What a moving story ! Ben has clearly been through a lot on a personal level and also in active service for our country. This is why we need to vote reform to put our country first for a change put our veterans first for a change and provide homes and security for our veterans first for a change!! Let’s make these changes happen and vote Reform! 🇬🇧🏴
My own son Daniel was a paratrooper. His halo jump went wrong and he had to use a wheelchair, suffered fits and spends a lot of time in hospital because of this. He is a remarkable man and very strong. Thanks for uploading this video Paul
I am proud I worked for Great Britain's ARMY. I had a huge sense of Patriotism seeing ' ALL MY BOYS' KEEPING BRITAIN SAFE'. THE ARMY turned them into MEN. GOD BLESS THEM ALL.
So sad because we have let all those people die for absolutely nothing. The people we fought are now living here off the state and the veterans on the cold floors outside shops. What have our governments done to my beautiful country!!!!🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
It’s heartbreaking, and very sad indeed, our veterans are treated like animals while illegal immigrant are treated like royalty “Why” I’ve lost relatives in WWII the youngest being barely 16 years old, I hope that’s not going to be in-vain, i pray REFORM U.K. get a foothold on 4th July. 🦁🇬🇧🦁
All veterans, and people who support them, need to turn out next week and vote reform. “Rough men stand ready in the night to wreak violence upon those who would do us harm” Bless them all.
I joined in 1988 spent a good 9yrs on operations in Ulster then went to Iraq on Telic 4 got wounded a couple of times, got decorated by the king for gallantry, left in 2008. Hi Paul just watching Ben Close, what a great guy. I'm in my late 60s and need to say Thank you Ben for your service to this Country. If only our "elected" were serving it half as well. I'm getting your book, Im interested to know more about you. How you've overcome traumas into success. May I wish you every success going forward. Obviously I didn't know your Granddad, but I am a Grandmother and I feel he would be exceedingly proud of you. Very best wishes to you Ben... Jane ❤ Ps ... Paul thank you too for speaking out, we hear you too ❤
I think that is absolutely well written comment, you have said everything that anyone can say about this topic, and I am not going to add to your words, or anything because you have said anything that is wholly true, thank you. 🙏🙏🙏🇬🇧🏴 god bless you.
All the men and women, who put there lives in danger for there country and it's citizens, should be treated with upmost respect and helped with the transition into civilian life, the way they are treated by the existing government is atrocious god bless you all and thank-you.
Watching this moving video and listening to Ben's story unfold, I'm reminded by the following quote... Not PC and the armchair Woke brigade will wet themselves, however... Col. Jessup: "Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it?" A few Good Men. Ben Close is a true Brit 💯% 🇬🇧 A man amongst men, as was his grandad. I came to watch halfway, with my first cig and black coffee of the day. I urge all viewers stay to the end.
I just can't get my head around the fact that he didn't even have the kit it's absolutely disgusting! I'm so happy that he got an honourable discharge, that should have been a given anyway. You are an inspiration it's just a shame that you had to go through so much. I definately will get his book to help this gorgeous man with his future plans ❤️
Thankyou for your service and may you find peace ✌️ keep your head held high darling your a good good man Ben I send my respect 🙏 peace so much love to you godbless 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🎉❤❤❤😊❤❤❤❤😊
I've worked with homeless people as a surrport worker, many of them ex forces, our government just casting them aside 😳 no one knows what goes on on behind closed doors 😢 , taking time out to to talk means more than anything that you can give them, stand down soldier and and thank you for your service. Respect always.
I'm ashamed to say that when I was younger I never thought much about what soldiers actually go through in the army. You hear all about anti-war protests, about whether the government is right taking us into war, about civilian deaths, you hear about everything except how the men and women sent to fight cope with the enormous stresses of doing their jobs. I can't imagine what it must be like fighting for your country but feeling like many of your fellow citizens resent you even being there. That was a very powerful interview and moved me greatly. You're a good listener, Paul. I think the U.K. defence budget needs to be increased and the armed forces need to get back to training and equipping our forces to the highest level possible and providing genuine emotional support, not worrying about DEI bollocks.
