+Tenaciousdomi awesome! Have this in consideration though, to avoid the same issue in the near future, you should also clean the drive flange or at least blow it with an air compressor. This will remove most of the rust chips inside making it harder for new rust chips to get attracted to the sensor's magnet

Geat video I have e46 I took it for a drive went to stop and take off again and it wouldn't move so I put it in reverse and back into drive and it went again it shifts good runs great and my anti control light is on do u know if this is problem

My 2003 320d shows the same lights, (handbrake, ABS, and the triangle with an arrow around it) how do I know wich wheel sensor is in need of cleaning/changing? Am I only able to know that by connecting to the "computer" in the obdII port?
Is there a sensor for each wheel? How do you know which to replace? I'm not getting any codes from ODB, and I only have the yellow triangle light on.
Hi. I'm from South Africa. I have the same car. had my front suspension done over, and my tyre pressure and traction/handbrake lights are remaining on. I am unable to reset the lights using the buttons below Aircon control unit. Read elsewhere that the lights come on if alignment isn't done. I had the alignment done, and the lights are still on. any tips on resetting them? I have checked my ABS sensors, and none of them appear to be damaged. The lights only came on after driving about 15kms away from the workshop where I had the suspension done. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
I had a bad abs sensor on the right rear, but it was stuck. For it to get out i had to split the housing. 4 torix bolts on the back. It had to be drilled out. Even if i cleanded the surface with sandpaper the new sensor would be hard to get in and out. Which wasnt a big deal cause the bolt broke anyways.
Can you help me out , i have all 3 lights but my brake light is in red? This means its one of my Rear sensors is bad because brake light is red while driving and abs and dsc is on yellow? Thankyou so much!

Thanks a lot mate..I bought the left front speed sensor today and managed to put the new one in although it's not a perfect fit..however all the lights are still on ABS n handbrake so I'll will try clean the rear sensors too although the diagnosis is only showing passenger side that's got these faults below
- voltage supply control unit too low
- steering angle sensor, internal
- left front speed sensor, pulse gear
- left front speed sensor, accident recognition

+keith slimdunkin steering angle sensor ir a diferent sensor and you're also getting voltage too low on the control unit
I replaced my abs sensor and the light turned off after driving around for a little then it cut back on about 10 minutes later . I went inside for about 15 minutes cam back out to go to the grocery store and it cut right back on an now it's staying on . What could be my problem ?

Loved the video. My Problem. . I have a 1999 BMW 328i sedan. Had my brake fluid and all other fluids changed out. New brake pads and, rotors changed out March of this year. Last month my rear Differential failed and now that that was replaced the ABS lights stays on and the brakes seem hot to the touch after short drives. Might the brakes be engaged?? The rotors feel hot when I have done very little braking and I am looking at replacing all the ABS sensors. Suggestions please.
only a diagnostic tool will tell you the exact meaning of those lights, most commonly these are ABS sensor faults. Since you mention the differential, try checking first if they are plugged properly, if they are, you can risk buying the rear ones first, you'll spend about 40US on both shipped

These 3 lights indicate a problem with rear sensors (most of the time), if speedo doesn't work, problem is in the rear driver side (left side driver)
@@oneminutefixed5003Yup, drove today through some puddles and I get some christmas lights and a non functioning speedo. Hope a good cleaning with some electrical spray will fix it, else new one asap because in a week I have the annual tehnical inspection. XD

Replaced both front and lights still on! (ABS and traction control only)
I got this exact problem while driving to work in heavy rain, my bmw scanner 1.4 says it's the rear left. I ordered a new one since it was only 13€, it's not worth it to try to clean it and spend all the time removing the wheel and having a chance it's actually broken instead of just being dirty. But honestly it's probably either just dirty or has corrosion in the connector since it happened in the rain.

