Yappy - so many questions... Does the vacuum injure the bees? Also why do you use it sometimes and then scoop them other times? When does the queen get let out of her cage? What happens to the hive after removal? Thanks for the education and being a champion of the bees.
I know the answer to a couple of these! The vacuum is specially built for the bees, they're sturdy little creatures whose terminal velocity doesn't hurt them, and the suction is slight enough that it doesn't suck them up until they're practically in the tube. The hive is sent to a bee sanctuary or the like after removal, they're just rehomed, not harmed at all ^^. Scooping the bees at the start helps the person get an idea of how calm a hive they are, and sometimes it helps find the queen as well rather than indiscriminately sucking them up.

Bees only need 5/16" passage for the queen to walk right in and set up a brood area to lay her eggs at. It only takes a few weeks of their activities to be all set to have a functional hive. In the first few days of comb building, these combs are too delicate to be useful to transfer to a hive, so old comb is used from another hive's efforts and the capture can proceed. Another great video. I love it when you 'negotiate' with them. Questions - When looking for the queen, since they all gather around her, do you start looking at the clumps of bees, or is it just a matter of looking and seeing her walking around? It looks like you have to remove a few layers of bees just to find her. Next, once you put the queen in the box, how long do you leave it so the rest of the bees have time to get in there. Lastly, once you pick up the box to take them away, what do you do about any stragglers? Once you leave, they're on their own?
She's never stationary. I.just have to watch for her. I leave her in the cage about 3 days and generally, I pick the bees up after dark when they are all in the hive.
"It's so cool." Yeah, Bee Man it really is. it would be fun to be right there with ya watching ya do your stuff. Thanks for taking care of the bees! We need em!
I've watched several of your videos by now, and I love the addition of the happy little piano ditty. It's so joyful! Love what you're doing, and how you talk to the ladies. 😉
I'm not brave enough to work with bees but I sure do appreciate them and I appreciate the work you do. Because you provide this service it means that nuisance bees don't get destroyed and people don't get hurt. What is the lifespan of a normal honeybee? How about the lifespan of the queen? Do they live longer if they are kept or wild or does it matter?
I always try to keep calm around bees, even trying to help them when I see lone ones that seem in a bit of a predicament, but I've never had the confidence to touch or pick them up with my bare hands. Wish I could join you on a job like this to try and get that out my system, to see how a hive reacts first hand would make things so much easier.
Nice catch! You were here on my hometown, I would have loved to assisted on this! My hives are preparing for winter. Another great video I’ll be watching! Thanks!

Wow. I have always been deathly afraid of bees even though I love what they do and want to save them. I just found your channel and really enjoyed watching your expertise. Keep on keeping these precious bees safe. Up here in Canada we are losing a lot of our bee population due to various reasons.
This man is holding a stinging insect more carefully than I ever held my kids. No wonder they tolerate, like love him. I’ve heard of hives that need to be euthanized because of temperament. Has Yappy ever had to deal with a hive like that. New to the channel.
No, I don't ever recall his destroying a colony because it's mean. The nasty ("Africanized") bees are limited to Florida. If a colony is bad tempered, just replace the queen.
There are certain people, many of them content creators on YT that can grab a couple hundred bees in both hands or let a highly venomous black widow or scorpion crawl on their arm with no problem whatsoever. Lol,as for me,I'll never know what that's like.

Grew up in rural Upstate NY in the heart of dairy country and was always seeing bees. Used to help our neighbor (dairy farmer) out with haying and the hay mow was hot and full of hornets and purple wasps. Got stung a few times, but usually if you don't swat at them or get too close to their nests there were no issues. Did a lot of woodchuch hunting and encountered lots of honey bees in the clover, but they were pretty docile. I always did my best not to mess with or hurt them. We liked them in our garden and always had enough dandelions to keep them fed in the early Spring. Great videos! Keep them coming.
I absolutely adore the way you could talk to these sweet ladies and treat them so well ❤️❤️❤️ I love bees too! I hope to be able to have my own someday. I subscribed!
I have alot of respect for all of nature. I would rather be a part of it than a bystander. My other fun is falconry. In the fall, I hunt with a redtail hawk. It's amazing to have a bird from the wild and teach it ways of accepting me as a hunting partner and not as a predator.
I had more fun with this amazing capture than I could have imagined. Enjoy. th-cam.com/video/jUlHI_v4Tjs/w-d-xo.html

We need em!
Yappy I really appreciate watching you work. Keep those videos coming!
Thanks for checking them out. Its always a pleasure to share so.e good fun.
I've watched several of your videos by now, and I love the addition of the happy little piano ditty. It's so joyful! Love what you're doing, and how you talk to the ladies. 😉
I really love to see the slow motion of the bees...it's so fascinating
I'm not brave enough to work with bees but I sure do appreciate them and I appreciate the work you do. Because you provide this service it means that nuisance bees don't get destroyed and people don't get hurt.
What is the lifespan of a normal honeybee? How about the lifespan of the queen? Do they live longer if they are kept or wild or does it matter?
Hello 👋 Lethia
How are you doing today
Thanks to everyone who relocates bees and not just kill and ask questions later.
I never seen bees so docile to where you can scoop them in your hand and not get stung. Very neat to see.
Beautiful to watch you work with their community!! Amazing interaction!!
You've made some one very happy, God Bless you.
You were very sympathetic the way you handled that move... From a loghive colony owner (wild be colony - no honey taken)
Nice catch! You were here on my hometown, I would have loved to assisted on this! My hives are preparing for winter. Another great video I’ll be watching! Thanks!
You are very inspirational and we need more people like you. Providing positive feelings about one of our most valuable resources. Great job 👍
Love the March. I have already caught 4 swarms in the last week. Got them on ready comb and feeding them. I think I can get them through the winter they would not make it without help for sure. Great video and nice job 👏 👍 ❤🐝🐝
Hi, Mr; Beeman thank you for safe the Bee
Been missing you guys lately. Heard from JP once. I got bees back in my wall again. They died out one winter and found them all on the snow.
Great video. The happy dance jig at the top of the ladder brought a smile.
Thanks for keeping your videos kid-friendly. 😁 My daughter and I are having a great time watching them together. One question: where do you relocate the bees?
What is not "kid friendly"?
@@markmiller3713 I would guess expletives.
I've watched a few of your video's now - I've known honey bees are special for a while, but seeing you handle them has totally blown my mind. They are such gentle creatures. I really appreciate you putting up these videos. I've gained a new appreciation for the li'l guys
Wow. I have always been deathly afraid of bees even though I love what they do and want to save them. I just found your channel and really enjoyed watching your expertise. Keep on keeping these precious bees safe. Up here in Canada we are losing a lot of our bee population due to various reasons.
These videos make me happy, you bring great energy to your videos. It awesome seeing someone excited with something they are passionate about.

