    Sweet spot is the Limited, without any add-ons. Avoid a moonroof, but gets you the blind spot, rear alert AND braking (not available in the Sport), for only $100 or so more than the Sport + moonroof/blind spot package.
    Plus whatever else the Limited gives you, basically free if you give up the moonroof.

    I want that wilderness model. I have been waiting for more than 2 years to buy a new car 🚗 and have been going crazy 🤪 doing research. I was considering Toyota Rav4 and Honda CRV and Subaru Crosstrek Sport and I really like that Crosstrek with the wilderness packag. I love the outdoors and I want my next car to be able to go on Adventures in upstate NY.

    Interesting, in Canada the Limited comes with moon roof and Harmon kardon, and the Canadian version of the sport, called Onyx also comes with moon roof and 10 way power driver’s seat with two way lumbar support.

    • @fernandoherranz4095
      @fernandoherranz4095 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have the Sport with the moon roof/power driver's seat here in the US and the only thing I wish it did better on was the city mpg. I'm hovering around 22-23mpg city, but much better on highway. I don't miss the leather trim from the Limited, and since I don't do trail running, the Wilderness trim would be overkill for me (plus much worse mpg due to the extra height/ground clearance). Overall, it's a great car so far!

  • @jeffmorse645
    @jeffmorse645 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    The Limited also comes standard with the 2.5 engine. I'd probably get the Limited because with Subaru's convoluted option packages its the only way I can get the 10 way power driver's seat without getting forced to take the sunroof (and I have a sunroof on my 2021 Legacy and it rattles - done with that).

      @@randomgrinn a car is a tool in the same way that clothing is a tool. It has a function and can be minimized down to just pure function but most people want things that appeal to them and others. If you don't think there are tools that are designed to look specific ways then you aren't paying attention. The big name brands' tools may look utilitarian but they're a heck of a lot prettier than what you would find on a jobsite and they sell a lot more of them at least partially because of that.

      @@randomgrinn A bus is a tool. A cars is art, and transportation, and can become a passion. For reliability, one may consider cars built in the 1990's, which will likely outlast all newer cars, as they do not have direct injection, CVT, expensive monitors, backup cameras, and less air bags. I take it the saying, " life is too short for ugly cars " is nothing to you, and that's fine. In new cars, it is possible that Toyota brand will get you more years with fewer problems. The safest cars, within class and price range, will be Subarus.

    If you want a Japan-built one, then you will need to get the Base or Premium 2.0L engine versions. Otherwise, it's built in the USA (the 2.5L trims). I prefer the Mazda CX-30 myself.

    • @raulsardinas2584
      @raulsardinas2584 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      for anyone shorter than 6 feet, the cx-30 is a no brainer. For taller people, the cx-30 won't work unless you want to only use 3 total seats instead of 5, no way someone can fit behind a tall person. I'm 6'3 and the cx-30 didn't work for me. I went with the crosstrek as I was even able to seat behind myself.

    Put a deposit on a premium model that the dealer had on order because car it is replacing was total loss in a accident and needed a car quicker. Would have preferred to get the sport trim. Should be here in early September?? It will be our first Subaru, my wife will be replacing her total loss Camaro.

    I am very much a fan of this new Crosstrek iteration, and the 2.5L engine with more power is a nice upgrade. However I know many people who who drive Crosstreks, and have never taken them off concrete even once. I am asserting that this vehicle is purchased not as a "rugged go any machine", but just as another SUV status symbol for suburbanites who wish to appear "rugged". The Wilderness addition owners seem even more guilty of this fallacy, at least in my part of the country.

    • @edsmith9855
      @edsmith9855 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Crosstrek isnt really a "status symbol", just a practical, easy to drive vehicle. I think the statistics are that around 30 pct or more Crosstrek owners take them off road. The big advantage, though, is in snowy climates. AWD and the higher ground clearance is why they are all over the place here in Minnesota, and other cold climates.
