In the past 12 hours, I faced a break-in on my son’s car and heard about a shocking home invasion nearby. Today, I want to share vital steps you can take to protect yourself and your home. A layered approach to security is essential for a safer, more prepared household. Here’s how you can make sure your home is ready for anything that may come your way:
1. Perimeter Security - The First Line of Defense
Install Exterior Lighting: Motion-activated lights around the exterior of your home deter intruders. Opt for solar-powered or hardwired models to cover all sides of the house.
Security Cameras: Invest in cameras with night vision capabilities that connect to your phone, allowing you to monitor your property 24/7.
Signage: Place signs around your property, such as "24-Hour Surveillance" or "Protected by Security System." These signs can make intruders think twice before entering.
Fencing and Landscaping: If feasible, use tall fences and thorny bushes to make access to your windows and doors more challenging. Keep bushes trimmed back so there are no places for people to hide.
2. Door & Window Reinforcement - Protect the Entry Points
Solid Core Doors & Reinforced Frames: Use solid wood or steel doors for all main entrances, and reinforce frames with longer screws and strike plates.
Quality Locks: Deadbolts with a 1-inch throw or more provide added security. For sliding doors, use a rod or bar to prevent forced entry.
Window Locks & Film: Install locks on all windows, and consider security film to prevent shattering. Additionally, glass break sensors can alert you to any attempts to breach windows.
3. Interior Deterrents - Prepare for Intruders Inside the Home
Alarms & Sensors: Use an alarm system that notifies you and local authorities immediately upon detection. Place sensors on doors and windows, and consider setting up zones for specific parts of the house.
Room-by-Room Preparedness: Think through scenarios in high-use areas like bathrooms, bedrooms, and living spaces. Where possible, store self-defense tools in accessible but concealed locations.
Safe Rooms: Designate a secure room in your home with reinforced doors, an external phone line, and essential supplies. In case of emergency, you can retreat to this area and call for help.
4. Personal Safety Gear - Be Prepared for Every Situation
Keep Self-Defense Items Handy: For many, this may mean having pepper spray, a baton, or a legally owned firearm in accessible locations around the home.
Protective Gear: For situations where you need to be outside or confront a threat, consider protective equipment like body armor, ballistic helmets, and gloves. These items are especially valuable for those living in areas with high crime rates.
Communications: Maintain a digital or analog radio (like those from Radio Made Easy) so you can stay in touch with neighbors and authorities, even if cell service is disrupted.
5. Emergency Kits & Resources - Think Beyond the Basics
First Aid & Trauma Kits: Keep a well-stocked medical kit in your home and car, along with trauma kits for more severe injuries.
Flashlights & Headlamps: High-quality flashlights are essential for power outages or nighttime incidents. Equip each family member with a light source, such as SureFire flashlights.
Evacuation Plans & Drills: Regularly review evacuation routes with your family. Practicing these drills will make them second nature if you need to leave your home quickly.

If there is a home invasion on my property it would not end well for them because:
1. I have highly trained ( search and rescue but doubles up as guard dogs) Belgian shepherd: 12 Malinois ( fearless and they jump like crazy), 10 Groenendaelers ( longhaired black) and one alabai young dog who is growing ( will reach 220 pounds and is sort of a shepherd and also guard dogs, will fight big bears, came from central asia.. thous she was a rescue puppy, some smuck just dumped her. Their loss, she is doing excellent with her brothers and sisters and smart). The invaders will be peed and pooped on and will lose all pants. Of course if they start shooting at my dogs the "hold in place" will go away and they will attack.
2. Terrain is not working with home invaders. Why? i used certain plants with spikes to.... discourage tresspassers and criminals alike. Most have special plants that generate 3rd degree burns real fast if exposed skin comes in contact with the sap and that can happen in an instant. The only way to avoid all that is in a certain pre determined path... which has its own hidden issues.
If they somehow got to my door they will have to go ape on the custom special door ( akin to a bankvault door even trying to rip the door out of the house will not be possible. So they will try and target the windows . LOL good luck with that. there is a "weak point being the backdoor because there is a doggie door that is operated through dog collar to open and close. This is also done on purpose. If they didnt eliminate all my dogs, someone will get their windpipe minced meated by the dogs. If they did then this is where they will enter the "funhouse"... my funhouse which they will be carried out in if you catch my drift.
