only the Grace coming from God is enough for me...God alone..
As long as it’s not reflecting the front door 👍 sounds like a good spot Rosie!
Hi Julie, I really enjoy all of your videos and I'm very interested in feng shui. Can you please tell me let me know where to find a Bayua map for the southern hemisphere.
All good I'll tune in next week 😊
Thank you.
I create one for every video- you can take a screenshot for now Donna. I’m working on prints that you will be able to download digital copies of! Stay tuned 💗🙏🏻
😮 wow that alot to take in Julie..but trying is the fun part😂 as always thank you for your great inspiration pieces
You can do it Maria! Start small, like adding a plant to energize a stale corner of your home 🪴💚
Julie , merci 🙏🙏🙏
I listen to you so much that I bought a Pachira, and a Ficus Lyrata 😄!
Ive been house hunting in coto and theres so many that have a stove on an island across frim sink! Its a hard pass! Thank u for this video!
Same with the stairs facing the entry! I’ve seen so many gorgeous homes (that I want), but HARD PASS on that feature as well 🙈
Fun video,thank you
Hi Julie... love your work.
I find it more meaningful to dissect the energy of the home in conjunction with the people who actually live there 🏡
My personal practice involves Flying Star principles where time and space continuums can affect chi and users of the home. But it’s so complicated, we’ll get to that in episode 50 😅
Aw, bummer. I'm not into astrology at all.😮
Sorry I’m late! This is amazing and hilarious!💙🤣
Thanks for watching! You made it 🤗
Hi Julie, I enjoyed this Sunday addition.
Do you base the bagua on where the front entrance is? Or by literal compass direction? Thank you
Hi Julie I’m looking into moving in the next couple of months, how can I start learning how to decorate and just move about Feng Shui where I can place my bed and desk etc. is there a book you recommend? Thank you
I love all Lillian Too books- check Amazon for the latest!
Let that guide you 🤗
@@JulieKhuu Thank you so much for responding, Julie😃 So I will change again into the command position and see how it works👍 Greetings from Germany 😊
Thank you!
Thank you for watching Simone!! 💗
I would love to use feng Shui to bring prosperity into my home. Do you have enough practices for a whole video?
I have an entire playlist- start with Feng Shui basics ☀️
@@JulieKhuu I know, I have watched all of them at least twice lol.
Great video!
Thank you for watching Liz! 💗
Glad to hear doom is not imminent for a stove facing the sink in a kitchen, cause it will take another 10 years before I change the cabinets in the room. xD
Does it lessen the conflict if the stove is electric instead of real fire, like with a gas or traditional wood stove?
Ha ha Marianne, we won’t win them all. It’s impossible 😆 Unfortunately (but also fortunately) Feng Shui is all about symbolism. Electric… gas… induction… hot coal… Stove = fire no matter how we try to spin it. Much like how I can use a faux plant to receive similar real plant benefits according to Feng Shui- I don’t believe it would make a distinction in this case.
@@JulieKhuu While on the subject, is it just as bad to have the dishwasher in front of the stove?
Edit: or a fridge with water?
I heard years ago, a mirror over the stove is good! 😮
It’s conditional- they must have been trying to cure a very particular issue
Julie can you do a video on umbrella and door mat? I heard according to fengshui bring umbrella inside your home is bad luck and door mat with the word welcome is no no in fengshui
Bringing an umbrella inside your home is an old Chinese superstition because sages believed spirits hid in umbrellas and you were unleashing them inside your sanctuary once you opened them up. Not sure if it’s tied to an old feng shui principle, but I believe it. But I’m also highly superstitious in a not so serious way 🤣
@@JulieKhuu Ohh I rather believe it than not believe it.
So I have a new home with the stove and faucet across for each other. How do I fix since I am not in a position to renovate. Thank you 🙏
Good question! Watch my video on Feng Shui cures for common home issues- I tackled this condition in detail Irene!
What will happen if you’re not in right feng shui? Is there anything you can buy cheaply to make it right?
Hi Julie, my bedroom door opens up right onto my face (if I were to lie in bed and turn right), but this is my Prosperity direction (East). The only other wall the bed can go on is my Five Ghosts direction (West). If I were to put the bed on the South wall, it would cover a window. The North wall is the bathroom door. How would you position the bed?