I have a BMW 325i 2001 and the DSC and brake light both come on randomly . They turn off when I turn the car back on, I drive for a little bit the dsc light blinks by its self and my car makes a strange vibration then the brake light in yellow comes along with it and the car is normal again . I have problem with my e46 325i /2001
When I start the car and see this sign faulty transmission , the car can drive on reverse and other gears except for first gear.
If I start the car and sign does not show on dashboard, the car only drives on first gear 35 Km speed max.
Took it to many mechanics and nobody could fix it.
First guy said he fixed alternator and reprogrammed ECM , The second told me to check and change Positon switch which I did today and still problem not fixed .Now they are saying its the alternator which the first guy fixed.

Le mieux c'est de faire un scan obd2 sur la voiture ça te donnera directement lequel est défectueux.
D'après les forums si tu as le compteur de vitesse qui va plus, l'abs, le traction control et le frein à main qui est allumé, c'est l'arrière gauche, et il y a des différents symptômes pour les autres.
En tout cas sur la mienne c'était correct, parce que j'avais ces symptômes et l'ordinateur m'indique bel et bien l'arrière gauche. On verra au remplacement, j'ai commandé la pièce je regardais justement cette vidéo pour voir un peu comment c'est fait. Perso je me fierais pas trop à ces rumeurs, pas sur que ce soit pas une coïncidence dans mon cas.
Je te conseille quand même de faire un scan, soit t'as un pote garagiste, soit tu peux acheter le tien, moi j'ai acheté un BMW scanner 1.4 sur eBay ça coute 15€, tu peux même faire du coding, juste pour installer le software sous Windows 10 faut un peu bidouiller. Sinon il y a les ELM327 ça coute moins de 10€, c'est pour toutes les voitures, ça se connecte en bluetooth sur un téléphone android et avec l'appli torque tu sais lire les codes défaut.

Hey there, I got this aftermarket off ebay. As you can see, this one specifically didn't fit very well, but it's worth the shot at 20€ shipped (was the only one that didn't fit well). You can also get them at BMW for 100€ a piece. Never buy these used

the lights go off while driving? sometimes don't ? that is definitely sensor related ! replace them and clean the flange (not shown in this video)
So just going by memory... On a US Model Isn't the Rear Left Drivers Side Sensor the one that is also responsible for the Speedometer. So if I have all the symptoms except for my Speedometer is still working this time??? Wouldn't It likely be the Rear Right Passenger side Sensor. or... While on that train of thought I find myself wondering when either of the front sensors fail How does the fault present itself and how would someone determine which sensor in that situation? I haven't had a front one to replace yet unless that's what's happened this time around?

hi I'm having the same problem with all of three lights on ( orange triangle in the middle dashboard, red breaks and orange abs light on the right. my mecanick did the diagnose with a non original software and it came up error with ABS dsc module. What have i to do now? I have already taked and payd him for other maintenaces of the car (oil change, filter, breaks pads, tensioner and a little lost of oil from a sensor in the engine. He can't do this restoration coz he's not able with his instrumentation. Can you help me the right software and cable to try my self reading errors. I'm fast pretty sure I need the K-DCAN cable but for what concern the SW I'm totaly insicure. Does the ABS still work when the light is on? My traction control light stays on, but my ABS still works. Can a bad wheel speed sensor cause the traction control to stop working, but still allow the ABS to work?
If the ABS light is on then the ABS will not work. I think a bad wheel speed sensor can cause t-control to stop working but not the abs, but im not sure tho. For me i think both the ASC and ABS lights came on at the same time. Try cleaning front ones and see if the problem is solved, if that didn't work then clean the rear ones.

hi also when on speedo meter is on 0mph just remove the abs and acs fues from the fues box for about 1 mint and put then back. also dignoses system fuse.

Hey man, abs sensor/speedo sensor it's all referring to the same piece. The problem you describe indicates possible rear abs sensor fault, check driver side abs sensor, clean both ends with wd40 and contact spray on the plug. Do the lights come on and off? Or so they stay permanent?