Not going into the list of security features ( all custom) or the baddaboom sticks and gattlers i have but lets say that the house is designed with funnels in mind and there is no way around those, even if they somehow manage to circumvent the doggie door and go through windows. I also have close circuit security system, partly custom made ( by me and a friend) so i have near 100% coverage of every part of the property. Every room has multiple weapons. Some fire arms, others repeating crossbows from Joerg Sprave ( let me show you its features hahaha) and since i collect antique weapons there are quite a number of fully operational siege crossbows. Its not obvious in your face when you walk in, but they are everywhere and there is always a custom set of spring knives where blade can be used as a projectile with a push of a button.
Why this security? well i did reject offers from the "at large and in charge crowd " and we are currently in a continuous stalemate because of ded man switches in place if something happens so its in their best interest to leave me alone.
Also if you are interested in 3d metal printing i suggest you find a second hand industrial printer and see how it can improve your home and tooling imensely. from car parts ( though they break down faster depending on a number of things) or old timer parts ( even if you have broken pieces, glue them together and then photogrammetry/laserscan them in and go to work perfecting the digital file of the broken piece, then testprint it).
You have the best informational TH-cam channel out there. We have learned so much from you. Thank you and God bless.

Imagine not having a stainless steal sauna gun

Marlin 4570 SS guide
Because of blacks.
I always wear my body armor in the sauna
That’s why I wear my CCW at home in the country. I’ve been in a situation where I was unarmed and was at the mercy of someone else. Never again.
Yep, in Alaska an bears are no joke, I had a giant lynx thinking about getting me on a trail when I got stuck in my snowmachine, busted him with a snubnose ruger sp101 357 with hydroshok,, he jumped 20 feet in air an went down trail 20 feet after getting it right through his heart. That suckered was tough.
Same here, and that was 30 years ago!!
What happened, if you don’t mind me asking?
The one thing I must stress: many of the home invaders in current day are not the same home invaders we're accustomed to hearing about from past incidents. They don't care if you're armed because they're coming with overwhelming numbers......or so they think.
That just means more gun
@@Constabruitywell, guns aren't everything, good dogs, lots of Akitas, german shepherds, fence, gate. Etc. MINDSET. AMERICA WILL BE LIKE THOSE WHITES IN SOUTH AFRICA WHERE YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN A HUGE ENCLAVE, WITH SECURITY TOWERS, RAZOR WIRE, ELECTRIC FENCE. ETC. STAY FROSTY.☠️🇺🇸👍😁
Model 870 sez hi there
#4-6 pellets say knock first.
@@vortexan9804 yup
Dogs in the house are great deterant.
People walking into the place are from areas that are ruthless and unapologetic & are not deterred by dogs or much else and can easily silence it without noise since they may have just had one for breakfast...
Yep, my big Akita is no joke. Even my friends are scared of him🐺
@@otishaag987i dont think so. Dogs have been shown to be a 92% deterrent of criminals. Why? Because it takes their advantage; the element of surprise.
@@otishaag987 If there are two homes, one has dogs and one doesn't, which one do you think they are more likely to target?
A fence makes dogs multiples more effective. Establishes a clear, definable border in the dog's mind and keeps the dog from being lured away, while still being able to go on patrol.
sauna gun doesnt sound so crazy now does it hahahahha
It doesn’t matter how prepared you are all it takes is a group of organized people to take advantage of your weaknesses no matter how strong you think you are.
You need to keep your head on a swivel. I have a very sick wife who requires me to take care of her. It’s impossible for us to bugout but I have been strengthening my home.
Every window has a plywood blank and the screws that secure it.
My wife was a social worker for the state and she was mandated to take it to keep her job. She chose to take it and had never been right since. They denied her medical retirement benefits and we have been fighting it since. It’s killing me especially since we are both veterans.
I am praying for you all and especially our fellow Americans who are suffering from the effects of the hurricane.
Stay strong stay safe and be vigilant!
Maybe don’t vote Trump next time
My heart breaks for you 💔.
So many people suffering these days. I'm 65 and never in my wildest dreams did I ever think things would get this bad. Our government hates us and to be honest, I'm tired of fighting them.
