People usually make videos for learner drivers and never really towards new drivers who've recently passed their test. If you could make a series for us new drivers, that would be amazing as this video really help calm the nerves and was very informative!
@@richardclarke9966Not everyone is taught how to fill up a car - I had 5 different teaching instructors when I was learning (long story 🤣), and none of them showed me how to fill up the car. My fiancé had to show me once I passed. So videos like these are beneficial to some people.
The UK driving test system barely teaches you how to drive😅you have to do a pass plus course to get motorway driving, night driving and country lanes and just have to figure it out yourself when it comes to things like filling up your car
Im glad you showed this video. When I passed, I realised I was not taught how to put fuel in my car, I had to ask someone random to show which I felt embarrassed. Other things I didnt know is simple things like how to order food on mcdonalds drive through, how to park in big shopping centre car parks ect, its all the basic random things that does not occur in your head as a Learner but essential things that we need know before we get on the road!
This is so good for people who never had family show them and/or older new drivers who feel embarrassed about having to ask how to do simple things such as filling up the tank. Thank you so much for your instructional videos!

I’ve been driving for over 20 years and even I learnt a lot from this video. I’ve made a few adjustments and am now filling up my car the correct way. Thank you
Honestly I could not have passed my driving first time with out World driving or DGN driving school. Learning from others mistakes is a very good way to correct or prevent the same mistakes. It was 3 years ago when I passed but I just came across DGN recently and fond memories flooded back. Keep it up!!!!!!
Having driven electric for a year and now going hybrid, this actually helped. I was wondering about the possibility of overfilling, but this is great to know the pump does that leg work for me
thank you so much! I always felt insecure in the gas stations not knowing how they operate and what comes first - money or petrol, because it's different from country to country. So today was my first time filling up a car in UK and it went great thanks to your video!
Subscribed because this has really helped me a lot. To be honest, i get my new car next week (my first) and was very nervous on how to fill up. You have showed me and others how easy it actually is. On behalf of myself and everyone else, thank you
I'm a new driver, and here I am learning these basics. 😂 I never had a car, so I don't know even small things, and I don't want to embarrass myself in front of other people waiting in the queue because I don't know what to do.
This really helped. Been driving for 20 years, never had to fill the petrol myself :) finally did today and your video helped greatly to reduce anxiety on what to expect. Excellent explanation, many thanks.
Thank you, it was helpful. Watched it to know what to expect on my visit to the UK, I’d probably gone in to see an attendant before starting fueling 😂. In the US each pump has a card reader and we usually pay at the pump - in most scenarios there’s no need to see an attendant, unless you want to pay by cash. You also have to scan the card prior to starting fueling and it automatically charges by the amount of fuel you pumped in, then hanging the nozzle back to the pump ends the transaction, so the following person can’t use your credit card. Sure thing we have 1-2 states, which made it weird by making local laws which prohibit drivers from operating the pump - they have a designated personnel for that. Our gas (sorry, petrol) markings are also different: starting from 87, which stands for regular and with the numbers increasing towards 93, which is the premium, so knowing that the number in the UK is going down for premium is surely good thing to know. Also in the US there’s some corn shit called E85, which should be avoided unless a person is trying to damage the vehicle. lol
Thank you for this, I’ve been driving for a few months but my husband always tops up as I’ve been anxious to try. This has made me feel a lot less anxious!
great video for new drivers who are a little daunted by all the steps you have to remember when first puttng fuel in,hope you are well chris kindest regards (as always ) cx
I remember on my first driving lesson the van was low on juice so I somewhat got to learn early lol. But then where I lived there’s gas stations attendants to fuel your car for you (used to work as one as well) so I’m just here to make sure I didn’t screw up the procedure on how to pay for fuel in the UK.
As a diesel car driver. I'd recommend BP ultimate diesel as the normal diesel clogs injectors and leads to dpf filter issues. Plus BP ultimate diesel, gives an extra 3-5 mpg and does pay you back long-term to pay the extra 10-15p a liter.
Great video thanks. This is the sort of thing that I was not taught when learning to drive, and having passed, the first time filling up was a little daunting. Also, things like driving in and out of multi storey car parks were a bit strange at first, and I would have liked some practice when learning, just to build confidence.

I have been banging on about how caradmin tasks should be included in lessons. Only the other day I thought; how the f***do I check tire pressure 😅? I know how to park In a bay. Great. I just don’t know how to check my tires. Great video
Wow this is awesome! But in my country in South Africa we don't put fuel by ourselves there are people who work at a petrol station, they do it for us.I'm amazed by this and love it.
Very good video with clear explanations. You said if the vehicle in front wasn’t there, you would have went there instead. What happens when the car goes and you take its place to fill up with fuel, will the car behind you wait until you’re finished or will they use the pump they’re at? Should you be intimidated or anxious if there is a big queue of cars occurring when filling your car and rolling their eyes for you to hurry up?.
they will use the pump that you were at. i think british people are known for their politeness, patience, and tolerance to queue for long periods of time, its accepted by everyone that if it is busy, then everyone will need to wait. you will wait for the person in front to finish, and you wont mind waiting, so its the same for the person behind you, they wait, just the same as you did, and they wont mind waiting either. with the queens funeral, and people wanting to see her casket, a lot of the time the queue was 5 or 6 miles long and people queued for 24 hrs, moving 2 or 3 step forward every few seconds or every minute, and people did not complain about waiting. you could walk to a petrol station on foot, and watch how it operates before you go in a car to fill up.

Hey there! Great question, and let's clear up the octane confusion! When your fuel cap says "95 RON" and the pump reads "95 Octane," they're actually talking about the same thing.
