      Screwfix has them at the same price atm. i had a £10 off next purchase voucher so it was a no brainer. The top of a 4 or ideally a 6 pint milk container will give you a wide funnel.

    Thank you for posting this detailed review. I've just bought one (W690) and have yet to use it. I did see a tip on another video relating to filling the pot - the chap used a small kitchen ladle to avoid spillage which worked well. Best wishes.

    Sprayers are a great bit of kit, but diluting is essential. They are also very heavy on paint compared to using a brush. When painting around concrete posts, I made up a "timber sleeve/cover" from scrap timber that slotted over the concrete posts, which worked surprisingly well and was easy to move onto the next post. I used a bit of cardboard that was cut to the width of the timber panels to mask the concrete kickboard.
    As for filling the reservoir from a big bucket, I transferred it to a smaller bucket, but it was still messy if you're not very careful. They are a pain to clean when you are done.

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your detailed comment. I found using wide masking tape for tge posts to be a quick solution. I just lift the panel up slightly and rest it on a few blocks of wood, and put an old dustsheet over the gravel board. As for cleaning, I found it surprisingly easy, and it only took about 5 minutes just using water, but I suppose it depends on the model of sprayer you use!

    • @joeber3462
      @joeber3462 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@FixitwithFowler Never thought of lifting the panels. That's a great idea. I only have the cheap cordless Parkside one from Lidl, so it's not a high end sprayer by any means, but I have a few of the batteries and it was shocking cheap at the time and it does the job. It's fairly heavy on batteries but as I said I have a few of them so it wasn't an issue.
      The reason I said it was a pain to clean was because I was only able to get out to spray the fence for an hour or 2 tops at a time in the evenings and I had about 60 panels to paint in total and a third of those were front and back. So I ended up having to clean it after use many, many, many times...

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @joeber3462 yeah that would be a pain if you have to keep cleaning it. I'm really pleased with this fence sprayer and it was on offer for £60 on amazon.

    It delivers much more power, even for older devices, is much quieter, has less recoil, and is much more comfortable to use. The jet is much more homogeneous, allowing for the cleaning of delicate surfaces. Thanks to the wider and stronger jet, you can finish cleaning much faster.
