I am so glad that he figured it out quickly. He's a lot smarter than they give him credit for.
Although his choice of what to do was odd. Go to your minions. "I think I'm the Lunatic. Are you my minion? No? Great. This is what the demon is." Huge information win.

@@ColtSeeker The Lunatic could, but might not, get bad information. So that information is practically useless. Giving the lunatic the daemon and minion(s) as the lunatics minions would be excruciatingly cruel. But at the same time, extremely powerful if the lunatic ever breaks their spell.

Edit 2 years later: Adam's meltdown of him realizing he is the lunatic is still my top moment of NRB BotC. Classic meltdown right there. Too bad circumstances happened and both parties had to part ways but hey, at least this meltdown moment survives.

I can't believe Jon told Carley who he was without getting anything from Carley, and then Carley immediately parlayed that information elsewhere with Sully to learn who Sully was without actually giving up anything herself. Carley found out two town roles straight off the bat without even needing to trade a demon bluff.
I find it absolutely wholesome that Adam went straight to Blair after finding out Ben and Tom made him the Lunatic not the Demon, despite not knowing at the time that Blair was the Grandmother.
Also, Tom laughing away to himself when Adam is trying to talk to his "minions" is hilarious too

This is the second game I’ve watched in a row where Demon-Carly has not prioritised talking to one of their minions and that minion’s lack of information has sunk them with a bad bluff
Brooke and Sullivan dancing while having a conversation that ultimately reveals nothing is so them

I have watched so many of these games and 80% of the time Jon immediately tells the Demon exactly what he is and 50% of the time the demon is Carley.
Unless I’m mistaken, Sully has been a townsfolk only once in this game (when he was the Mayor), which I think is even more impressive than his winning record!
I also love the fact that when Adam found out he was the Lunatic, he went to the Grandmother to cry about it, even though he didn’t know that she was the Grandmother.
During that part I was l wondering if she told him her role already because it was too perfect. Haha.

This series is genuinely, and I mean genuinely, my favorite content to watch currently. Over any movie, game, book, anything. It is always a rush and yall are just amazing to watch the entire time (especially screaming at my TV the whole time "RULE 1: CARLEY LIES!"). Ben and Tom: yall are absolutely amazing at structuring these; the rest of the gang: you are all a joy to watch and your dynamics as a group is an absolute blast. Love you all!!!! Keep this stuff coming!!!!!

Carley is incredible to watch, because the fact that she appears to have more experience with the game than most of the players gives her such a strong ability to convincingly bluff and absolutely wreck the good team.

@@McBawse I’m in that boat with friends I’ve played with online . They’re still playing TB with me as storyteller and not sure how many would like the step up with sects and violets or BMR. I want to suggest it though and see how they do with the other scripts
@@McBawse TB rules, and even veteran players can always find something new and fun to do in it, but I think you’ll also find it fun to expand your horizons after awhile.
Sully is low key the best player because he doesn’t get too emotionally attached. He listens to the arguments and makes a levelheaded decision. Beau Brown Brilliance.
He tied the vote against carley with his ghost vote… if he hadn’t of voted they would have won quicker… somehow they win In spite of him rather than because!!!
He was also trusting Brooke and Carley, but I agree he is really laid back
That "Waitrose coffee" bit has to be the funniest thing I've seen in these BotC games. I was DYING when it happened, went back to watch it after I finished the video, and I was still laughing my ass off

I think the biggest thing for me is realizing that Ben has not just been wearing a backwards hat, but has been hiding dreads down to his bum.
I hope when Adam really is the demon his minions act the same why, just to screw with him as a bit.

