I was just making comedy about the fact that the 22WMR does in fact produce a big flame front when shot from a pistol because it was and is designed for rifle length barrels. It is also crazy load for the same reasons. Obviously non of these things detract from or prevent its use in a a pistol. I've had several issues with it, less than 250 rounds in I had to ship it back for repairs because the hammer won't stay back, or if it did, a literal scrap of paper was enough pressure to pull the trigger. They repaired it at no charge, but it kinda soured my opinion of the gun. Don't get me wrong, it's still a blast to shoot, but the fact it needed repairs that quickly raised my concern about their "quality control". I wish this had been available at that time. I checked one of these out today at the local Rural King. They were on sale but only had one left. I was ready to buy it until I educated the salesperson to the fact that the receiver was made of steel alloy. He had to test it out busy putting a magnet on the receiver. It sure enough was steel. Unfortunately, when he took the magnet off, finish had some scratches on it. Needless to say, I passed on it. That being said, I am not sold on the durability of those finishes. I am a little OCD about my guns, and I don't think the Wrangler finishe would hold up over time. I think it would be hard to touch up as well..

Shooting the same grain bullets in both 22LR and 22WMR you won't see much difference in bullet velocity between the two. Due to the shorter barrel on the Super Wrangler. You will see more muzzle flash with the 22WMR. Which is wasted gunpowder.

Hey plinkster you mentioned .22 for edc. and some people concerned about its reliability for edc From my own experience the reliabilty concerns are justified here is my incident
last year i bought a holster for my heritage and decided to carry because its lighter and slimmer than my beretta 92fs well i carried the rough rider for 6 months apprx. with the same five bullets in it the day came that i needed to draw and fire on some dogs (pitbulls) harrassing my dads chickens 4 of the five shots simply didnt go off the fifth shot fired and exited the barrel but sounded very weak and under powered
now during the six months i carried the rough rider it got bumped and jostled a round just as any gun will when be carried as an edc gun
i attributed the 4 failures to fire to the the primer material being knocked out of the rim of the case after this incident occured i vowed that i would never carry .22 rimfire for edc. ever again it should be noted the the dogs didnt harm the chickens the squibbish load was enough to frighten the dogs off then after speaking to the dogs owner and telling him that his dog had attempted to kill my dads chickens and that i had attempted unsucessfully to shoot them the owner now only lets the dogs out supervised and i dont have a problem anymore
