As a Turkish gunsmith, thank you for reviewing the Tisas Fatih 13 pistol. In addition, I was honored to see that a handle I produced was used because I was the person who produced the walnut handle attached to the Fatih 13.

The only firearm that I've shot that's as smooth as the 90 series is the CZ 70 series. I used to be one of the Beretta haters not actually having any experience with them. But my local shop had a near new 92 compact made in 2011 for a great price. I didn't like Beretta, but I knew what premiums the Beretta name brings and saw an investment opportunity. I went out back, put a few mags threw it, and fell absolutely in love. Shoots point of aim, was able to drill the same hole, never firing it before at around 12 yards. I have the modern polymer wonders with the fancy red dots, and after shooting the Beretta, I never went back. It's my first choice for carry. All the rumors that make people hate Beretta is complete B.S.

the fatih is a blueprint of the 84bb. Comparing these two firearms is like comparing the 84bb to the 84f. the 84f with its hammer drop safety is an upgraded version of the 84bb which did not feature the hammer drop de-cocker safety feature and also had the rounded trigger guard.

The NEW "Beretta 80X" Cheetah is a Game-Changer.... I think the .380 is Beginning to be Popular now with the Recent ballistic improvements in .380 ammo velocity...... Hopefully let the .380 "Caliber Wars" begin. . 😊. . Like 9mm "Sig 365" and "Springfield Hellcat" that's been going on the past few years 😊

Great video! IIRC, the early Beretta 80-series guns didn't have a decocker. That came about in the 1980's. So, the Tisas is cloning the earlier variants.
Also, I have another way to manually decock pistols like that. I take a one-hand firing grip, pinch the hammer between the thumb and index finger of my support hand, trip the trigger until I feel the hammer move, release the trigger, then lower the pinched hammer until it stops. That's been the safest way I've found to manually decock a pistol.
    Keep up the great work!

The Fatih appears to be a copy of the 84BB. His Cheetah is an 84FS, a later version.
Girsan, another Turkish manufacturer, also makes several versions of this gun based on an older 84B pattern. They also make an enclosed BDA slide and a trip up barrel version.

I’ve always loved the beretta pistols. It is my opinion the 84 is one of the most overlooked and underrated pistols on the market. I have missed out, but our local gun shop has had trade in 84’s come in by the crate occasionally for a few years. I think the first ones in 2016 or so were $250ea and the last batch was $330-350. Some have the decocker like the one you showed, but the older ones have the safety only like the Tisas. One other pistol that shouldn’t be overlooked is the Browning BDA.
I enjoyed the video. I’m glad to see your input on the quality of the Tisas.

One thing that wasnt mentioned is that the series of the beretta changes. These are engineering / design changes. My understanding is that the fatih was licensed after a model 84 b or bb. The beretta you have is an f or fs. The difference is the trigger guard and the decocking mechanism; both not oresent on early model Beretta

Thanks for the review. I have the Tisas Faith I purchased 3 years ago that works like a charm. I did install Beretta 84 wood grips on it and I simply love the look. The grips also make it feel beefier in my hands, which I like a lot. The gun is very accurate for my use. When firing it is sometimes painful to shoot due to the power transfer I feel in the palm of my hand. Overall, I like the Tisas Faith very much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheaper Beretta 84 alternative. Aim Surplus, in Ohio currently has the newer models on sale for $300 that I find to be a wonderful price point.

Something I really like about the Beretta is that the decocker functions in reverse of many safety/decockers. You engage it by pushing past safe instead of pushing past fire. This makes for a more positive safety disengagement and makes you less likely to accidentally decock or even disable the weapon by accident by pressing down the decocker in a stressful situation.

I have been to Turkey a few times. I went once to Trabazon (probably not spelling that right) and got to walk through the Tisas facility. They have been around since the early 90s. I don't think they started importing to the US for another 10 or 15 years. Their manufacturing process is not quite what you would expect to find here in the states. Nonetheless; for substandard and out dated equipment they still manage to maintain a pretty fair quality product. I had one of their 1911s for a while and after a short break-in time (expedited a bit by a dremel tool and some buffing compound) the gun shot great and was extremely accurate.

