    Nice job on the fence and video. A few tips I can offer as a painter. Stain is usually better for fences but certain colors may not be attained this way. If painting and priming, tint the primer to a color close to finish color and you only need to do 1 finish coat if you get good coverage. These sprayers are meant for smaller jobs since the bigger sprayers with a hose are meant for big jobs. Most companies use bigger ones on most jobs since they don't spit out gobs of paint and are much faster than these. The clean up is worse than with these though depending on how over spray. You should always spray outside when it is not windy so you don't end up painting cars down the street or your neighbour's house as well lol. That's why we have insurance... Good luck in future!

    just finished a painting job, fence with quick drying latex paint. Had some trouble here and there. instructions said mix 10% water if spraypainted. That is for high pressure sprayer though. I used 13% through and noticed that if the paint can be poured through a paint sieve with one go, without waiting, you're good to go.
    Quick drying fence paint dried quickly in the nozzle. I wiped it as intructed in this video. Halfway through I started to waterboard the sprayer. when I stopped, wet rag on top of and in contact with nozzle head within 10 seconds. painted 4 hours without any trouble. Job finished, lots of confidence in spray painting gained. Thank you for a good video.

    Great video. Thank you for sharing your experiences 👍
    I bought the same unit from Bunnings around a year or so ago. Wanted to use it for the house interior. Ended up using it for the front picket fence, and must have been doing something wrong, because I would get globs of paint spewing out every so often. Ended up getting it to work, but oh boy was it a workout! Cleaned it up and packed it away. A few months later a friend moved into a new house and wanted to repaint the whole house. I offered him the unit and the same problem occurred. Globs of paint spurting out all over the wall and floor 😅
    I left it with him, and he brought it back saying it was a learning curve, but he was able to wrangle it into submission, and did his painting with it.
    To be honest, I am scared to pick up the unit a again. One really needs to have a huge paint job to justify bringing it out and cleaning the unit up afterwards.
    I am happy you were happy with your experience though 👍👍

    Just a tip for anyone watching. If you do an undercoat first, get it tinted to the colour of your top coat. Makes it much easier. Been using the same sprayer for timber furniture abound the house. It's worked well so far. Just did our front door in a dulux aquanamel. The door has a lot of detail so painting with a brush would have taken me an hour I think. The sprayer took about 2 minutes.

    Great video, thanks for sharing, I have a similar fence to paint, maybe few meters longer and I'm torn between the Flexio 590 and the 690. Do you think the 590 was great fo this job or you think the 690 will be more suitable? Thanks in advance

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thank you. I don’t have any experience with the 690 but the 590 was great. The only thing I wish I did differently is use the bigger sprayer attachment instead of the small one I used in the video. For a job like a fence the larger one would have been quicker. I think either way any sprayer is going to be easier then rolling or brushing when it comes to a fence 😎 happy spraying

    • @Muler3627
      @Muler3627 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bruno, probably a bit late with a reply - but the only difference between the 590 and the 690 is that the 690 has the compressor part separate instead of part of the handheld.
      The actual performance of the 590 is slightly better (400ml/min on 690, 500ml/min on the 590), but generally speaking they use the same compressor, same attachments, etc.
      I was toying between the two but ultimately went with the 590 as it'd be less cumbersome than the 690 with its 3.5m air hose, and also that the 590 comes with its own case.

    Great video. I am contemplating buying a Wagner to use on various projects I have going around my home. I've attempted to use a similar type sprayer one other time and had a big hot mess on my hands. One of the projects I am doing in my own home is replacing all of my baseboards and door casings plus I have a couple of feature walls that I am going to do and I need a smooth factory looking finish while using a self leveling paint. One thing that concerns me in watching your video is that you had paint all over your hands. I'd like to know why that was. Did the spray gun spit all over? Thanks

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Thank you. The gun itself does not leak paint. You do need to regular clean the head of the sprayer with a towel which is quick and easy. I'm lazy and when I need to wipe paint away or anything I end up using my hands hence the paint on my hands.

    Yet another Small Fry Creations video of something we’ve been thinking of doing. We looked into getting our fences done and it was probably $1000+ for similar length to what you did. Looks like another summer job for the list.
    What’s the difference between inside and outside spraying? Would you recommend one of these for doing a pool fence?

    • @SmallFryCreations
      @SmallFryCreations 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey that’s awesome. It is 100% doable on your own with the sprayer. I’m not 100% sure of the difference between inside and outside sprayer as I haven’t used the inside one yet.
      I think it 100% perfect for a pool fence. Just get some thin MDF to put behind the section fence your painting and work your way along. We were very happy with the paint finish. It looks very professional 😃
      Good luck 😃

      @@SmallFryCreations It went great. Borrowed a Wagner sprayer from a friend but he didn’t clean it properly after last use. Ended up buying a new “small” replacement spray pot from Bunnings and that worked great - mostly. I’d say 75% of the time it went great, 25% was a complete pain. Diluting the metal paint with 10% turps super helped. My next door neighbour had an old door he put two 100mm nails into and we hung that on the fence to prevent overspray and that worked great.
      I probably spent $250 on paint and $50 on replacement pot painting one side of the colourbond fence. Considering we spent $800 completely replacing the other fence a few months ago - split between us and the other neighbour - and that was one day work vs two painting a primer / etch and then two coats, I do wonder if replacing the panels might have been a better deal. But still painting was fun and thanks for all your help and advice. Love your reviews and genuine real life projects.

    I don't know what your instructions say, but I don't think "indoor" and "outdoor" is the distinction for those two sprayers. I believe "large project" and "small project" would be better identifiers. You used the small project bottle/sprayer on a large project. A large project would be walls, interior or exterior, and fences. A small project would be furniture or cabinets.