Yes seems like she is definitely in CONTROL of their dispositions
There are certain people, many of them content creators on YT that can grab a couple hundred bees in both hands or let a highly venomous black widow or scorpion crawl on their arm with no problem whatsoever. Lol,as for me,I'll never know what that's like.
@@kevinbyrne4538 they are here throughout Texas too.
@@kevinbyrne4538 Africanized bees are not limited to Florida by a long shot.
VERY, VERY sweet tempered bees! So impressed!
It's nice to know removal can be done so gently and safely.
The Girls were comfortable with you right away.
You must be a natural bee charmer. 🐝💐🐝
I am allergic to bees, and it makes no sense for me to be sitting here watching you do what you do. Yet here I sit, enthralled.
Bees have that effect. Seriously
It makes the most sense! You've had an adversarial relationship with them because of an unfortunate allergy, and this lets you overcome that.
I am new on your channel and I am truly amazed that tout are able to handle complete hive without any protection whatsoever. It is truly amazing and I have never seen this on European channels ! Hi from Belgium
I'd love to see some wild bee hive moving like the big fluffy ones
Nice job takin' care of your little friends. Keep up the good work and have a blessed Easter!👍😎❤️🙏
This is just amazing...
Great job saving the bees.
You are INSANE!!!! I am now a fan and my notifications are set. I love this channel. 99% of us are scared or just stay away from bees. Well not you. Thanks this is also showing another side to NOT KILLING THEM and just have a pro remove and relocate. AWESOME
That was awesome footage of the 🐝. 👍 👌
Yappy I love your bee removal videos most.. would like to see follow-up video with where you place them after you've rescued them last thing it's amazing how you seem to always know where the Queen bee 🐝 is just from looking at how the bee's are reacting
You will be happy in the very near future. I'm starting a 2nd channel and that is one of the things that will be featured. Stay tuned.
Great educative video! Great!!!!!!
Beautiful video, Yappy. Glad you rescued those ladies and glad to see the Queen was looking so good while in the bee vacuum! You know they were happy to find her with them. Happy New Year to you and yours!
Hello 👋 julie
How are you doing today
Absolutely amazing! No gear, no smoke...no fear. Bees are God's great gift to humanity. Great video and great work! 👍
Yo
Yo Back......lol You win first comment
You are amazing!! I swell up like a balloon if I get stung, so I can't do anything with bees. Thank you for showing your adventures! I love watching you.
I never thought I'd be binge watching bee videos but I just found your channel today and that's exactly what I'm doing. Lol. It's just so interesting and almost calming to watch.
I love how gentle he is and how he talks to them like each one is special. I know, it's in his best interest to be gentle. Watching his videos has helped me calm the fear of bees that I grew up with. Now when I see them I just think of them doing their job instead of assuming they're going to come after me.
@@lisadioguardi5742 I'm usually not afraid of bees when I see them but every once in awhile I get one that is most definitely following me and buzzing in my face and I try to run away in a panick. And of course they follow me anyway . Other than that I don't mind them at all because I was taught they won't bother me unless I bother them at a young age . Hornets and wasps are a whole different story though. I'm terrified
moved to FL last year and it’s time to get back into bees. your video pushed me off the ledge! wish you were closer to show me the southern methods of beekeeping. well done.
As someone who is allergic to bees I envy this man's ability to literally just scoop them up in his hand and be able to handle them without protective gear
I don’t know any other way to say it. You sir are brilliant. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I subscribed! That is amazing that you do not kill the bee's and give them a new place to thrive!Kudos to you!
You have beautiful touch with these little creatures.
Hello Mr. Yappee, I found your channel a little while back, and I am totally hooked. If I wasn’t allergic to bees, I would think that was really cool.
Sounds like a great time. And I will definitely be posting many more. Thanks for dropping by
I absolutely adore the way you could talk to these sweet ladies and treat them so well ❤️❤️❤️ I love bees too! I hope to be able to have my own someday. I subscribed!
Bees are adorable. I’d never be able to keep them, but they’re just the best.
I have apiaphobia, and yet I love watching your videos...IDK how you're not stung more; they must sense your love for them.
I can't say it's "love" for them or more of a respect. But they do tolerate me more than I deserve.
@@YappyBeeman I don't think you'd be in this business if you didn't at least feel a great deal of affection and respect for bees.
I have alot of respect for all of nature. I would rather be a part of it than a bystander.
My other fun is falconry. In the fall, I hunt with a redtail hawk. It's amazing to have a bird from the wild and teach it ways of accepting me as a hunting partner and not as a predator.
Thank you for interesting video. Best wishes and great respect to the entomologists and devoted beekeepers!