This has to be the most powerful interview I've had the privilege to watch! Thank you so much for your service and for being so brave to recount all these experiences. Massive respect!
Paul, I bought Ben's book on your recommendation. I have a huge collection of military books by the way. I can highly recommend it and will certainly buy the follow up if Ben does it. Ben is a victim of our cowardly politicians AND senior officers. Can you imagine sending young men and women to war with inadequate equipment..........take a bow Mr Blair! That cockroach put our armed forces in the firing line with no regard for their safety or welfare. Anyhow, thanks Paul.......great interview! Ben, if you're reading any of these comments, hold your head up mate.......you did what was asked of you and for that, every man, woman and child in this sorry country should be grateful to you! Oh, and I've just bought the signed copy too.......to support Ben. Best to both of you. Dave

Like all veterans, there is a pain behind the eyes, make no mistake, our country takes young men and women, sends, them, to theatres of war, then disgardes them , this was painful for me personally to watch, a look for you on the 27th, ex, military 56heavy bty Royal Artillery 🏴🏴
I'm from a servicing family, my Grandparents and brother have fought for this country. So you are a brave person and should be proud of yourself. I'm proud, and thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️ God bless you. My your future be filled with love and respect. 🙏🇬🇧
What a brave and courageous man. They say men dont talk about their feelings. I hope men who are so desperate watch this podcast and can see yes, even the good looking fit guys need to talk and its no reflection on their manhood. This guy could do podcasts and encourage veterans to come on as guests and ask for help. We are proud of our soldiers and veterans. Without them England is nothing. Our movement when eventually in power needs to ensure our armed forces are first and foremost looked after and equipped to the best standard in the world. Fgs we need our pride back. Im now going to see if I can get the book on audible as I struggle to hold an actual book. Hope to shake this mans hand one day hopefully 27th July. Bless you both. Andrea
I spent 13 years with a man who suffered with PTSD after the Rhodesian war, he used alcohol and drugs as an elastoplast, go and get help, it doesn’t only affect you, it effects everyone who cares about you and who is around you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
It's true,my son's about the same age and Iraq was his first posting. He also had to buy his own kit. He said that the yanks were great, left them a lot the brits needed. They were just going to chuck it anyway. My son's still serving.
@Paul Thorpe, I remember you meeting Ben at the rally, I`m disabled and was watching the whole thing on my laptop. If I remember rightly you put your arm around him and the thought that went through my head was how haunted and lonely he looked. I`m 70 and all I wanted to do was hug him myself, I`m damn sure I`m remembering this correctly, I would love to know if I`m right. Thank you for all you do Paul and for being the kind person that you are, keep on shining your light is so bright and so needed.
@Butterfly, I think you’re right, I too am disabled and was watching the rally on my lap top I’m almost sure that gentleman was Ben that Paul put his arm around I thought what a nice gesture at the time, and I agree he did have a haunted and sad look bless him, Paul acknowledged many people of all nationalities that day being the kind and caring gentleman he is, a one of a kind which is a rarity these days, and very compassionate, a trait illegal immigrants know nothing about!
@@bernicebest Thank you, Bernice, we are right it was Ben. What a lovely young man and what story he has to tell. Thank the Lord for men like Paul, a true empath. Like me you must get frustrated we can`t be there but we can do our bit by telling people on other forums what is happening. Remember we are warriors also, sending you kind regards. Jayne.
