Wow,,!!! , just sat outside with my mates stella and moretti, what flash backs , the eighties was definitely my era, those trucks brought back memories , even the roping and sheeting looked upoun with fond memories, the seddons the aec and atkis, sitting here thinking dad would have loved to see them , and the day he came home with a brand new scanny 111, the world wasnt big enough for his smile , can picture the day clear as day itself , memories a beutiful thing , sadly dad drives in the great skies above and beyond ,,,, me im content looking back with fondness wondering what the hell happened, anyways, musnt cry in my beer, I keep that for another day ,,,, heres to all drivers past and present 😂, cheers , its all appreciated by those who understand , thanx for videos brother ,👍👍
Thank you for sharing your memories
Really love those F series Volvo's, they had such presence. I remember being in my dads knackerd ERF as a 15 year old in the early 80's sitting at a set of traffic light's when around the corner came a brand new F12 Globetrotter with curtain side trailer. It looked like a spaceship compared to my dads wreck and the sound from the big boxy exhaust was amazing. What a sight. I'm sure i saw my dad wipe away a tear!
My first truck in Holland was a Bedford no sleepercab nothing 3ton of loading great video again
Great to see the photo of the Adtrans Scania. Must have been a hell of a journey driving all the way to the middle east and back in those days. Atkins were a local firm when I was at school in the late '70's and they used to run past my house at least a dozen times a day until they put a bloody new bypass in. Things were never the same again after that.
Simply the best such history of british haulage at its best before to much regulation from the eu . I wonder how many of these companies are going still today ? diesel at 2 pounds a litre sad day for british haulage ! . Thanks for the videos and keep posting .
I went to see my parents yesterday and my dad was saying when he first started in class 1 diesel was about £1 for 3 gallons !!! My uncle used to run his own wagons “Trevor Geddes transport” A seddon Atkinson Strato and a black Renault magnum. He felt the squeeze when it went up to £1 a litre. He wrapped it up a while ago now though.
It’s atrocious the price now mate, I went past Tesco yesterday and even that was £1.99 !!! I was watching a lad on TH-cam the other day and he was saying a barrel of oil is cheaper now than in 2008. It’s to do with the strength of the pound against the dollar.
I’ll try and find the link, it’s interesting

White American truck série cabove in British good vídeos 👍 ok🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴
Further to my comment last night realised I mean't "Astran" Scania not "Adtrans". Just in case anyone thinks I'm a bit stupid! 2.30 in the morning not a good idea to be commenting at my age.(No I had not been on the ale).
I didn't think you were stupid, just dyslexic.
I've never seen those right hand drive White cab overs. were they marketed in the UK?
Yes for a short time
