Give this guy some slack haters. Dude bought what we could and is making the best of what he has. All that matters is he enjoys the car and it puts a smile on his face.
There's a number of cars that could have been bought that would've been way more fun. MX5, Eclipse GS-T or GSX, 3000 GT VR4, Subaru Impreza 2.5rs, Nissan 240SX, Toyota MR2, Flip up light Supra (I'm assuming 2nd gen?), Any V8 Mustang or Camaro, 350Z, Bug eye WRX, Lexus IS300 and more all lower or slightly higher than the price range of this boring garbage.
this guy was great, you were holding conversation perfectly and the owner knows that his car isn't some internet breaking beast, it is just a simple honda that will make anyone driving it smile, great stuff need more owners like this guy
I don't get why you'd show up with a defective car, but judging by some of the cars people have let Matt drive, i guess it's only me having a little pride and concern for the safety of others. Besides whatever that vibration is about: I do have a lot of love for cars of this type, especially the fun variations of the Civics aso. So easy to make a fun car out of them, and even this one actually sounds quite decent when thrashed.
Since he is now offering you his friendship, i think you should go for it Mk2Escort :) Him and his Acura with two different interiors. Having checked out his WheelWell, i'm sure to remember him for when i need to sell a car. I'll have him take the photos :D ..oh and i do agree. He seems like a fun guy.
Alex K that’s the base fr? I have a base that’s swapped to a jdm k20a from the k20a3 it runs about 224whp with a staged clutch and cai plus oil crank case breather it’s pretty ballsy it’ll chirp into 3rd on accident I need to boost it then post a video it’s already pretty Ballsy
@red top k20 its the itr jdm k20a with a stage 2 exedy clutch and few littlw goodies but I can't wait to boost it and cam it

@@thatdudesomeghost ... Nice.. Yeah the k20a and the z1 have the best cylinder head and are the most capable.. If you boost it tho id recommend going supertech valvetrain.. Stock can handle some boost but problem comes down to all the redlining ull have to do when boosted to gain traction.. Having that supertech vavlvetrain will allow u to beat the shit out of the car with little worries.. Obviously tune is critical as well
I had the 02 like this one. They need to bring this back, it was so well put together. You could do anything to this car. Anyone who owned one of these can tell you the car is solid. The base has a lot of kick to it. Good acceleration fantastic handling. I would get one of these again in a minute if they brought it back.
I really liked this one take. Yeah its not the fastest car in the world but it looked pretty clean and had a couple of basic mods to it. I like reviews like this because lets be honest, these kind of cars are the ones people my age are driving.
A base rsx is pretty boring lol it was really only meant to be a reliable Honda. A type s with the better engine and 6 speed is a pretty fun car, on the other hand.
This was such a fun One Take!! Both of Matt and the owner are acknowledging the faults of the car, but you can just tell the owner loves his car and enjoys the little odd bits it has going on.. And I'm sure Matt is just relating to all of it as well. It was just great to see this positiveness in the car community.
as a fellow owner of an rsx ( mine is a type s) i dont really appreciate how hes talking about his car. fix your car up and if i ever head up there ill get you to drive the turbo
My wife bought one of these right after she graduated college late 2001 as the 2002 model when the car first came out. (RSX base, 5mt)We Drove it for 15 years virtually problem free and sold it last year with 86k miles 100% original. The typeS of course has the engine that brings the cars chassis to life, but a base model with a manual is better than a base model with an auto..which they did offer. They are a great used car value if you can find a good one, imo.
I love my RSX Type-S. It's not the fastest thing in the world but it is a great compromise between fun, reliability, and fuel economy. They make great daily drivers without sacrificing fun. And they rev to the moon and back, gotta love it.