@@Butterfly54684 Thank you 🙏 Jayne for your reply, I think you and I will remember for a long time that touching moment Paul embraced that remarkable young man, I’m 85 and almost housebound and yes I do get frustrated that I feel helpless to make a difference, I nearly didn’t bother commenting at all when a viewer said we are just armchair warriors, but as you say we can spread the word around other forums as to what is happening to our once Great Britain 🇬🇧 take care Jayne, best wishes from Bernice 🤗
O boy this man is breaking my heart 😢....such much pain and suffering big respect to him for surviving ,my your demon's leave you be Big man hug to him
Totally relate..plus if you're physically fit looking! No one thinks you need help and love..so much like my childhood and my life.. Hope you find happiness ❤️
Hi Paul. Just ordered the signed copy but I just want to say that Bens experiences in life makes me sad and at the same time extremely angry and disappointed with how our armed forces hero’s are treated ie having to buy kit that should be supplied by the MOD. Ben has real strength having to deal with what he’s endured. Top man 👍🙏
I’m moved to tears, words are inadequate to describe how I feel, I’ve heard many incredible stories about our brave lads and lassies in the armed forces but Ben’s is heartbreaking, I’m currently reading a book called “It’s All About Trio” the worlds bravest war dog, the Author is Dave Heyhoe Trio’s handler and his search dog, while in Afghanistan and Ireland, it’s truly amazing what they have achieved between the two of them, I’m wandering if Ben’s Book is available on audible I’m housebound and would be very interested to listen to his story, I salute 🫡 this fine war veteran and all like him:) thank you 🙏 Paul for sharing this heartfelt video, I’ll be with you in spirit on the 27th. and rooting for REFORM U.K. on the 4th. 🇬🇧🦁🇬🇧🦁🇬🇧

I Vow to Thee my Country is my favourite song. The words take you back to another time when we had peace after the 2nd W.W. The England of pure green countryside you knew your neighbour's we were all god loving sadly now we have division by wokeism and out of control illegal and legal immigration I often cry for what we once had
We were taught I Vow To Thee My Country, along with Jerusalem and many others, at Primary School in the late 1970s-early 1980s (our wonderful Headmaster John Ireson was a Navy Veteran (Radio Operator fluent in German and French) who had served, and fought, in WW2 💪🇬🇧 and had then taught the children of a shattered Germany as a civilian immediately after the War)) and we sang it regularly during morning assemblies and Church Services, and as it played during the intro here I was silently mouthing the words (perfectly, after all these years...) with tears in my eyes while picturing Mr Ireson in my mind... *WHEN* Reform take power in this once-great Country of ours then *every* schoolchild should learn this beautiful song as I did, because I feel that our National Pride, Patriotism and Identity needs it now more than ever ❤️🇬🇧❤️
Thank you to each and every soldier who sacrificed self and family to provide protection for king and country. MAN HAS FAILED YOU... LET GO, LET GOD... HUMBLE YOURSELF AND PLACE YOUR TRUST AND SURRENDER TO JESUS... HE LOVES YOU VERY MUCH AND DIED FOR YOUR SINS. ❤ I would like to encourage you to pray HOLY FACE OF JESUS prayers. May the Divine Assistance always be with you and your family. VIVA CHRISTO REY!!! ✝️ ⚓❤️🙏
I can understand his feeling Pissed off, My Son was in the Army, and was sent out to Bosnia in the middle of Winter and the Boot's he was issued were so bad he nearly lost a foot to Frostbite! The gear was not up to the job.
Our veterans should be highly paid and gainfully employed, armed at all of our borders. They are experts, highly skilled in protecting our, and other countries. The boats would soon stop. They have earned our gratitude and respect, God bless health, wealth and happiness to Ben.
I think the Government and others, the way they haven't supported our soldiers, is really disgusting. Many thanks to Glen and others who have put their lives on the line to keep us all safe and protected. God bless you all 🇬🇧🙏❤️
I have just watched the video and interviewed between Paul and Ben, with tears in my eyes. What a wonderful story from Ben and his problems though he his life from early childhood to the present day,god bless you for your honesty and hardship. And for the government of the indictment, that you have done for the people who have been killed and injured by fighting for their country, thank you for your service to our country. Ben l hope you will continue your journey. GOD BLESS YOU,and everyone who has ever fought for this country…..🙏🙏🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪. From all of the world👍👍🙏🙏.
