First time I watch a video from Nicaragua that mention the delicious Guirilas, forty years plus I have not eaten one! So enjoy Nicaragua, the food, the people and the beautiful scenes, please buckle up, your family safety first!
OMG, guirilas con cuajadas y crema! My favorite. Remember to be safe driving and to wear your seat belts. Safety seatbelts please... Takes a minute to bucket up.
I had Dengue! But when I was in Guatemala. I had no idea it was Dengue at first. It started with back pain, we were walking around Antigua showing some Missionary friends around. My lower back was starting to hurt, so I had to stop walking often, bent over to try to get some relief. Turned into body aches, later that night had a fever for 2 straight days, possibly 3. And headaches! I thought at first I had Meningitis. Fever would not go away for days. I was so weak. After 3 days my fever broke, but then all of a sudden the palms of my hands started to itch SO MUCH and they felt slightly swollen, no amount of scratching nor benedryl relieved the itch for 2 days. I couldn't sleep at all because of how badly my hands itched. One of my Missionary friends was a Nurse from the US who lived in a rural part of Guatemala and worked in a clinic. She didn't know what was going on with me either, but when they got back to the Village, she told Her Doctor all my symptoms and he immediately said "Dengue.".Googled it and I had all the symptoms. I attract mosquitoes for some reason. That was in 2012. I survived! Apparently there are 2 Dengie viruses, one kills you and the other makes you immune for life! I never went to see a doctor that whole week.
Not exactly, there are 4 dengue viruses (probably 5), and yes, every time you get one strain you become immune for life for that strain, is a cross immunity that means is going to help you with your next dengue fever but every infection increases your chances of getting hemorrhagic fever. Dengue fever low your platelets, that’s the biggest problem. A good home remedy is drinking papaya leaves (the green part of the leaves in between the veins), bitter as my personality but really effective www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8109180/
Yes ,my country is great, it has great places and you could live good adventures enjoying every corner with hot weather places such as León city as Chinandega , volcano surfing one of the best options may take, and cold mountains to the north zone.🎉you will enjoy it
Hey Chavalo and family, I just discovered your videos and catching up on your journey in Nicaragua. I’m also Nica, grew up in the States, and right now I’m in the process of renovating and taking care of a family property in Rivas area. I’m not familiar with the north of Nicaragua but your videos make me want to visit. Keep up the good work 🙌🏼👏🏼
Thank you very much for your videos, I just ordered your coffee for the first time and it arrived in six days. Thank you very much. Have a good time. Many blessings to you and your family.
Im glad your having an amazing time in Nicaragua brother, i live in CALI, but im from NICARAGUA ☺️, hopefully i get to see your farm soon, it must an amazing coffee ☺️☺️
Por supuesto! Vos sabes que Nicaragua tiene tierras maravillosas para el café! Soy de Leon y amo las costas de Poneloya ❤ no hay cosa más relajante que ir a poner los pies sobre la arena y escuchar las olas romper!
This was a fun video to watch! I was laughing along with you guys. Managua has peeked my curiosity and staying at Carlos’s place is on my list to do. Keep up these types of videos.
Hola Elton. Congratulations to your wife Courtney, because she is eating pizza the way it is meant to be eaten, with fork and knife. That's how Italians eat it. Also I loved Picos. I used to eat them everyday with a Coca-Cola. As Always, great video. Let me share some personal history. The pizza place is located at El Camino de Oriente. That mall used to be the hot hang out place during my teenager years (70s). it was opened around 1974 and we all hanged out by the Bowling Alley (Bolerama), La Crema Batida, El Infinito, Lobo Jack, Los Cinemas, El topkapi (still there). Take care. Saludos
Love your videos, I have been following you guys almost since the beginning, and I do share your videos with my daughter and family in the states, I want them to move here, they have visit Nicaragua when they were little, now I move back to retired I'm so happy, I leave in Matagalpa. That open mall is call Camino de Oriente. Nicaragua is so beautiful. I'm so happy for you guys and very happy you making it with your farm. Keep it up. 🙏🌹✊
Wow, Mom still working, love your video, and that was quite a chunk of change you left at that place. I don't understand the reason why electronics are so expensive in Nicaragua. That is nuts.
NICARAGUA HAS BEAUTIFUL PLACES TO VISITE,LAST TIME I WENT TO SAN JUAN DEL SUR ,MASAYA VOLCANO,CATARINA AND THEN I HAD THE OPORTUNITY TO GO TO OMETEPE ISLAND.
Dengue is terrible. I spent the better part of five days sleeping on the ceramic bathroom floor because I could not muster the effort to get from my bed to the bathroom. The next year I got chikungunya, the year after zika. Chickungunya was the worst.
Guys, you and Claudio make Managua look fun. It's so crowded and busy, when I'm there I just get overwhelmed. I laughed inside when you were having pizza...thought to myself, yup, that's Nicaragua. The music gets so loud. Next time we're in Nica we're going to either start or end our trip with some Claudio time. He seems like a great guy that enjoys showing off the part of Managua I've never experienced. Thanks for being you. We love what you're doing.
i got dengue bro, i was sick asf i thought i was gonna die. my whole body hurt. luckily my buddy came to check on me he took me to the clinic and i got a shot for 20$ i would call it a cocktail had to take the shot in my a$$ cheek. it was pretty bad plus wifey was slow to diagnose me so thank god for my buddy in honduras took good care of me and took me to the clinic on his work day.
Next time you visit managua instead of going to the pricemart supermarket better go to Porta's supermarket in villa Fontana's next to unan Managua a pretty good place and very unique things they sale there
It’s “great” how you guys live in Nicaragua while many of us cannot even travel to our own country for political reasons and you showing how “amazing” is to live in Nicaragua while people it’s been imprisoned and tortured just few km from where you record a video and talking about prices for dippers, disgusting!

Hi! Good point. here is the direction. Cornicione Pizzeria Camino de Oriente, Camino Oriente, Managua 15700
You didn’t say the name of the place of the guirilas
Flavio is a little delusional with that Pizza recommendation 😂
What she was eating at the end of the video it wasn't a "pico".... its real name is "pañuelo"... it seems like a pico, but it's different.
Interesting thansk for clarifying!