Nothing wrong with a base. With all the mods he has its an extremely fun to drive. I have basically the same mods with hondata And i love it. Doing A2 head/cam swap soon too
I owned a low mileage '04 similar to this with A-Spec springs and Koni Yellow shocks, exhaust, intake and Hondata ECU tune. Quick and practical, controls better than the '06 BMW 330Ci that replaced it with its butter churn shifter. The steering and shifter were perfect, the small leather covered wheel just right, drove from Santa Maria to Tacoma up 101 most of the way and had a blast. A great all-around sporty coupe with the hatch, wide enough for a golf bag. The BMW was a much better cruiser and the rear of the RSX is bouncy no matter how the shocks are tuned, not enough suspension travel. Sold it with 92K on the odo....and wish I hadn't! Bottom line - the BMW was far superior on the freeway and at high speed, but for normal driving the RSX was better, especially carving thru traffic.
Steering can be sharpened in the middle to laser precision. You just get the 40mm wrench from the dealer, undo the lock nut on the rack and tighten the bolt, then tighten the 40mm lock nut. A constant issue on Honda racks, but easy to fix.
For a change, despite the lack of proper Type R, America didn't eat a bag of dicks with this car quite like we did with most other Honda performance cars; we got the Type-S instead. It didn't rev quite as high as the Type R, but it made similar power-and-torque figures using a lot of the Type R's engine goodies. Additionally, cars that had the A-Spec Performance Package ---a dealer installed option--- on top of the "base" Type-S were closer still to the Type Rs. It had what was effectively the JDM Modulo bodykit with a Type R wing and sportier suspension than the standard Type-S, plus different alloy wheels and some other assorted goodies. So in the grand scheme of things, we didn't lose out too badly here.
***** Man the EP3 Type R is like a hot hatch staple here in the UK. The DC5 is a fairly rare sight but still quite common. I drove a friends DC5 and man it was awesome. I am a BMW fanboy through and through but I was honestly tempted to sell up and buy a DC5 or an S2000
Yeah, we got the DC2 Type R from '97 to '01, though the car took the 1999 model year off. That's been it, in terms of Type Rs, at least until this latest upcoming Civic Type R hits the scene.
the base and premium engine the k20a3 have a different type of vtech. the second intake opens at 2300 for same duration and height as first. and the timing advances at 4700 and that is noticeable but not the same as the type s or r vtech. i have an 06 canadian based premium rsx with the a3 engine and leather interior.
Hey Matt! If you're ever up in the North Bay, I have a dead-stock, stripper-model 1984 Mazda RX7 GS (FB) with your name on it. No power steering, 5-speed, carbureted 12A rotary. I've never seen you drive one, so you're welcome to it.
I enjoyed this review. Honestly more interesting than the porsches, for me at least. I like seeing the basic cars, even if this could have had more mods
love seeing the cars with higher mileage so it gives me an idea of how they age. lol a ford of this same year would have been scraped due to major engine failure. I don't know why people hate the Honda's so much
Arc Nine I could say the same thing about my Windstar it has 250k. but it's on its second engine and trans. so yea I could say it went 250k miles right
Matt I don't know if you're still looking for a GT350R but there is a yellow one here in Lititz, PA for sale for I think 87K. If you buy it you better hook me up with a ride.
Why did this car get a video on this channel? lol. I had a 04 Type S, and cried tears of joy when I sold it. Overrated, underpowered, & 2nd gear was failing at 125k.
Like the cat Matt (no Dr. Zeuss today) Can you please make my day and answer this: a few years back there was a mid engined Kei car that peaked your interest - what was the make and model of that car? A thousand thank you's.
"I hit a pothole about a year ago" LMFAO boy do I wish I could say that living in NYC. More like I hit a pothole about a second ago and here's another pothole a second later.
Was surprised at the condition of the paint, honestly. Did Acura / Honda cheap out or is that Cali sun damaging the finish? I swear, watching this channel is going to push me over the edge to rehab my aging '01 Integra GS-R sedan. I love that thing, but the suspension needs replacing and a few engine compartment bits need work.
TheSmokingTire year stalked that by now and it's great!!. An additional look on your Aston would be so cool, found no vid on yt where you drive or talk about it indeed (instead pits and peces)
Yeah I don't want to make videos with that car. That car is for me, and it's not a good look to be on TH-cam talking about your exotic cars. I don't like talking about my own cars and stuff in videos, so I only make the minimum number of videos of my own cars required for tax purposes (so they are writeoffs as production expenses). Since I don't need any writeoffs for the Aston, I have no incentive to make a video about that car where I come off looking like one of those guys who makes videos about their own exotic cars.