Prayers for you and your wife 🙏. Thank you for your past service ❤
@@robert7622 it wasn’t trump that mandated it. It was your president and the democrats who are the enemies of the people!
I thin hunkering down is the best plan anyway.
@@alanmeyers3957 I agree with you. Bugging out is the absolute last resort for me. I have a small farm and a well fenced property. Plus I have organized my neighbors and we have a plan.
When I was a teenager and got my first truck, I left it unlocked with the key in it at home. Dad had a shotgun in the window gun rack of his truck. Nobody ever bothered anything. I miss those days.
Dont leave your led dispensers in the car. Windows dont stop criminals. Act accordingly
Unbelievable!! I came to this beautiful country in 2009 for high school. Graduated college in 2016 and since then been I've patiently waiting for my citizenship; abiding to all the rules and regulations of this "law-and-order" country!
HOWEVER, in the past 2 years I'm realizing that this is NOT the country I moved into 15 years ago...
If nothing changes in 30 days, Soviet Union will rise up again.. just on the other side of the Atlantic this time..
Oh LORD, heal this land, we pray!
Neither party will take the US out of this mess. They are the parties that brought the US to this point. Don't depend on them to fix it. For all the hate Russia gets, they build three churches a day and have been for the last 25 years.
Pray if you like but ACT we must.
Crime wise we could end up like back in 1980's when U couldn't use NYC subways at night.
Welcome to my peoples land. The Native land. We need to fix this.
Well, it's the whole world really. All because a few weak politicians and judges can't do the hard things and put these criminals on an island.
So vote for Kamala?
I live in what I thought was a safe area. But yesterday my neighbors got broke into through basement window. Lost some firearms and other stuff. Stay safe and alert everyone.
Seeing me naked would've scared them away. Works on the solicitors 🤣
Ha ha ha !! Oh boy!!
Sometimes it's just to much information! You scared me and I don't even know you!
I’m here in San Antonio right on boarder. Welcome to our world. Been trying to tell y’all but nobody would listen.
I know I live in Hondo . We have to deal with millions of home invaders every day .
German Shepard’s, wonderful with kids, and criminals 😊
I prefer a Rhodesian Ridgeback myself
Living in a high trust society must be nice, but it comes with drawbacks. I am South African, violent crime is a way of life, we act accordingly, I fear such a life is coming for my Ameribros.
Yes, it is. Living in Mayberry would have been nice, but that's no longer in the cards. Lock and load!
@@outerjohn it's not just lock and load, know you neighbours, form a community watch, have a basic understanding of first aid and probably most importantly, know how to use a shovel, if you pick up what I'm putting down (agricultural lime is your friend).
True, we are getting South American gangs that could care less about the US laws and consequences.
import the third world become the third world.
Weak comunity policing produces victims. Weak community justice creates a trend. When I lived in South Africa. We had an agreement with a squatter camp next door. They had a cangaroo court. We supposed their infrastructure They delt with any criminals. It wasn’t a high trust community! It’s was a high testosterone. Low iq distopia.
Everything you and the companies are giving away is over the top. Good people doing good things for others .... Wish there were more people who cared like you all do.
This happens in South Africa daily. Sorry to hear about your bad experiences.
I live in Canada. I was told I'm not aloud to defend my family and we should be more tolerant.
If im going to live so remote, i will def have a few dogs on premises
Prayers for you and your loved ones! Hope no one was hurt. Take care stay safe
I think some driveway alarms suit homesteads quite well, oh and foldable/droppable lockable bollards
my buddy left his garage open in his gated community [only way in is with a code] and got robbed. he still hasn't got a ring-type doorbell.
Praying for you and your family Wranglerstar! Horrible times we’re living in!
Years ago I bought an M-1 carbine from a guy who said his grandfather used it for slaughtering pigs. It was always kept in the barn and the finish had clearly suffered for it. The gun of course functioned just fine. You don't need a beauty queen in every room of the house or out in the shed, just something reliable that will do the job. When you're in a pinch any gun is better than no gun.
All I have is my trusty glock 9mm bought it during the coronu times. might be time to start looking for some longer range stuff and other options.
Hey, they saved Europe! They can save your home in time of need. I have one. Here's a hint: Get a weighted workout vest, like the Gold's Gym brand I have. They come with steel or lead shot in pouches in pockets all over the vest for weighing you down while you run, jog, whatever.
