In all seriousness that would normally be a very traumatic thing to witness. But in this case everyone hated that guy anyway, so we just thought it was funny.
I just like how the marine has plot armor when he's with Master Chief
Canonically, everyone who fights alongside the Master Chief gets a morale boost, which usually means they fight better. Sometimes the boost is so great that it looks like plot armor. One notable case involved a Marine who was about to desert after seeing the Flood on Earth, and then the Chief showed up. He was immediately inspired to keep fighting, and ended up surviving the battle.
It must be the best feeling in the world fighting 7-8 foot tall lizard men with guns that melt you and 9-10 foot tall rhino apes that rip and tear for chief to show up and 360 no scope sniper head shot every enemy.
You don't understand. Chief IS the plot armor.
Chief is literally a god in the haloverse. Imagine being asked to fight and die in a biblical war you didn't believe in until asked by the greatest hero in existence. If Jesus christ showed irl non believers would believe. Sane with zeus, Odin, etc
honestly, if you're a marine, you should probably be shitting yourself if the Chief shows up. Not only does it mean that the situation is so dire that the Chief is there, but also that the Covenant will basically send everything they have to stop him, and you're gonna get caught in the crossfire. That or he'll take your rocket launcher and give you a pistol. Or he'll somehow launch himself across the planet using a few grenades.

Inaccurate. Accurate Chief would’ve grabbed a grunt and thrown it at the carrier at just under the speed of light, shattering it into a million fragments.

I do wonder why Chief doesn't simply jump across the entire planet with a single jump in order to destroy every Covenant ships with one punch.

The lore Accurate is actually nobody is driving the Warthog , Its chiefs Clone or Invisible Chief Magic.
The only thing not lore accurate is the Marine actually driving a straight line and not directly off a cliff
