You are so skilled and confident. I love the fact that you teach us folk things that others either don't have the skill and know how to teach us or think that it's a trade secret that they want to keep to themselves, respect 😘
Thankyou ive just found yr channel & yr the first person ive seen do an installl showing me which silicone to use & just how to do it properly, ive only been doing stained glass for 17 months i watched someone i couldnt see proerly o you tube install but they installed over a clear glass window, so im just glad i found you yay Thankyou 😊
You are so incredibly knowledgeable. Thoroughly enjoy your videos! I’m curious as to how you would price a rebuild and reinstall. Is it by the square foot and/or by the hour?
I generally price by my day rate - so I judge how long it will take then add an extra day's margin. Then I add some for materials. I have a separate removal installation price which is a bit less than my day rate per visit.
@@SophiesStainedGlass Thank you! Do you have a video on how to install multi part panels that are attached with saddle bars? For example, a church window that was built in three stacking parts. Any advice on how those are built and installed including proper attachment of the copper wire would be amazing to learn!
Hallo and thank you very much for your video. I´d like to see some another video on how to take the glass panel from the door in the future. I´m afraid the silicon is too tough and may cause some damage while removing - compare to some older techniques like glazier´s putty. All the best, Milan
Hmm tricky! When I encounter silicone (rarely) I use a sharp blade - but I assume you've tried that. Sadly sometimes you will damage the window. More commonly, I find I damage the door as the putty is often stronger than the old wood and it pulls bits of wood out with it.
Sophie you are a true inspiration! I love learning from you on these video lessons, and from reading your beautiful book! Thank you!
Thanks so much for your support and for buying my book!

This was such a great video on installation! It has helped me learn so much! Thank you!!!
So please to hear it and good luck with your project.
Thank you Sophie for another informative video, for someone starting out in stained glass your guidance is clear and easy to follow.
Great tutorial, thank you. I think the squeaky door is jealous and wants some stained glass LOL..
You’re welcome 😊

Are the lead cames around the edge of the window H cames or solid?
