I'm an Entrepreneurial Consultant and my next client is Graphic Designer. I research the industry to ramp up for my client. This is an incredible video. Great information and insight for designers and ME!! Thank you for this wonderful video. WOW!
Damn, one of the best episodes of the futur. Even ur show had lots of take aways from brenda. And she is amazing af! More like this please! Thanks a bunch!
This was an amazing and enlightening episode, SO MUCH MORE than the typical "design trends" video!! Can you please have a check-in with Brenda every year?? Her perspective is absolutely BRILLIANT! BLESS YOU FUTUR!
so awesome! couldn't finish the live version, so going back to it, but seriously, this was so awesome. something I love to pay attention to so it's great to see an expert relay what I'm looking at in such a organized, fantastic way.
Blown away by this video. Chris, thank you so much for making this type of content. And thank you to Brenda for coming on the show and sharing your knowledge and insights. I love getting into the more technical side of design so the information here was golden. Again, I cannot thank you guys enough for the content you share. Hi to everyone at The Futur, have a great weekend 🤙🏻
This is a genius episode. I almost feel like this should have been a paid online course session. Her information is so rich and well studied. Applying this information at scale is game-changing. Thank you again.
Awesome content! So it seems like a way to determine a brand’s authenticity to a “stand” is to look into that brand’s history to see if they're consistent with that type of messaging and truly what they stood for.
Excellent and inspiring content! I have seen many presentations like this by Pantone and at conferences, and I found this one to be most useful with Chris and Brenda's excellent dialogue about how brands can practically implement these culture-accelerating trends. I also realized that I combined the first two trends on an Instagram post I put up an hour before watching this lol!
This was a great episode. She is so smart and can explain everything so clearly! Very useful information and she said things that i would never think of, like google using the cozy trend. I learned a lot! Nice one, Chris. Keep on with the good work
Fantastic episode! Such an insightful and practical overview of the kinds of visual messaging that's trending today. Best part was the examples of how these trends are applied in "big brand" campaigns...definitely some of the most powerful ad's I've seen in a while!
Your resume at the end was unbelievable Chris. Amazing interview! Thank you. The Futur has been the most important source of information that is making me progress and achieves my goals as I never did before. Lots of love for you all.
Loved Hearing from Brenda! Could listen to her talk trends all day. Was interesting when she said they are not like fashion trends though, because the fashion trends are the same! I think the title Natural Instincts was even used in Promostyl and the sentiments are the same. Those ones stick around for years too, its just some fast-fashion high street stores will have you believe you need to buy something new every week.
Great interviewing, i liked someone else's comment here about letting her talk and asking great questions. I also thought taking the time to summarize things is a great way to wrap it all up!
Great content in a concentrated form! Thank you! ... Quick tip: @Adobe ... would be awesome if you invested in a good camera and microphone/headset for excellent speakers like Brenda Mills. An hour of laptop mic and camera is .... :-(.
haha Sharon. it's how most remote guests are equipped. only a few invest in the equipment needed to match what we got going on in the studio. but it's hard to believe a self-funded, boot-strapped operation like the Futur can have better gear than multi-billion dollar org.
Hey love your content! I have a plausible theory about the rise in the demand for more representative imagery that could ruffle feathers - I don't think its caused by a rise in consumer demand, but a fear of consumer retaliation from the intersectional fringe. People are so quick to outrage these days that content creators and brands who put themselves out there are at high alert at all times and are willing to do anything to prevent a firestorm from the left. Whether this is a good societal change or not is up for discussion, but I highly doubt that this trend is motivated by the public at large only investing in companies that grandstand with their brand's platform
I am more pragmatic. It's very easy to overthink things in the visual space, especially since you can easily superimpose subjectivity into it. Example: Natural Instincts can very much be distilled into Korean and Japanese approach to visual harmony. Ernest Femollosa was making similar discoveries of "organic wholeness" in Japanese Art at the turn of the century. Frank Lloyd credited Japan for inspiring his foray into "Organic Architecture". Japanese design has an entire subdivision dedicated to connecting flowers to ideas and emotions (Hanakotoba) etc. etc. And more presently, Korea has been pushing more organic and "natural" design trends for the better part of the last decade. It's not an inherently new discovery that requires layers and layers of interpretation and study. The world is simply being increasingly globalized, so are the unique design languages and approaches. Look at the work of Seoul based CFC studio....They've beein putting out 2019 design trends since 2013 lmao
Brands today are forced to show themselves in a specific light. We see the creativity behind the people doing it and respecting it, but this doesn't change sometimes the "trend" of expressing incredibly strong your position, because we know what happens when somebody points a finger at you now in SM and get's the political train behind him/her.
I watch this video with distinct interest, it turns out after watching the entirety of the video that trends are not trends, they are words and manipulation is injected into the system, what they describe as a natural, it’s not natural. She said she went through searches of visual trends, but then kept mentioning Adobe, obviously this is an advertising point, but most of the people searching in Adobe and other creative spaces are using passwords that have been forced onto them, words the clients have used?Words that the bosses have used? Words their friends have used... Social engineering is fascinating to me
The best part is when a company does this, people feel alienated b/c the company is grandstanding, so they unfollow/downvote the company and the company responds with "well we didnt want them anyway, they must be full of hate!" Very cool.
If you wanna get trendy in 2019 just slap some type on a shirt that says “anxiety” and you’ll get mad sales lol
and depression lol
people are dumb