What a lovely man and very brave too. It's no wonder soldiers have ptsd when they come home from war. It's a crazy situation - fighting one minute and back home to 'normality' the next. How on earth can you adjust? My lovely dad (who passed away in 1995, aged 75)went to join the army Medical Corps in 1939, and fought in the 2nd world war, came home from the war with a deudinal ulcer, and had half his stomach removed. He was a strict but loving dad, and I miss him every day. He never talked about the war, but would occasionally tell us of some of his antics!! He was 40 when I was born (my mum was 26),and was poorly for the rest of his life. I never really thought much about what he'd gone through in the war, and wish I'd asked him about things. It's a disgrace how soldiers are treated by our government, when these brave men go to war, and when they come home too. I pray that we get Reform to lead us, they would treat people like humans. But we know what we're going to get next week - which is quite frankly, terrifying. God bless Ben and all the other brave men and women who've helped keep us safe.
Even at 18 minutes into this interview, I related to Ben and the situation he faced with his nan. I understand how conflicted he was - one Christmas Day, he was contemplating taking a loved one's life, out of love for her, as she was in so much pain and he wanted her to be released from that. Then, he was sent to potentially take lives, due to government-inspired hatred. On both occasions, this man behaved like a warrior - make no mistake, it takes courage to take another life, relative or stranger, even one who wants to take yours! Maybe I will comment later, as I go through and listen intently to this man, discovering more about this real man.
OK - comment #2! Having watched the entire video, I marvel at Ben's story and recall other similar stories from those who have served in our armed forces. I am more convinced (and having seen it from my own father, who was active before and during WW2., surviving that and giving half his body in the course of his service), that inside every one of these warriors, is a heart - and their hearts are more tuned into humanity than those who send them to war and into danger. Perhaps their experiences make that happen, I don't know. Also, and as a tangential point, this has made me determined to attend the rally on 27th July in London, not as a "protester", but as a supporter of what is right and proper and as a display of my disgust on how those with nefarious intent run this world. God bless Ben - I'm off to buy one of those signed copies (if there are any left!)
My dad helped built spitfires, my father in law was at D day, many of my elderly relatives helped in various ways in the 2ww, they all had a role like one big family protecting Britania. It makes me sad to see what is happening. Im very concerned at hearing incidents of 'r' happening to women around migrant hotels in norfolk that are not being reported by media, according to an x para i spoke to recently when i was at a katie hopkins event in norfolk. If this is true, I am wondering why its not being reported, surely women need to be alerted to the increased dangers? This accords with a prison officer who told my wife recently the statistics of 'r' are so high and there is a government cover up to avoid panicking the nation. Lets be honest, thousands of young men pouring in, testosterone, normally young men have girlfriends, but these men are from different cultures where there may not be the same respect for women as in the uk, so though i have no way of knowing if the informatiion is true, if there is a cover up, this is directly putting our women at risk by the truth not being aired...when are we going to have some honest open discussion of the dangers could be facing? Also at this venue a lady on our table told my wife a group of migrants tried to abduct her friends child, the mother screamed so much they let the child go, she reported the incident and the police said there was no proof. Again i cannot know if this was true, but if it was how many incidents like this are going unreported, why is this happening? how can we find out how much of this is happening, should we declare a state of emergency????
I wonder if all the parents of the girls being attacked and the women that are asswell could come together and hold a protest outside no 10 then they would have to put it on msm to warn the public
One of your best Paul. My heart goes out to Ben ❤ I've just bought the book from your link, Ben deserves every penny. I'm from Corby too. It used to be known as little Scotland, but not so much these days due to the unwanted. 🇬🇧
Thankyou Ben for Sharing your story it had me in tears.. Like you my Son done a tour of duty of Iraq for 6 months and when he came back he wasn't the Son I knew.. After a few years being back on cevvie street being in fights drugs and achol abuse i became his carer for the last 3years of his life...Long strory short he ended up undoing his life by overdosing and achol... He was diagnosed with complex PTSD before he passed...My heart go's out to all you veteran's as ive lived and witnessed the calatral damage it does to you Lads. I'm looking foward to your TH-cam channel and ive just bought your book from Pauls channel. All the best and good luck. And thank you Paul for having One of our many forgotten Heroes out there.."LEST WE FORGET "🙏❤️🤍💙🇬🇧

Exactly. All those lovely young people sent to their deaths and/or disablement, and for what? For us to be deliberately invaded.