Those pockets are PERFECT size for M1 magazines. I have all of mine loaded and in pockets on the front AND back of the weighted workout vest. It's my "tac" vest for the M1. Of course, other vests work better for other calibers. But I like mine!
I know an old marine who only has one gun, his “AT&T gun”. “Reach out and touch someone” gun, his M1
That carbine with soft nose ammo is a 1 hit quitter. Guaranteed.
A good dog completes an off-grid security system, in my opinion!
Never get caught with your pants down. Literally
This is why I just wear adult diapers. Never gonna catch me with my pants down. Not e enough hen I'm poopin.
Toilet gun
Imagine living in a world where people can suddenly appear inside your house with bad intentions!
Oh, and imagine that one political side want even more soft-on-crime policies and less law enforcement...
Don't forget they want you unarmed.
Well the rubber is going meet the road soon, or the 💩hitting the fan.
Look at South Africa and you’ll see right where we’re headed.
@@PORSCHE_COUNTRY.is it? We have dead kids in the mountains and we’re still paying pedophiles taxes in a country founded upon going to war over taxes on tea.
What’s it going to take?
Imagine being able to create and control hurricanes.
A Guardline Perimeter Wireless Alarm System is essential!
(Or equivalent) An early warning system is your best chance and perhaps only hope for a home defense heads-up.
Combine that with video motion, and motion activated lighting = triple independent early warning notifications.
Be prepared for the hardships to come. But be prepared to help those in need, by praying and asking GOD for wisdom on whom to help.
I live back off the road some ways. Pretty hidden away, so that's good, but it also is bad that if someone does come around, they could throw a party in my backyard and nobody would know.
One night I got a bad scare, 2am in the morning and was heading to bed after watching a movie. Saw this flashlight moving around my front door, that stomach drop and adrenaline started to hit.
Went out the back, flanked from the right, peeked around the corner to make sure it wasn't police ya know, it wasn't so, popped on the pistol light and loudly said " can I help you"
It was my neighbors down the streets 16 year old daughter and her friend who snuck out and put the car in a ditch and needed my help. Relieved, but was a wake up call for sure. Needed to make some big upgrades.
So, Now....
- I have set up 8- 4k hidden cameras on trees, etc. Each has night vision, motion alerts and a swivel head. Painted camo also, would never know they are there.
- 1 boxer and 1 American Bully XL - Trained to be pets, but I take their alerts, barking, focused attention seriously.
- 3M style window film - basically unbreakable from the outside, even with a sledge hammer, pretty cool stuff.
- And No mater where I am outside or inside the house, I am armed until its sitting on my night stand.
ATF loves when people put their home defense setup in TH-cam comments. 👍🏻
That some great preparedness, brother. ALLLL great stuff!
Do you also have “Door Jamb Armour” on every point-of-entry into your home?
If you don’t then you need to add it immediately.
That work wonderfully well and aren’t too expensive considering their effectiveness.
@@UniquelyUbiquitous-yg3xl of course. There is quite a bit I have done that I didn't not mention in my comment, but I wanted to post somthing to hopefully inspire others to a low budget ( but work) set up ya know....
Your going ro need a tank to get theough me and I may even have somthing for that lol.
Never know! Haha. Stay frosty.

Crime has risen across our great country because our current government has failed us, stay prepared, rely on no one but yourself.
Vacume seal a lead dispenser to keep in the sauna. Put a window on the door with a monitor outside with the security cameras rolling on it.
DONT LIKE THE PLASTIC CONCEPT IN A SAUNA- plus it seems like it would be hard to "open" with sweaty hands and hard plastic wrap- i had an outdoor hot tub and sauna at old house- you can keep your welcoming guests tool within hands reach and i kept it lightly covered with a towel so no water- sauna will be fine the few minutes-less than an hour your in there- get some cameras and have your cell nearby where you can 'see" the screen for any alerts that cameras catch- also had some nice "trip wires" in the woods by the yard with a blank shotgun round that would detect as a early warning device- dont get caught with your pants down-literally or figuratively :))

If you won't go into Portland, Portland will come to you.