Give this guy some slack haters. Dude bought what we could and is making the best of what he has. All that matters is he enjoys the car and it puts a smile on his face.
He decided to mod his car before he fixed it. He's just a dumbass and people are pointing it out
sk84life311 I modded it before it started vibrating though
Steven Salazar you tell them!
exactly as long as he enjoys his car what else matters?
There's a number of cars that could have been bought that would've been way more fun. HAHA, you do me very well!
And here I thought Mr. Regular does not kiss and tell.

OMG HI MR. REGULAR!
That's half the reason that none of WANT to stop watching.
i didn't catch the rcr reference, where was it?
this guy was great, you were holding conversation perfectly and the owner knows that his car isn't some internet breaking beast, it is just a simple honda that will make anyone driving it smile, great stuff need more owners like this guy
I always come to the comments section to see what the experts have to say
wtf no hand shake?
He doesn't shake hands with guys who wear torn jean shorts
Unacceptable!
Mustafa Filiz not to the dumbass that doesn't fix a vibration issue but gets an exhaust sway bars and wheels first dumbass
lonewolf5460 but I got the parts before the vibration *the more you know*
Hating on Honda's
Any vibration should be addressed.
How should I address the Vibes coming from my Hasport MM's? lol
I don't get why you'd show up with a defective car, but judging by some of the cars people have let Matt drive, i guess it's only me having a little pride and concern for the safety of others. Besides whatever that vibration is about: I do have a lot of love for cars of this type, especially the fun variations of the Civics aso. mk2escort I like you
Let's be friends lol
Since he is now offering you his friendship, i think you should go for it Mk2Escort :) Him and his Acura with two different interiors. Having checked out his WheelWell, i'm sure to remember him for when i need to sell a car. I'll have him take the photos :D
..oh and i do agree. He seems like a fun guy.
Matt: "vtec! There it is up top!"
Guy: "it actually has no actual real vtec."
Matt: "(matt's mouth is gaping)."
I LOLed!

not only is it not the fastest, it would get smoked by most v6 family sedans and inline 4 family sedans would be competitive.
OMG Where did you get that wall art in the intro? That is so fucking SICK!
Natural Progression it's called linear edge
What a boss. Thanks for the response man.
i got a spa-francorchamps one for my dad for christmas. he absolutely loves it. hung it up in his shop :)
A base rsx is pretty boring lol it was really only meant to be a reliable Honda. A type s with the better engine and 6 speed is a pretty fun car, on the other hand.
XxChuyoxX I agree
XxChuyoxX I have a type s and love it
XxChuyoxX rsx blows!!
why would you get a type s. when you could get or import a type r lol
rusty _
Because you can add aftermarket parts to a type s and make faster/better for cheaper
I can tell Matt was enjoying the vibration lol nice car man!
This was such a fun One Take!! Both of Matt and the owner are acknowledging the faults of the car, but you can just tell the owner loves his car and enjoys the little odd bits it has going on.. That warm air intake, for even less power than stock!
Warm intake makes more power than the stock one fyi
I like any one takes where Matt and the owner seem to have an actual good time while being in the vehicle together
the reason you don't hear that much VTEC is because only the intake side open and type S both side open intake and exhaust
as a fellow owner of an rsx ( mine is a type s) i dont really appreciate how hes talking about his car. fix your car up and if i ever head up there ill get you to drive the turbo
No handshake :( Poor guy
Had an engine mount go out last year and I can honestly say I think that's what the vibration is lol
Hahaha, Matt is like "What is that vibration? I HATE old cars."
Spot on impression of Mr. Regular, hilarious stuff. Thanks for the upload.
My wife bought one of these right after she graduated college late 2001 as the 2002 model when the car first came out. I'd love to see a first gen TSX review
That Mr. Regular impersonation was spot on
Didnt the Type S have a K20A2
Welshy nope a k20z1
We're both right, i did some research and the 02-04 RSX Had the K20A2, and the 05-06 had the K20Z1
that exhaust sounded mad decent lol
I know I want to know what it is lol
I love my RSX Type-S. It's not the fastest thing in the world but it is a great compromise between fun, reliability, and fuel economy. They make great daily drivers without sacrificing fun. And they rev to the moon and back, gotta love it.
