Fucked up my own head today. Bought a machine and said to my self..how hard could it be? So I TH-camd it and was happy asf to know it looked easy. Not gonna lie but I did well in one side..fade came out tight..but had problems learning the closed and open clipper thing and what it was for. Ended up looking tight from one side and fucked up from the other. Now gatta wait till my hair grows back to try again until it becomes easier to cut my own hair the way I want it. Not really embarrassed tho. Doesn't look as bad as other failed hair cuts.

Hey great information. I’m new at this. I have so much trouble. Starting my guideline. What’s the theory on how to start the first guideline.
Some say start at eye brow . Some say depends on head shape . But no one says what the theorem is of why and what and how to start on guideline on different head shapes
    I’m new . Didn’t go to an expensive school. I’m struggling. Help…
Thank you in advance for positive comments

Who’s here thinking they need the 1.5 guard?

Me! I cut my brother's hair 3 times now and each time I feel like I need the 1.5. I ordered it but it didn't come in the post ffs. Each youtube video chats so much gas about what to do, it should be simple. I.e. exactly what clippers to use and where and when. Can't find a clip like that anywhere.

Makes no sense. So you open and close the lever but when and where? If you follow this you are going to have short, long, short, long, short, long all the way up your head?

I dont understand why you have to do the c motion when the lever and the guards gradually goes up for you. Like , the gaurds go 1 closed, 1 open , 2closed, 2 open,. Wont that itself just do the blend?

I think it would but doing the C motion makes it easier to blend... there isn’t such a prominent line while you use the motion. That’s what I am getting anyways lol. I’m not a barber or cosmetologist... I’ll be cutting my kids hair tomorrow. 😳😅

What about linear motors as in Panasonic Professional clippers? What is their torque?
