    And this is why we love CJ. If only women knew the power they have when they stand up for each other.

      yea would be nice if they all stood up for each other when they are told they have to shut up and compete against men pretending to be women.

      Unfortunately, to get that much power the women have to lay down first.

      I agree with you, I would love to see that statement to be more inclusive to express all of us have that power . Integrity, respect, honesty and self respect are what empowers, unfortunately we ( men and women) don’t use our potential and opportunities .
      We are all mothers,fathers, siblings, etc and really need to realize potential .
      It is not what we are that holds us back , it is what we think we are not .
      Food for thought

      @@Grumpy-Curmudgeon #MeToo has made potent strides in slamming down that concept. Although, the backlash to that is males telling females that they've taken this campaign "much" too far, and then attempt to minimize efforts toward change.

      @@janetkriegl6720 Interesting though, I was only commenting on the video. For CJ to have the power she used with the VP she first had to have sex with him. (This was all allegedly consensual so the MeToo # would not apply; and of course this is all fictional.)

    I immediately thought of "Game--Set--Match" when CJ gave The Vice President "That Look" @ 2:26. She was firm in his office....but that slow walk in the corridor afterwards was almost a surrender of sorts....and really punctuated by the deep sigh as she sat down in the chair! Have a wonderful Weekend Everyone! 👋

    I think The WW under Aaron Sorkin was better than it was without him.
    However, I think he is one of the finest dramatic writers in American television history.
    Certainly over the past 20+ years.
    John Wells (who took the reigns as show runner when Sorkin left) had gigantic shoes to fill.
    And I think - overall - he did a fantastic job.
    This scene is a good example of that.
    There is one thing I personally like better about TWW post-Sorkin.
    He seemed to often like the 1920s/30's movie pacing of rapid fire dialog.
    One sentence right after another... almost talking on top of each other.
    I - personally - found it not realistic.
    Even most brilliant people (with a few exceptions) do not seem to talk like that.
    Wells slowed the pacing a bit - like in this scene.
    With longer gaps in between dialog.
    Though I have no idea if that was deliberate or not.
    I think it makes it a little more realistic.
    But that is my preference.

      At the end of the episode she is reflecting on that and she implies that he was a married man at the time. And she swore never to be a girl that sleep with another woman's husband. But apparently Hoynes took a casual like to her. And came on to her with well practiced charm and flirt and seduction. She regret that ever since. A part of her got swept up by the charm. And she went against her morals. As Hoynes is making wind and and Thinks about running. She got a hold of a list of salacious encounters. (I think that is what that list is) and coupled with the scandal that lost him the VP office. CJ realizes he a serial cheater.
      And knows he is powerful enough to hurt the lower ppl. The girls that have no platform or high office. So she puts him on notice. Roll with the punches. If the press brings up your old problems. Cuz I will not let you destroy anyone. I will fight for them

    • @bdcopp
      @bdcopp หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lionsjourney29 this sort of moral marriage thing is kind of dated. Since the west wing we have had several presidents who have cheated on partners and won the office. Nobody cares as much about cheating in a relationship, certainly not enough to cost them an election or really get much media attention. The most obvious ones are Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, but there are probably other examples.

    • @alexanderdzuricky5398
      @alexanderdzuricky5398 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No, but he knows the voters won't like finding out the extent to which he cheated on his wife, and he would have a political incentive to try discrediting any of the women he's hit on previously in order to keep his own reputation clean. Maybe the voters shouldn't care whether or not a presidential candidate is a slut, who knows? But if he is, the ethical thing to do would be to own up to it. CJ is calling him out because he's already begun the process of trying to brush things under the rug, shift blame to other people, and try to downplay his shortcomings at the expense of other people, which is unfair to them.

    • @steverichardson5051
      @steverichardson5051 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's weird, as early in the series it's never implied they had any history together, but around S5 (after Sorkin left) they decided to write in a backstory that they had an affair before the first campaign. "10 Years ago", CJ wasn't Press Sec then, she wasn't really high profile in the party so it's not clear where / when this could have happened.

    • @SpydeyDan
      @SpydeyDan 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@steverichardson5051 10 years ago is four years before the campaign would have even started, so it may have even predated CJ's PR job in Hollywood. CJ did a lot of work for political causes and NPO's. As a Democratic senator, Hoyne's very plausibly could have connected with her at a fundraiser when she was working with EMILY's List.