Needs vtec
Scorpio S have u even seen the video yet?
Every RSX has VTEC.
Vox Nihili lol but it's not real vtec real vtec on kseries are the a2, z1 and z3 engines those are the good ones
Scorpio S I wish ):
racing productions Yeah its really lacking power which is why they should make this with vtec
He's right 3rd gear is way too long...takes you from 60 to 110
Nothing wrong with a base. With all the mods he has its an extremely fun to drive. I have basically the same mods with hondata And i love it. Doing A2 head/cam swap soon too
Not a bad old RSX. Also good personality by car owner and good back n' forth between Matt.

had one of these back in high school... it was the shit back then.. can't imagine driving one today as a grown man though lol
They still shit lol, i can say that coz i owned a dumb Type S
Zhemin Lin lol oh come on man, it's not that bad, decent value for the money, pretty reliable too
well having owned a Dc2R and driven a s2k and 996, They do kinda suck Bruh :D
Zhemin Lin both those cars are much more expensive. After my rsx, I went over to bmw and never looked back.
Never driven one, Maybe the base model is better who knows,
Don't give up on these one takes Matt. Keep em coming!
This is the best video I seen in my entire life.
0:45 to skip the advertising at the start
BlackoutTheDrunk you can't wait 45 seconds you petty fuck?
how much for the cat?
Matt's impersonation of Mr Regular just made my day.
I FUCKING DIED WHEN MATT DID THE REGULAR CAR REVIEWS IMPRESSION. HAHAHAHAHA FUCK MAN, THAT WAS UNEXPECTEDLY HILARIOUS AS FUCK
New life goal: From today forward, I shall greet everyone I meet with Matt's deadpan, "What is vibrating?"
love the hat Matt!
Has anyone noticed he stopped handshakes? Probably cuz everyone teases about them lol
You know, the car was a little meh, but the owner was super cool and it was a really enjoyable video. Thanks for the excellent content again!

Same tools and method for the RSX and the old eg/ek civics. I dunno how far back it goes, since I only have an EG and an RSX.
Thanks for bringing the T-shirts back, Matt !
Wait did America not get the DC5 Type R?
Damn I feel sorry for you guys, those cars are so fucking good

Hey Matt!
If you're ever up in the North Bay, I have a dead-stock, stripper-model 1984 Mazda RX7 GS (FB) with your name on it.
No power steering, 5-speed, carbureted 12A rotary.
I've never seen you drive one, so you're welcome to it.
Matt, have you done an S13 240sx yet? you try to get a nice one in
TERRORIZERRRR yes I've done several
I enjoyed this review. Honestly more interesting than the porsches, for me at least. I like seeing the basic cars, even if this could have had more mods
For sure. When a car gets to a certain level of unattainability and absurd performance it just seems out of touch and thereby uninteresting
Why review the base Rsx? Type S or nothing when it comes to the rsx.
Christian Turner because I already did the type S
Hahaha the impression of mr. regular made this video worth watching haha.! Good feature smoking tire!
the direct competitor of this car back in the day was the celica gt and the gt-s i would love to see you review the gts please try to make it happen
Matt I couldn't find that cat 0:34 in the website, how can I buy it?
Hey Matt, where can we find a pair of those polarized sunglasses that you use in this vid?
John76222 Dillon optics! Go to our web site and click the Dillon banner! If you buy a pair I'll send you a free TST shirt as a thank you!
Matt what's one car that you would absolutely refuse to drive?
where did you get those race track maps on your wall? I need those!
Blank Space the company is called Linear Edge they have a bunch of tracks or will make any track you like

Antonio Lloveras I'm pretty sure it's track sculptures on Google. The first one that comes up. I was looking for a set myself.