I honestly trust Ben when he says that the roles are chosen randomly.... and yet to have Sully as the Outsider on so many occasions is, despite being HILARIOUS, suuuuuper sus.....
Carly and Laurie being evil for a third time as well was a little suspicious but I believe that they choose randomly.
@@CEJRAID Often when things are randomized anomalies are still possible if not just as likely, and importanly more noticeable to the spectator.
I def don't believe they're random, but I also don't mind. I think the roles, at least for certain players, are being assigned to maximize the entertainment.
Just something you might be interested in. Apple actually had to change its randomise algorithm because humans have the tendency to find patterns in true randomness. Normally a truly random shuffle algorithm would often lump together songs of the same artist or similar styles etc and people felt this was not random. So apple had to change it to something the human mind recognised as random such that there were always different artists one after another
I think it is randomized for veteran players, but storyteller's choice for players like Blair, Sully and Elliot. I can't believe having Oli and Luke as the Twins was random.
I’ve gone from, wth is Blood on the Clocktower? To the thing I can’t get enough of with the nrb crew. Sully has accidentally found the Rosetta Stone of this game and it is awesome. Thanks for the great watch! You’ve created a fantastic and positive place and it’s appreciated.

The conversation between Laurie and Adam, Adam's subsequent breakdown to the storytellers, the Grandmother, the town, and his costume change to reflect his role is everything! Top level content! He managed to out-Sullivan Sullivan here! (Really proving that he is The Sullivan, I suppose.)
I don't know why it is so entertaining to watch Adam and Jon suffer like this, but it sure makes their hard-won victory feel all the more well deserved. Fist-pumping cheers for the babyfaces!

Just wanna say, as a long time subscriber of the Wrestletalk channel and after I've watch a few vids on this channel due to Adam's GLORIOUS LISTS... I watched this episode last night... and I am coming back here today to state that I have now binge watched all the Clocktower games on the channel! Addicting stuff! Officially subbed and ready for the next episode like this. Until then, I'll check out some of the other BGC playthroughs. Great cast of personalities all round. Bravo!
Wow, that was _stressful._ I really felt for Jon and Adam towards the end, it must have been so frustrating. For Jon especially.
Jon is perpetually frustrated, he’s used to it. Watching Adam’s descent into madness is tragic, but Jon was already there 😂
I think it was far more stressful for Adam: he knew he was right, but no one believed him. He figured out what was going on extremely fast. Obviously he was maddeningly frustrated that no one believed what he was saying about Carley. Had they actually trusted/listened to him, things wouldn’t have been as drawn out for as long as they were.

The transition to Adam's day 2 ensemble is amazing.
In one of these BOTC comment sections, someone referred to Sully as Mr. Magoo. It is so true. He stumbles his way into danger and comes out smelling like a rose. Gotta love him.
I especially like the time he was the demon and bluffed as the clock maker. I couldn't believe he lasted until the end and then wound up being Snake Charmed on the last night and won as part of the good team.
What a bloody good game, Adams break down had me in stiches.

This has been the most nervous and tense I've ever felt watching a youtube video in my entire life! When the good team seemingly threw away their victory in the second to last round I was almost screaming at my screen and I was super excited when they actually managed to win in the next round.
I never though a boardgame channel of all things would be able to catch my attention like this but NRB has legit become my favourite content on TH-cam, absolutely love it!

12:17 Daddy Ben, I'm disappointed in you. Page 17 of the BMR almanac, third bullet point under the Assassin reads, "If the assassin chooses the goon, the goon turns evil and dies." Not even the goon can stop the assassin.
Hehe, I'm afraid this one was filmed waaay back in the pre-release days, if memory serves. These imperfections were still being hammered out of the game.

This episode perfectly illustrates why BotC is better than most/all other social deduction games: the role of the Storyteller is so much more intricate and gives room for Adam/Carly or Luke/Oli interactions. Please don't stop making these after BotC is released

I'm genuinely enjoying the post-game conversations a lot and I think we all would love a bit more of a look into the psyche of everyone playing or some of the moves you've pulled throughout the game. Could be just an extra 3 to 5 minutes, but these have been fantastic and would love to hear more!

Brilliant stuff again: loved every minute of it. I must admit, though: having seen the wonderful world of BOTC does make games like Avalon and Werewolf rather bland to me, even when a wonderful crew like yours play it. I guess I like BOTC so much more...
Thought the same thing watching the werewolf game. Looks fun, but botc is a more enjoyable watch. Can't wait to play and story tell

From a player standpoint, I can understand loathing BMR. But from a content standpoint, it's probably the most entertaining.
