I used to cut my own hair for years, still do sometimes and the only part I find difficult it's when looking in the mirror I get confused very easily due to the illusion of it looking backwards so how I move the razor seems to be the opposite, I dunno if I'm making sense but it's like that bike that if you turn right you go left and left you go right.
I just tried a skin fade following your instructions to a tee! It came out surprisingly good! Hopefully I keep improving and never need a barber again lol
Good job. It’s interesting to see how others go about cutting their own hair. I’ve been doing it now for 15 years and I no longer need a second mirror to fade the back. I’m ambidextrous so I just switch hands for each side and work my way to centre at the back with a slight overlap. I would suggest becoming comfortable with your less dominant hand as it appears much easier than twisting your arm around your head - at least in the long run.
I agree once I learned to cut my own hair, I look fresh everyday and save money...plus I enjoy it! It was very hard to work on back of my head but I just ordered this 360 mirror....thanks for the tutorial!
Alexandèr Taylor first time was calm ngl. I mean I’m good at drawing and art and stuff. So it was pretty similar. Just a steady hand and and understanding blending/fading
Wow so glad I found this channel, I've been cutting my own hair since I was 15 I'm 44 now and still cutting my own hair. Can't wait to try your methods and buy some of your items.
Since lockdown I bought clippers but didn’t have the lever as everyone was buying them and was out of stock, I’ve just got the guards and I fade using the corner of the blade and looks very good considering I don’t have the lever it gets better the more I do it
Look people, his technique is good for him but very few can pull this off. Easy way using two lengths. Cut top using guard 12-16mm. Next put 9mm guard on for the sides. Have the guard perfectly level starting at the bottom and go straight up, never change the angle of the clippers. You see, as you go up your skull curves, by keeping the clippers the same throughout this upward cut, the top will automatically be faded due to skull curve. Do this all the way around your head. The fade will look good and perfect because you are using your skull's natural curve. The hardest part last, and this will take practice, is lining up around ears and back line. I did purchase this guys triple mirror and it really has helped to get the back. NOTE: Above guard lengths can be adjusted to how ever long you want.
No chance I'd do this, the style wouldn't suit me, however i watched the video because i assumed you had skills, so i thought ill check it out. Damn bro! Well done! I gave you a big thumbs up due to your skills, not for me wanting to cut my hair. Great filming and explanation. Your accent is quite strong but you are very easy to understand and keeping your viewers attention. Just thought I'd share my feedback because i believe you have to give credit where its due. Keep up the good work all round in this video
I’ve been cutting my own hair for 20’years I’ve gotten compliments and even my own cousin who owns his own shop said it’s crazy how good a job I do. (Second To None barbershop Riverside, CA)
Looks really good! You're lucky man to have nice thick hair yet! I miss my hair completely bald now and its depressing, no attention from girls anymore, and no sex either sucks man!
When i learned i used a headband moving it up step by step then just using my hand then other people let me cut their hair almost every barber starts on themselves and it doesnt always come out great but thats where it starts
Wow! I’m surprised! This is the same way I cut my own hair since 5 yrs ago. I just need to set up a mirror like that. Thank you so much, very helpful video.❤️
What about frizzy/ curly short hair... 1cm long to start with? For the lower back of head / above ears where to shave razor smooth and transition to clippers? After more of a jarhead look... I am balding and thinning extremely.
Been doing this since 14 years old no grades or mirror needed obviouly it took me many years to master it but i do it all by touch and feel .... next time ill do a tutorial with no grades or mirror ... its actually alot easier than you think
Benyseus A taper is when your hair gradually changes from long to short from the top of your head down to your hairline. A taper only appears in two areas-your sideburns and your neckline. A fade is a shorter version of a taper. A fade appears all the way around your head, ends above your natural hairline, and gradually ‘fades’ into your skin. Fades and tapers are similar because they both reduce the length of your hair to form a gradient. They’re also both achieved by using a clipper, scissors, or often both.
I got real bad anxiety so going to the barbers is always a battle. I gotta muster the courage to try this 😭. Can anyone recommend me what clippers I should get? rn i got like a $10-$15 one from walmart. 😕
Jus shave it down to a 2, try and line it out with 0, then go up to 1/2 if u have one and go jus a little bit more up, then shave the top down to 1. Even if it looks high and tightish, it grows back fast
Hey man, thank you for sharing this. I ended up ordering that trimmer but it is missing the size 2 guard. Do you know where I can get it or if other guard will work for this model?

