Heavily reccomend getting into the game then, this theme alone is really good but there's a lot more tracks that go even harder all throughout the game. I reccomend grabbing a buddy to start the game with, its a lot of fun that way :D

Jesus Christ, the music tracks for evey single fight in this tier rule, the fights RULE, they're so fun and they have such cool mechanics, I haven't had this much fun in raids yet, this is peak gameplay and storywriting. I goddamn cried at the end.

This song is very uneasy and incredibly good but what hit me hard was the sudden soft and quiet music box that lasted for only a couple seconds.
P9 & P10 singlehandedly wipe the floor with so many Raid bosses it is not even funny. Musically, combat and aesthetic wise god tier.
We haven't had such a good first two fights in a Savage tier since Alphascape.
Okay, I might be reaching here, but I THINK the xylophone countermelody here is based on the High Seraph theme's flute melody. If that actually is what I'm hearing, WOW.

I love how naturally the music has progressed with each theme all the way from Asphodelos. Each tier has such a distinct sound.
Asphodelos is the weakest part of Pandemonium by far. The raid music was so generic that they needed to bring rhe big guns with Scream

@Rin Onishi think you missed the point of the first floors. It wasn't about vibing. The first floors set the stage for being up against all these wild imposing creation and the music reflected that.
@@zelohendricks51 ancient shackles is still an awful theme even if you take that into account though. Hinc svent Leones was the only good song that tier. Ancient shackles can barely support 1 fight, let alone 3. Hesperos reusing his theme for his final phase was also a bit lame hinc svent leones is a good song but not good enough to reuse in the same fight. Overall, asphodelos had the worst raid music of any Teir since deltascape. Good thing they turned it around with the next 2. Anabasios is already better than it even though we have not even heard Athena’s final phase yet.
After listening to this about 1000x, I noticed that this is a remix to P12’s theme and lyrics (which is kinda funny since it is normally the opposite). Mate Takafumi Imamura has been making bangers for this game since that album. All the majority of the primal tracks from Eden are by him aswell as stuff like Emerald Weapon.

That'd be cool but.. Compared to the actual Ivon and Shantotto we meet in game, at the end of Temple of the Fist and during the SB Black Mage quests, they do not match at all. But I do wonder if they are supposed to be callbacks, or references..
I doubt it's them specifically, especially since they both died an extremely long time ago: it definitely shouldn't take that long for souls in the lifestream to reincarnate.

So because nobody else seems to have been able to guess, I'm gonna throw my theory into the ring here:
Based on the mechanics of both the Mage and the Martialist segments, as well as the titles themselves, and the fact that since shadowbringers we've been calling back to the allagan empire and crystal tower constantly, my guess is the Mage is Scylla and the Martialist is Glasya Labolas. The personality of the mage in particular matches Scylla's demeanor quite a bit as do the fire and ice mechanics. This would line up with there being a King Behemoth segment, as otherwise it's quite random.
the mage is a very obvious reference to Shantotto

It’s a cool detail how the Ultima raidwide that Pandaemonium casts in P10 looks like the FF2 Wonderswan remake version of the spell.
this particular fight has incredible parallels to Dante’s inferno. Kokytos, also known as Cocytus, is depicted as a frozen lake in a DI, which is also the arena of P9. Which ALSO is the 9th circle of the Underworld in DI.
And if you think about the themes of Panda, the whole series of mistrust and betrayal, treachery, it really aligns with DI’s portrayal of the lowest circle of Hell.
Just so many references I couldn’t help but fanboy a little

The souls of those who died without burial or funeral would not be able to pay Charon's toll, and thus the wailing souls would linger, awash on the riverbank to Acheron.
Incidentally, Erikthonios, Lahabrea, and Themis all being restored as memories after defeating Kokytus seems fitting, as in their current state they are little more than ghosts of a time long forgotten. We recovered their souls, and it is our responsibility to put them to rest.

Interestingly, in Japanese localization, each part of raid tiers has been labeled really close to the translation of Divine Comedy in Japanese!
Asphodelos = 辺獄 (hen-goku; "limbo" - pretty close to 地獄 ji-goku which is "inferno" or "hell", the kanji 辺 can mean "edge" or "boundary")
Abyssos = 煉獄 (ren-goku; "purgatory" - the kanji 煉 can mean "to knead over fire")
Anabaseios = 天獄 (ten-goku; "sky prison" )
↑ This one has a funny word into it as it can read the same as 天国 that can actually mean "paradise" but because the kanji 国 ("land, country") can read as "goku" so is 獄 ("prison")
You say it aloud as "paradise" but the very picture (kanji) before your eyes is nothing than a prison hell in the celestial heaven
After coming back from playing Limbus Company during FFXIV patch downtime into this, I definitely have been so stoked about this. The fucking new Allagan Tome of "Comedy" is also called 神曲 (shin-kyoku) which is also a translation for "divine comedy" as well (as well as a net slang for "banger music" (god song) in JP too hehe soken's tomestone)

I wasn’t convinced that I’d like this song, but the high bpm makes it an absolute banger in the moment. I’m excited to wipe over and over with this in the background!
A fun little fact about the way the voice lines that are delivered in this raid. In the Japanese dub, the mage is a cheeky and mischievous young lady, as opposed to the English's old witch voice. The male martialist's voice is also younger and less creepy/gritty and more hot-blooded. Overall, they also sound like they're both enjoying this moment more than the English voices, who sound less than enthused about their situation.

I think that having the souls enjoy it is a...weird choice, for the JP VA. They're being feasted on by a monstrous horror, everything about the story, and the visual and auditory language of this fight, shows Kokytos as an abomination.

Music composers for games, any game, can freely with no restriction make the best track they can make and live out their passion.

- Two groups of people need to be bound to each other to act as a safety net for the "Harrowing Hell" knockback
-Those marked with the web aoe need to create the bridge themselves somehow

really like 9th circle boss and as for 10th boss i have never had so many wipes on a normal before him but overall fun fight(the only fight that actually made me use my brain along side 12th circle)
10 was the hardest of them all I think because the spider web mechanic is poorly visualized (too many visuals on screen with tethers going everywhere, appearing and disappearing seemingly at random until you figure it out) and the outright noob-trap of the triangle indicator on the pole, pointing people towards the pole when they want to stay away from the pole.