Yes it will, I had the exact same problem and it was the rear speed sensor on the drivers side that went bad completely

Could that be the reason I can’t do a burnout cause of the lights on the dash and that’s why the light in the middle is on and won’t let me loose traction cause of the sensors
When the light comes on traction control and abs are shut down. So you just need to work on that burnout

the thing is that if i start the car without hand break and without putting foot on break padle the all lights goes off, but if i start the car with breaks or with hand break the lights of abs and hand break comes on the board computer if you have any idea abut that problem please please please rlp me

Only way to sort out those weird problems is by using a diagnostic tool like inpa or pa soft, I have a video review on it

Is it usually the rear passenger side when lights come on the dash?
With these lights could be any of the rear, could be just dirt on the sensor and flange. If you clean them and the problem comes back after a couple of weeks it is probably dirty flange, you need to remove the break pad to clean it
My ABS, Asc and hand break light came on but also the spedo is stuck on 0mph, was your spedo affected by bad sensors or have I got a separate fault to the spedo? Cheers
Yes, that would be the rear driver's side abs sensor. It could be just dirty, mine was broken (literally cut in half) clean it, if the light comes back on later you'll have to clean the insides behind the rotor

Jayson Bowe hey there, if you only have the ASC\DSC + ABS light on (yellow ones) it is front wheel related, handbrake indicates problem in the rear wheels. One thing to notice though, the abs \ asc module is located in the engine bay which causes the soldering to go dry and crack, these bad contacts may also be the culprits.
Jayson Bowe i say if you dont have the odb2 cables to check where the problem is, jsut spray the contacts (with contact spray) on the sensor plugs first and see if the problem goes away, you don't even have to take the wheels off to perform this
Picked up a 2002 316ti and a 2001 330ci and same problem on both cars. Abs and dsc light on in yellow and handbrake light on in red. Discs and pads needed doing on the 316 and they still on. So do you think I should replace the rears?? (Yet to assess the 330)
Only machine can tell for sure, but since those lights indicate problem with rear abs, and because those rear sensors are so easily removable, you might as well give a try cleaning them

yes, that would be on the rear ones causing the problem, if i'm not mistaken should be the rear righ side (passengers side) on a left sterring wheel driving car

Even the emergency brake light is on but its yellow not red. So your saying replace the sensor on the right ( american passenger side ) rear ?

How if the light is still on after you clean up and change the sensor? Is it doesn't matter? In my case the light is still on
From these experiences, I learned that cleaning the sensors is just a temporary solution from the problem. These need to be replaced. Keep in mind that these lights probably indicate sensor failure, it is also possible (but no common) that It also refers to problems with the abs module. Only diagnostic tool can tell
What may happen if you dont change this rear abs sensor?
Oscaritohn you loose traction control which in rear pulling cars like this may cause spinning

its raving itself up, down repeatedly, what could be the problem? What the little meter under the rave mater doesn’t move.
I replaced all four on my 98 740il and still had a light come back on do I need to drive it more or recheck the sensors.

oh ok I didn't do that the lights were off after I pit the new ones in but when I started backing out of the drive they came on.

keith slimdunkin That is odd since the handbrake usually indicates a problem with the rear ones. Before replacing check out the contacts on the plug and spray with contact spray if needed. Ideally you'll want to make sure enough voltage is being delivered to this sensor by using a multimeter . Lastly, you can try to pull out the abs sensor from the socket but do not force it too much or you'll end up breaking it. Also, if you are going to buy aftermarket , non oem sensors , keep in mind that the plugs don't fit too well and they don't make the distinction between left and right wheels.
keith slimdunkin also note that if the lights come on while driving this could indicate the steering angle sensor need recalibrating (achievable with DIS). The anti-lock system in this car is very complex and requires a bunch of parts to work correctly

Hey there, I can't remember the codes because I don't have the car anymore, but have you swaped both? Remember you must drive a few meters for the lights to go off
The problem is with rear right (by code).
If I delete with pc the code then it will come back in about 1 minute. Abs cube?

Nuno Costa when my heater stopped working I had to swap FSR /FSU, stands for final stage resistor and its a pain to swap

Do you only have yellow asc and abs light on? What was the exact code and what are you using to read the codes? By your description it could be front wheel speed sensors

+Abdallah Albaraa could be a number of reasons, i've read that steering angle could be bad or in need of calibration. Only the error details can specify what it is