South wall sounds like the clear winner to me. Add curtains, close them up at night. The heavier the drapery/ panels, the more support you will have. Let me know how you feel once you make the move!
@@JulieKhuu Thanks, I'll try this :)
My bathroom has two vanities one on each side of the room, which makes the mirrors directly across from each other. Is that OK?
Can you negate the wrong bed/door positioning by using a large mirror opposite the door to give a "command reflected view" of the door from the bed?
Unfortunately, no Angie because now you are adding in another feng shui taboo, which is no mirrors in the bedroom (regardless of their intent)
Love you Julie
Love you back!! Thanks so much for the support and kindness 🫶🏻
So if bathroom in south portion oh home, should shower curtain be in red or pink colors?
Red is best Corinne, pink is great for Southwest. But you can also try a spectrum of colors that fall between that range if you don’t like saturated hues ❤️🩷
Hi Julie. I just moved into a house. Like yesterday! I am purging as I unpack. my stove is across from my sink😢. Would a plant help??
Congratulations on the new home!! 🥳 A plant would help if in the East sector of your home. A metal vase/metal decor item would help balance out the energies if the kitchen is located in the west sector
You have good info to share. It would be more enjoyable if it was delivered with a less rapid speech pattern.
Is there a way to cancel out a coffin position without having to move the bed? I just don’t have anywhere else to put it 😢
I am in the southern hemisphere. I need clarification with regard to abundance, wealth and prosperity, and love. I need to know colours for front door and where is my abundance corner 😊
It’s all in there! Can’t wait for the video to drop this coming Sunday Halina! ☀️
Would it solve the problem if the top cabinets were removed from above the bed but the side cabinets left inplace?
@@JulieKhuu thank you so much!!!!
Hey my kua is 9 - should i buy or life in a flat where the entrance is nord East- What can i do ?
East is the best direction for your new home to face Sonja 👍 More detailed information can be found in the “How to Calculate Your Kua Number” video!
Of course this was the initial Info i watched/ and the entrance is NW to the flat and the balkony ist SE - is there anything i can but on the door for luck
do you do interior design tips? can send a photo of my space
Yes, I regularly call for submissions based on a future video we have lined up. I’ve done videos where I answer viewer questions with my design solutions. We are doing a Feng Shui video in this style VERY soon- look out for the call to action on the community page Roy! 🙏🏻
Julie is it OK if my guest bedroom bed is in coffin position?
@@JulieKhuu thank you Julie I still love you and always looking forward for it.
@JulieKhuu I find it awesome and amusing! 😁
I feel that too. I know why? It’s because Julie speaks faster than those video before so this creates rush and stress. 😢
You can try watching it at 0.75 speed 😅. I love you Julie ❤, you are incredible
4:20 Having 2 sinks across from each other doesn't seem like the best choice either but at least it's Feng Shui approved.
It’s actually not Jenny 😆 I didn’t even notice that as I was focusing on another point lol Water should be relegated to the North wall. It can also appear on the West wall and East wall since water helps to support both metal and wood. Definitely not across from one another because one position is clearly the unfavorable one
❤🥰🥰
How to describe how Feng Shui works in my home?
Its like when you hear someone talk about lice or some other pests and you really feel the panic when you imagine them crawling on you. Even if the threat is not there for real its still a disturbing feeling.
To me Feng Shui is all about avoiding that imaginary feeling and just make your home feel calm and relaxed
Once you understand a condition and hard set rule, sometimes you can’t unsee it 😅
This Fire directly opposite the sink Water is something I see all the time. Immediately a no no. I dont see the potfiller tap that often but yes, even worse.
My bed IS in front of the window, no curtains. However, having it in the command position against the wall means it is right under the bulkhead running along the ceiling ... another Feng Shui no no.
Totally agree Dyana- you’re on the correct wall 👍 How well do you sleep without curtains? Is privacy/noise not an issue?
@@JulieKhuu I sleep all right. The direction is good.
I wonder if I move the bed to the wall under the bulkhead, but add curtains from the ceiling down over the bulkhead, would that symbolize a corrected wall in Feng Shui terms?
Women!!! Your video is great 👍, BUT, you should speak SLOWER PLEASE 🙏🤪
Check your playback speed. 😆 She speaks well and not too quickly.
I used to speak slower. Viewers complained. Now I speak normally. Viewers still grumble. I found the playback speed button. Problem solved 👍
Completely agree