That is awful that someone to be forced to experience. I’m sure you’ve heard complacency kills, thank goodness they survived. Our country has changed, and not for the better. Like / Subscribe!
It's the simple stuff our grandparents did... A $100 double barrel beside the bathtub. Nothing worth stealing. Does the job.
Learn to give two shits about people's opinion about TOO MUCH. Be fully armed 24/7
What an awesome prize to get, good luck to those taking part. In my country you can't even take the trash out without being armed. One thing I have learnt is inside alarms are to late, you want perimeter alarms so you know someone is coming before hand, and from which direction.
Went to the doctor for a checkup this week, and they had a painted sign on the door that said "Weapons Are Prohibited In This Facility". In my state, that makes it illegal for me to carry a gun even though I have a carry permit on those premises. I inquired at the front desk and asked them if they were going to deprive me of my constitutional right to protect myself, what precautions have they taken to ensure my safety in their facility. They looked at me like I had two heads and one of the younger girls literally laughed.
Normies have no clue how bad things have gotten or how bad it will become. They think that since they have never seen violence that it simply can't happen. Well, ICE just release a report that "more than 13,000 immigrants convicted of homicide - either in the United States or abroad - are living outside of Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention" and coming to a neighborhood near you. How many more a straight up terrorists? Nobody knows for sure. Criminal gangs are organizing and enjoying easy pickings targeting citizens who are unprepared for this kind of organized violence and the government has no interest in protecting you. Get armed and trained and take your own safety back into your own hands. If your local government denies you the right to protect yourself, it's time to leave. You and your families safety demands it. God bless fellow patriots.
All true facts ...and there isn't nothing worse than a pretentious little twit with no discernment or life experience that "knows" it all is it..! They can never be depended on to make a rational, logical practical decision but rest assured they can make decisions that can instantly screw your life up with their incompetence instantly. ..in fact many of these don't have to be that young either..just arrogant and stupid..very bad combination.
...and most wouldn't know how to spell CONSTITUTIONAL if it wasn't for spell check! But can have a position to make decisions that can damage others..all in the name of ""policy""
Yep, they tried a home invasion on me 2 of March this year and live in Wyoming at about 2am in the morning. I was waiting with my 9mm with lots of ammo waiting when they kicked in my door. Imagine surprise! One guy broke his leg lol I had door reinforced and his partner ran screaming down the street and the 3rd crapped his pants on my porch. That's one thing my friends and family will tell you don't wake her up! Because I get very nasty!
Thank you for loving us
The more stories like these, the more the "shower gun" meme starts to make more sense, for when you're in the buff. Even if you don't have time to get dressed, I think you're in a stronger position if you're squaring up with the perp while buck naked but armed to the teeth, as you can both weird them out and make a show of domininance on a primal level at the same time. Or you can just have a bathrobe at the ready.

I’ve been expecting criminals to move out of the urban cameras to the suburbs and rural areas. Carry 24/7, even in your own home.
Now we have to be armed everywhere and always? What kind of a life is that? If we are not even safe in our own homes, its time to do something about it! How bad does it need to get before we say ENOUGH! Passive resistance and defense is not going to change anything.
Look at South Africa. That’s our future right around the corner.

Kinda off topic- but I watched Wranglerstar vids years ago. I stopped watching then, but I have come back recently. The "beloved" every time as a video opener is one of the most inadvertently hilarious things ever for me.
lol SAME… 😂
Hearing that I am beloved keeps me coming back.
Start with an alarm system and always keep it armed. There are two armed modes Armed Away and Armed Home. Armed home disables interior motion sensors. If a door/window/glass sensor causes an alarm condition, the monitoring company will see it was armed home and can communicate that homeowner may be home and not answering to dispatch. When possible carry your sidearm while at home. If that is impractical, keep one in a lock in areas of vulnerability.
Yay God bless those people I live in Baltimore bad here God bless everybody be safe

An easy deterent that has helped is to put up bright lights, motion activated lights, cameras. Break in at work was common about once a year. Nothing for many years now.
Sorry to hear about Jack and your close friend. This world should be ashamed of itself, judgement day is the only thing that keeps my sane some days… god bless and keep the iron on you.
Gear and mindset is great. Nothing beats experience. Being in those situations time after time. Pointing a gun at a real person is something you can’t train.