Im not ambidextrous but have no trouble swapping hands to do each side. It did look realy awkward in the video.
Thanks 4the video... I'm not about to try it myself, 😉 but I *ADMIRE* your skill.👍

Great video b
This looks insanely good gonna give it a go
Do you have a link for both machines and guards?
What about frizzy/ curly short hair... 1cm long to start with?
For the lower back of head / above ears where to shave razor smooth and transition to clippers?
After more of a jarhead look... I am balding and thinning extremely.
What's the brush that you use bro?
What are those clippers called and where could u get them?
I keep my hair buzzed on #1 but I think Imma try to fade it next time.
Alle gucken das jetzt während Quarantäne...
Naja..
When you say 3 guard close/open you mean close and then open? Or one of them? Thanks!
It's open, then close ;)
It's always better to start with the biggest size, then lower, so OPEN then CLOSED
Good job man
i love watching this video you have some mad skills
What’s the difference between open and close guard? I only have 0,1,2 etc but idk what i could do then
I have a hard hair. But I'll practice this... thanks bro
Who else is here during covid 19 quarantine
Nice Video Work Good Thanke you ❤️
Been doing this since 14 years old no grades or mirror needed obviouly it took me many years to master it but i do it all by touch and feel .... next time ill do a tutorial with no grades or mirror ... its actually alot easier than you think

How do u have the confidence cuz I ain’t trying to mess up my trash hair
Hope in future there will be a technology which let us to see the whole area of our hair so we can do self haircut perfectly
I salute you
The dislikes are from barbers...
Imma start doing this I’m tired of paying for haircuts
I need this thanks 😂
I want to buy.. so please tell me about price.. nd shop.
what's the brand for the guards he's using?
What’s the difference between “fading” and “tapering”. I always seem to confuse the barber.
LipFi's Barber Shop ah I see, that makes a whole more sense now. Thanks for explaining it to me.
What trimming pack/ gauge was that? I need all
Outro song?
I got real bad anxiety so going to the barbers is always a battle. I gotta muster the courage to try this 😭. Can anyone recommend me what clippers I should get? rn i got like a $10-$15 one from walmart. 😕
What clipper are you using?
The PRIMAT 1200 of Moser ;)
This should be easy if I have the right mirror at a good angle.please suggest a mirror
If you're in Europe : bit.ly/365OvxM
America : bit.ly/2Q4Q8Xd
What clipper is that bro? I paid 50 for mine its not so good. The adjustable trimmer always bends on these cheap ones.
You have a better haircut than me and I go to a nyc barbershop :(
$20 saved every time
Can you guys recommend me a good place to cut my hair, I tried this on the video and I kind of did it wrong
... at a barber?
Jus shave it down to a 2, try and line it out with 0, then go up to 1/2 if u have one and go jus a little bit more up, then shave the top down to 1. Even if it looks high and tightish, it grows back fast
Wo kann ich diese gleiche Haar Maschine kaufen, suche seit Jahren und immer kaufe ich die falschen, ich will die selben bitte um Hilfe
Kik
This undermines barbers as well
great tutorial brother
Hey man, thank you for sharing this. I ended up ordering that trimmer but it is missing the size 2 guard. Do you know where I can get it or if other guard will work for this model?
I've faded my own hair before, it's not that complicated
Just found this video ! If only I found it 4 hours ago then I wouldn’t look like a miget gem! Phaha