Antonio Lloveras the company is called Linear Edge
TheSmokingTire thanks matt, really appreciate it. See you can talk with some people who comment on youtube.
love seeing the cars with higher mileage so it gives me an idea of how they age. lol a ford of this same year would have been scraped due to major engine failure. I don't know why people hate the Honda's so much
jay7264 what do you mean lol? My 98 mustang has 180k+ and it's still running strong
Arc Nine I could say the same thing about my Windstar it has 250k. but it's on its second engine and trans. so yea I could say it went 250k miles right
jay7264 I still have original engine despite having two past abusive owners lol
What exhaust? Sounds good.
Love the Mr Regular impression
Make an update video on the foxbody please!!!! I miss that beauty
Where is the bigger hole? In the owners jeans or in the exhaust manifold?
for a hoodie, is it better to get a size larger (anticipation of shrinking in the wash)?
Matt I don't know if you're still looking for a GT350R but there is a yellow one here in Lititz, PA for sale for I think 87K. If you buy it you better hook me up with a ride.
Amazing warm air intake
Hey Matt have you lost weight? You look good man
A bit of camber will help with on center steering
Why did this car get a video on this channel? lol. I had a 04 Type S, and cried tears of joy when I sold it. Overrated, underpowered, & 2nd gear was failing at 125k.
Harris Montevallo
Sounds like you bought a car without knowing the specs.
the vibration is the massaging seat
Wait what? the RSX Type-S had the K20A2 and then the K20Z1 engine. The regular RSX had the K20A3 found in the 7th gen EP3 Civic Si
Where can I get those pics of tracks on your wall?
My RSX had the same vibration on left turns when weight was loaded on the right side of the car. It was bad motor mounts.
when will subros 500hp sti drive be coming out matt? cheers
Where to get those track wall cutouts from beginning of the video
2:16 “What is vibrating 🙄” LMFAO
whens the infiniti fx35 coming???? :)
Where did you get those racetrack outlines hanging on the wall in the intro?
Like the cat Matt (no Dr. Zeuss today) Can you please make my day and answer this: a few years back there was a mid engined Kei car that peaked your interest - what was the make and model of that car? A thousand thank you's.
Phoenix Rising autozam AZ1
TheSmokingTire Youre the man.
man if you make one of those hats or tee in 6-speed I'll definitely buy one
Love the Road America track outline!
plus is this a D series engine? because uk ep3s have k20a2s which obviously this doesnt have
"I hit a pothole about a year ago" LMFAO boy do I wish I could say that living in NYC. More like I hit a pothole about a second ago and here's another pothole a second later.
SDD525 yes but of course! I forgot that when you buy an SUV potholes automatically disappear! thank you sir!
XD that Mr. Regular impression is spot on
if you are ever over in Pennsylvania or North Eastern area I have a really clean and slightly modified 04 type S if you would like to review
0:33 - "How dare you disturb me hooman?!"
LMAO Matt's Mr. Regular voice is spot on
Came for the RSX, stayed for the gold Casio calculator watch.
Smoking tire hats!
Stoked
Matt im ready for another sti
Albert Charron I read that fast and thought it said Matt I need another std lol
Albert Charron that SuBros one is coming up, and that's the end of them.
TheSmokingTire kool ima order a hat too thanks man
Hey Matt please show us your car collection including what car you like best etc !!!
Burgi Jr all my cars are on my Wheelwell page have a look!
TheSmokingTire year stalked that by now and it's great!!. An additional look on your Aston would be so cool, found no vid on yt where you drive or talk about it indeed (instead pits and peces)

That rsx sounds pretty nice, being a 4 banger and all. very cool
Hey Matt, is there an option for these to be shipped to Canada? Just wondering as I really wanna order some of this stuff?
Where can I get that Nürburgring thats on the wall behind him??
www.tracksculptures.com. Any idea what the track on the left hand side of the wall is?
Anthony Kerremans the company is called Linear Edge. The track on the left is Monticello Motor Club, my home track from NY
Thanks very much! Really love the work you do.
6:00 $8-10k for a Type S? do cars just cost a shit ton more over in cali? my 03 Type S only cost me $4300 with 129k on it.
"what's the vibration",...."Oh it is probably just a pothole I hit a year ago". Dude, a fucking year ago! lol
