7:18 new gaffer here. I disagreed re: apps, especially with the development of Sidus Link… until I needed more than a couple lights. That’s the top of the line manufacturers app, and it cant seem to handle 4 lights. 100xS, 60xS, and a PT4c worked fine. But once I added the 200xS, it started doing all your typical app BS (controlling the wrong head, or multiple heads, etc.) Any tips until I can afford a DMX setup?
Thanks for this great review. I'm looking forward to swap my digitalfoto's Chameleons cause the DMX commands have some sort of delay. (I'm using them for automated live shows via midi). Would you recommend these for live shows as well? Do the DMX responds fast enough to new parameters? Thanks! Im tired of having to make artificial delays to my led pars just because the tubes are slow to change :(
For me, now that the Pavos have Lumenradio - they do everything I need them to do. I can't see myself needing to use Titan's anymore unless production specifically asks for them
Thanks Shirly! It was lovely to meet you at the show. And thank you for the tea! I've been enjoying it drive.google.com/file/d/1C7Gfl-5K6Z7DMTDgMbxrUmNs8GBgCPLZ/view?usp=share_link
Great video! Are gaffers and theatres not using CRMX with a PC program for a preprogrammed show? I can see this as being useful for pixel mapping, sequences, fades...everything tablet and phone apps lack.
@@SpirosAbatis yes, Lumenair and Blackout are the primary I’ve seen. Although usually on an iPad. Grand MA probably more in live environments or episodic stage shows? As an owner op gaffer - a PC system would be pretty clunky for the type of work a lot of us do
Thanks for this video. I wonder if it is possible to use Sirus Pro for Nanlite DMX control ? The LumenRadio CRMX is interesting. Can you get an user friendly iPad app for and control different light manufactures ?
@@يومياتمصورعراقي really the only difference is the addition of Lumen Radio. It is also the latest and current version. Also has a small engraving noting the center of gravity
I’ve found them to be about average. But I think where some of the confusion comes from is how you think about it and how the manufacturer sets up the controls for it. For instance, Titan tubes allow you to select how long you want them to run and they simply throttle the brightness to accommodate that runtime. If you set them at maximum brightness (which requires the minimum runtime) they don’t last all that long. With the Pavos, you set the brightness and it tells you how long they will run at that power draw. They will run a very long time for instance if you run them at 1%.
@@djLovelyTime did you read my comment above? They last 20hrs if you significantly throttle the output. At full intensity Titans do not last very long.

Hey there...how do you find the XR Pavo's compared with Titan's?

@@dappergaffer awesome. Thanks for the reply.
Excellent points & rundown. Where did you get your little board?

Battery life on these is truly underwhelming.

@dappergaffer Astera Tubes last 20 hours and have been around for years now.
Let's be honest Nanlite just cut corners on the costs.
