    Vous avez transformé un endroit plutôt morne en un éclatant paysage qui nous fait aimer ces couleurs pas très évidentes pourtant. C'est génial de vous regarder peindre ! Merci pour ces moments si généreux que vous nous offrez.

    This is very much the style and color choices of Betty Anglin Smith in Charleston SC. I always wondered how she did those wild colors. Actually yours is better! She is very popular in this area and her paintings bring a lot of money. I’m so happy to better understand the color choices.

    AGAIN Amazed!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure I could go so bold. Maybe I am just stuck on blue water but Yours WORKS! When you added just a touch of that deep red it really jumped off the paper. Great choice but there has to be some reason you chose that red at that time because it was more dark red and you were into the mid tones. Loved the green cast to sky and water. This just makes me look forward to seeing you in class in May! Get ready cause I ask a lot of questions. LOL! Loved this and thank you for the pallet lay out. So very generous.

    Another fantastic lesson in color - almost don't paint what you see, but paint what you feel. As an alumnus of your brilliant class I still appreciate the magic you create. I would like to do themes with twilight, lamplight. Not Kincaid though -- lol. Maybe you can do one of those some day? As always, your lessons really inspire me to paint, especially in the middle of January. Many thanks. Chris

    Alain, is it possible to do a painterly style along with realism, in the same painting? I guess I’m thinking of pet portraits (which is my main thing) where the subject is realism but, the background is a more painterly style ? Would that be successful or would it just be a bit of a messy odd mix?

    • @AlainPicard
      @AlainPicard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's what I try to do in my portrait work often, combine realism in the face with some painterly expression in the background and even clothing. It works wonderfully when you get it right!