What thought is this might be was info on Beretta 80s Series in 32ACP and an alternative. I was looking at the Cheetah to be a shared ammo companion to the Seecamp. Yeah, I couldn’t find one that’s starting bid price wasn’t lower in the high $700 to mid $800 range. Instead picked up a decent Colt 1903. Maybe if a new batch of trade ins comes in I might pick one up at a reasonable price. Again thanks.

The only difference between an 81 in 32acp and an 84 in 380acp is the barrel and magazines. I have a Fatih 13 and used a modified NOS Beretta 81 barrel and converted it to 32acp. It's one of my favorite pistols to shoot in 32acp. Apparently, 81 barrels also fit in the 80X. So, buy a Fatih and then find an 81 barrel and you can swap back and forth. 81 barrels are getting hard to come by, but there are some threaded 81 barrels from AGW on Gunbroker right now. I just picked one up, but haven't taken it to the range yet, nor tried it with a can.

Very Nice comparison and breakdown of the Tisas, and the Beretta 380. I bet they would make a nice one to take to the range. I'm not a fan of Turkish guns but they do seem to be making some great pistols at Tisas. The price of the Beretta's is pretty crazy unfortunately. I just recently purchased the new Ruger 15+1 Security 380 for an amazing $279.99. Its not the same gun, but it kinda shows the cost difference for the same size, same caliber. Maybe I will run across a used 80 or 84 cheap someday, I do like the older all metal guns.

Looks like a nice less expensive Beretta alternative and Tisas reviews lately have been pretty good. Millions of shooters use 1911 and 1911 type guns and those don't have a dangerous safety reputation. Also without a hammer drop safety you can always drop the mag and retract the slide to unload rather than decock

    • @tinkertalksguns7289
      @tinkertalksguns7289  ปีที่แล้ว

It's only really an issue because of the DA/SA mechanism; most people carry guns like this hammer-down on a loaded chamber, which means dropping the hammer to the safety notch. I actually think this concern is overblown; if one is mindful, and one should always be when handling a firearm, then it shouldn't be an issue.

I'm going through Tinker's back-catalog having only recently come on board. Doesn't everybody do this? 😁 Tisas are on top of the game now and I hear very few negatives about their work, especially considering the price.
Anyway on the vertical stringing, a Veteran friend (RIP) who carried a 25 Browning till he got a Colt Mustang told me that what matters is to always keep your shots within a 3" to 4" line corresponding to the center mass and then all hits to the chest area become vital organ hits where a small caliber can be effective. It makes sense to me though I do try for vertical accuracy too.

I personally think the Beretta kitty pistols are beautiful. But the 92 looks ugly to me. Guess the style doesn’t scale up for my eye. Secondly, the new model uses dovetailed front and rear sights that are compatible with Beretta 92 aftermarket sights. The rear sight is textured without white dots or lines. That should please Tinker's tastes, I think. The safety functions as before: Cocked and locked SA, or hammer down DA. No decocker. As a loyal unto death CZ-75b fan, I have no qualms about manually lowering hammers.

Great video but I thought you might sing to us a little bit. In other words, loved the title 😉

Tisas 84 clone has no mag disconnect. Much better.

With ambidextrous safety levers, I don't see a need for manually decocking a Tisas. I'd still prefer the Beretta, but locked and cocked is safer than thumb lowering the hammer.

The Fatih needs a decocker or a tip up barrel
Today’s overly safety conscious market won’t settle for less

There is a tip up barrel version being imported by EAA and should be sold soon. I think it is mc14 T.

FYI, the Tiffany reference in the title didn't slip past all of us. Your street cred took a hit. Of course, recognizing the reference means mine did as well... fek.

🤪It's worse than you know... it was actually a Weird Al Yankovich reference.

Nothing on the video about the Cheetah????

I usually see the entire 81-84 series referred to as 'Cheetahs' and I spend several minutes talking about the model 84. I have a Model 81 now, which has it's own video.

Fatih is Arabic. It's origin is the Qur'an. The 48th Sura is named al-Fath, which means victory or conquest. The Fatah Party (PLO) also derived its name from this Sura.