Sadly, it's a marketing thing ...

Thanks a bunch!
I just got a lecture for free! Thank you futur
Learned some new buzzwords: organic, creative democracy, disruptive expression
Great episode. But i don't feel like it's "visual" trends, more like "marketing trends"
if its about selling something then it goes hand in hand. but i see your point
This was an amazing and enlightening episode, SO MUCH MORE than the typical "design trends" video!!
Can you please have a check-in with Brenda every year?? Her perspective is absolutely BRILLIANT!
BLESS YOU FUTUR!
Wow, love this episode
"God is a designer" cool hat btw😎

I really like what she did with those three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri.
What an underrated comment
Been off this channel for awhile. This was a VERY DOPE episode to jump back into The Futur.
Super super valuable! I love her explanation of visual trends in general and also how we can apply them ourselves.
Pure value content! Perfect for design business and creatives. Thanks for this visual trends and brand stand info.

Frances Mcdormand is on the show...cool

What app do you use for facetime (not skype as i can see)?
Zoom
The most informative video I've seen in a while. That Pampers and was stupid even though I agree with their message.
when you acknowledge something as a ''trend'' , you are already anticipating its ending
I love this channel

GOD IS A DESIGNER!!!!!
Was after hours fire side chat done in response to this, or were you already tapping into the trends subconsciously?
The two are not related.
Pumped Up again! Thanks! Stay Creative! ❤
You consume my time. In the best way.
Yay 😀
Man.. She really likes the word 'creativity'.
crystals
I love your hat..
Diversity inclusion marketing reminds me of the 90’s Benetton campaigns ✌️
Crystal Ricotta Quite possibly these current_year marketing gurus are not as “authentic” and “fresh” as they claim to be?
The Burger King Kids Club marketing strategy.
Same! There was also one with mothers and daughters, I cant remember if it was Benetton but it reminds me of that too!
@@rguimond 😂too true 👑
I WANT THAT HAT THO
when watch both Nike and Pampers CM, the message become much stronger.
Visual Trends 2020?! :)

I'm a guy love documentary photography. Those pictures look so fake to me and sadly, people love beautiful illusions more than real world.
I too am amused at the fact that they ‘create’ the natural look
@Chris Do. Do one for this year or 2021! Covids changed the world

She's so dedicated to her message that she colorblocked herself in her own video interview. #hero
“Question! How will this ‘grandstanding’ campaign sell more razor blades?”
“Razor blades?”
Thank you! Somebody gets it!!!
The best part is when a company does this, people feel alienated b/c the company is grandstanding, so they unfollow/downvote the company and the company responds with "well we didnt want them anyway, they must be full of hate!"
Very cool.
