I received my 23Zero Walkabout 62" last week. It is incredible! So well made, true four season tent. I live in Austin Tx, I have slept in it midday in 85 degree clear sky sunlight. All windows open, screens down (no insects) and a very mild breeze (barely) and sunlight and heat blocked from above by LST (Light Suppression Technology) fabric, my dog and I slept very well. A normal RTT would have been an oven. The mattress is the gold standard by the way. I have many injuries from my time in the Marines, and difficulty sleeping comfortably. I slept two nights in our Walkabout 62" (queen sized mattress) like a baby. Tent cost $1800 plus tax and shipping, best deal in quality RTT's period!
Thanks for this, Casey, we don't have a lot of good feedback on the performance of the LST yet so your information will help many in the market for a new rooftop tent. ~ Ben
You can leave some bedding inside, Stephen, some sheets and a quilt will be fine. The coating doesn't scratch off, although I'm sure you could if you tried hard enough, and it's not rubbery, rather a smooth coating on the fabric. It is relatively new so I can't talk from experience on the longevity and quality of the coating but what I can say is that all other aspects of 23Zero products are of good quality, so I expect the quality of the coating to be the same. ~ Ben
Yes, the ladder can be partially extended. The guidelines are to extend the ladder in full, then shorted it from the top down, section by section until it sits at a roughly 30 degree angle. You will need to install it high enough such that the ladder can provide support to the folded end of the tent at it's shortest length which is about 70-80cm. The only other consideration is whether or not you want to use an annex under your rooftop tent in which case you'll need to mount it high enough to allow for functional use of the annex which is at least 180cm. ~ Ben
Not a stupid question, Ashley, as I don't have a definitive answer for you. It looks like the Walkabout is a US model, so it is likely that it has been renamed for the Australian market. As to just how similar they are I cannot say though sorry. ~ Ben

Can the zero 23 be packed away with bedding inside , also does the coating scratch off or is it more like a rubber coating
