      Snowys Outdoors not getting mine till next year and looking at the breezeway 72 but just wanted to see roughly how much room was in one. Do you mind if I ask how tall you are?

    I just got one from Facebook Marketplace today for $800 from a bloke that changed his setup. Super stoked considering this is the tent I was about to pay retail for!

    Hi, I just found this TH-cam cannel and I really enjoy the videos. Only one idea: Can you also make videos of how to build up the tent? I think that would be really useful to find the perfect roof top tent for me and everybody.
    Would be happy to get an awnser

      We usually do create a 'set up and pack down' video, Jan, but we were not able to pack these up at the 4WD show where we shot the videos. We'd love to create videos on everything from mounting the tent to setting it up but the logistics surrounding this make it a little difficult.
      If the opportunity comes up, we will certainly jump at it, but we don't have any plans in the pipeline yet, sorry.

    I have tents with LST type technology, and the coating really reduces breath-ability such that they feel hotter in summer and create more condensation in winter.
    Does this coating have any kind of similar effect?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say that a coating like this, which is essentially a PU coating as applied to many fabrics only black in this case, will have the effects you speak of, Ronan, although the light blocking feature is likely to reduce the temperature as long as you ensure you are venting the hot air out of the tent at the same time.
      Ventilation is the key to condensation management too, on cold nights condensation will build up where damp warm air meets cold air, but by utilizing the flysheet and ensuring ventilation you can minimise this.
      On the positive side, a PU coating like the LST also increases the waterproof properties of the fabric, so no matter which way you look at it there are pro's and cons.

    The LST coating does start to come off in some spots over time

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the same story with an PU coating, difference with the LST or any darkroom coating is that because it is black you can see the rub spots easier than any clear coating. ~ Ben

    Hi Ben I have a fully enclosed 7x4 aluminium trailer. I have fitted 3 of 90x45mm rails across the roof and on top of those I have 2400x1200 x17mm formply. Giving a fully flat roof. Now could I fit a 23 zero dekota 1400 roof top tent. The idea I have in mind is fix the tent to the formply at the rear end of the trailer roof and have it open up to the front of the trailer leaving only the opening of the tant over hanging the drawbar. That would mean the whole tent would be supported by the trailer roof, no need for a ladder. I would then build a walk up arrangement on the trailer drawbar to get in and out of the tent. Do you think that would work. Thanks Mal.

      It sounds like you've thought this through, Malcolm, but it probably isn't something I can offer advice on sorry. Even if I could see what you are setting up I'd wouldn't want to say definitively yes or no as it's likely something you need the opinion of a professional fitter or engineer for, just to make sure your trailer is within the safe limits. ~ Ben

    Would like to know if the bottom corners (entrance end) have holes for awning poles, concerned on mosquitoes and midges getting access. I ask this as we originally purchased a Kings rooftop tent and found it to have huge holes in that location. We sold it and are searching for a better option. Also what is the rain rating?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some gaps around the folding awning pole where it is hinged to the base, XR6TgmSlayer, I'm not sure there would be a way around this. You can probably plug the hole with foam or mesh once setup. ~ Ben

    Is it easy to pull the fly back for star gazing through the top window?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, sure is, David. You can reach the fly by unzipping the sky roof which give you access to be able to unclip the flysheet, then just throw it to one side. ~ Ben

    Can anyone tell me where the bungee cords go to help billowing?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume you are referring to the straps that are attached when packing up, Mark?? If so, then they clip to the plastic O-rings on each side of the tent above the windows. When packing up, you attach the bungee cord to these and it pulls the sides in as the tent is folded. ~ Ben