I agree with Ben. The politicians don't care about anyone but themselves. British disabled veteran who had no help at the time.
I'm shocked there was no support for these guys!!!! Disgraceful
Love the men and women in our armed forces and the veterans but detest politicians who do nothing to help these brave men and women.
All veterans, and people who support them, need to turn out next week and vote reform.

My son is in the british army. I do worry about him. Just ordered Bens book, I will read it and then send it to my son. Thank you Ben and Paul.
O boy this man is breaking my heart 😢....such much pain and suffering big respect to him for surviving ,my your demon's leave you be
Big man hug to him
Oh my goodness this brought me to tears 😢
Totally relate..plus if you're physically fit looking! No one thinks you need help and love..so much like my childhood and my life..
Hope you find happiness ❤️
Of all the people that should be treated well in this country, veterans should be at the top of the list. Vote Reform UK 🇬🇧
Hi Paul. Just ordered the signed copy but I just want to say that Bens experiences in life makes me sad and at the same time extremely angry and disappointed with how our armed forces hero’s are treated ie having to buy kit that should be supplied by the MOD. Ben has real strength having to deal with what he’s endured. Top man 👍🙏
Never disappoint love your chat.
What an amazing man. God bless you❤️
i think that was great you telling this young man ,we the people of britain are so pround of them , they are our hero's ,
Dear Paul thank you, Dear Ben an amazing video I'm sobbing what a truly beautiful man all my genuine respect you are a hero god bless you always 🙏💛🙏🌟🙏
I’m moved to tears, words are inadequate to describe how I feel, I’ve heard many incredible stories about our brave lads and lassies in the armed forces but Ben’s is heartbreaking, I’m currently reading a book called “It’s All About Trio” the worlds bravest war dog, the Author is Dave Heyhoe Trio’s handler and his search dog, while in Afghanistan and Ireland, it’s truly amazing what they have achieved between the two of them, I’m wandering if Ben’s Book is available on audible I’m housebound and would be very interested to listen to his story, I salute 🫡 this fine war veteran and all like him:) thank you 🙏 Paul for sharing this heartfelt video, I’ll be with you in spirit on the 27th. and rooting for REFORM U.K. on the 4th. 🇬🇧🦁🇬🇧🦁🇬🇧
Wow. Dishonourble Discharge was kick in the face. 😢for you Brother.
Thank you
Thank you Paul. What a great interview. The government and army do not support these guys sufficiently. They’ve been let down.

The title should read 'When Your Government Abandons You After Fighting One Of Their Bankers Wars In A Foreign Country'.
It would be nice if they played ( I vow to thee my country) on the 27th, I am in my 70's and this song always brings a lump to my throat.
100% agree it's a very moving piece of music🇬🇧
@@therogers4432 well said 👍👍🙏🙏

I can understand his feeling Pissed off, My Son was in the Army, and was sent out to Bosnia in the middle of Winter and the Boot's he was issued were so bad he nearly lost a foot to Frostbite! The gear was not up to the job.

Paul, great interview ,I brought the book the other week, and it was great to see Ben knowing what he has been through. Can't wait for the next book.
Absolutely fantastic interview
Our veterans should be highly paid and gainfully employed, armed at all of our borders.
They are experts, highly skilled in protecting our, and other countries. The boats would soon stop.
They have earned our gratitude and respect, God bless health, wealth and happiness to Ben.
♥️🇿🇦 Thank you
I think the Government and others, the way they haven't supported our soldiers, is really disgusting.
Just brought the book on unite uk .....love and respect to Ben and my your demons leave you in peace .......big thank you to paul Thorpe
Keep your head up brother. I joined the Army the year you were born and left in 2008. It was the home we all needed.
Good call Paul x thanks Ben x God bless UK 🇬🇧
Yes I will get the book
