- Hi, this video shows you how to setup the PlayStation 4 Pro Console. It is aimed at beginners who have never set up a games console before or maybe haven't set one up in the past 10-15 years.
The video shows how to connect the cables, how to connect up the internet, how to setup HDR on the TV and check that you are getting 4k output, how to play a game, parental controls and other settings.

I know this was posted 5 years ago but I'm about to buy a PS4 PRO used and I'm glad you have shown all the cables that are needed so I'm not missing any when I purchase it. On the Sony X800D, they only allow 4K HDR on HDMI 2 and HDMI 3. In order to enable HDR, you go to Settings, External Inputs, HDMI Signal Format, and choose Enhanced Format.

just got a ps4 pro today and went straight to TH-cam because I have never set one up. the only game system I have ever had is a Wii lol ,so all of this is brand new to me.I have TV 's but I need to get one for this one so I was also looking to see which TVs pair better with this game system . For my setup, I have a 50 foot Ethernet Cable ran from the router in my kitchen, underneath the stairs, then plugged into an ethernet switch in my bedroom. Any device that can use Ethernet in my bedroom is connected to the Ethernet switch. As for the PS4 Pro, it's connected to with HDMI to a Sony 4K TV, and I use Optical Cable and USB to connect my Astro Mixamp TR, which goes with my headset, the Astro A40 TR.

I rewatched your vid and to my surprise since I have had my Samsung TV (2016) I only had HDMI UHD Color turned on HDMI 4 for my receiver..which my ps4 is connected to...BUT for all this time my Fire TV and cable box did not have HDMI UHD Color HDMI 1 and 2 turned on! So thanks for covering every detail about this!

I haven’t played ps since ps2 wow a lot has changed I noticed you can’t play game right away and you have to install and download before playing
Rob John I miss the days when all you had to do was pop the game in and start playing. These take so very long.
And they call that progress, call of duty modern warfare 6 hours to download drove me round the bend the ps4 pro is a users nightmare give me me XBox 360 slim back FFS.
EXACTLY, THE SAME WITH ME AND IM OLD. I HAVE NO ONE TO HELP ME EXCEPT BY WATCHING THESE VIDEOS ONLINE. I SPENT ABOUT 3 HOURS YESTERDAY OR MORE TRYING TO GET MY CONTROLLER TO WORK WITH MY TV. MUCH LATER I REALISED I HAD TO CHARGE THE DAMN CONTROLLER FIRST SO I PLUGGED IT INTO THE WALL. THEN I TRIED TO GET THINGS GOING AND I STILL COULDNT GET THINGS WORKING SO I PUT A DISC INTO THE PS4 AND I STILL COULDNT GET OUT OF THAT STUPID NOTE ON THE TV WHERE YOU HAVE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND CHOOSE VARIOUS THINGS YOU ARE ASKED ON THAT LONG LIST. I DID NOT WANT TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH CONNECTING MY PS4 TO THE INTERNET. I JUST WANTED TO PLAY MY GAME DQ11. I ENDED UP RINGING UP THE PLAYSTATION HELPLINE AND WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR THE RECORDING TO END, IT SUDDENLY DAWNED ON ME I DIDNT HAVE MY CORD CONNECTED FROM THE PS4 TO MY CONTROLLER, YOU MIGHT THINK THATS FUNNY, OK SO IM AN IDIOT, BUT I HAVE A GOOD EXCUSE, MY AGE. SO WHILE IM STILL WAITING ON THE PHONE FOR SOMEONE TO HELP ME I FIDDLED AROUND WITH MY PS4 CONTROLLER ANSWERING MORE QUESTIONS THEN ONCE THAT CORD WAS CONNECTED THINGS STARTED MOVING AND WHEN I HAD TO ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS I NOTICED MY PS4 ACCEPTING THE DISC I HAD PUT INTO MY PS4 AND I WAITED FOR IT TO LOAD.
FINALLY SUCCESS. IM ABLE TO PLAY MY GAME. BUT NOW I DONT KNOW WHERE THE EJECT BUTTON IS, I DID WATCH ANOTHER VIDEO AND I THINK I KNOW BUT I LL GO BACK TO WATCHING ALL OF THIS NOW. IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THEIR COMPLICATED STRESSFUL PS4 GOING, JOIN THE CLUB.

Excellent video - thank you. However, I’m stuck between buying the PS4 Pro or the X Box One X. Which is the best one to go for? I have no previous loyalty to either just confused as to which is the better.
Note : Don’t use optical, only if that is only choice. HDMI carries uncompressed audio with picture so you only need that. Spdif carries upto 5.1 compressed audio so you will get worse sound quality. Optical is ok when using stereo but hdmi can do the job just fine. Using optical was better choice more than decade ago but now it is kinda useless to people who have new technology.

GhostYT nope when you put the physical disc in your ps4 it will automatically download the whole game file which takes maximum 5 minutes ( depending on the storage of the game) and then once it’s downloaded you can play the game
