    Nice trick, it is obvious now that I saw someone do it. But wouldn't have think of it. Thanks for sharing! Oh and the scallop looks really nice!

      I'm sure other people do this and 35 years ago someone obviously told me about it. It just makes sense if you have limited funds.

    This is how I use to recycle my strings back when I was a kid & couldn’t afford to by a whole set, just for braking one 😂. The good old days.

    Interestingly, i break shed loads of high E strings where the string comes through the bridge plate. I go between standard, half step down and 2 tones down tunings even in one day.. After time the plate wears. A bit of graphite helps, but i'm ruining the bridges.
    I'm too lazy to repair strings, good ideas tho gaz :)

      You might like to try Inox lubricant on the offending contact point as it out performs WD40 by ten times.
