By a wide margin, you guys produce the highest quality of documented car engineering/fabrication on the Internet. You put other car channels to shame, builds too, particularly because you haven't gone down the "let's weld up a tube chassis to solve all our problems" path and don't resort to aftermarket bolt-on parts to solve all your fitment problems. You keep the oem quality of the drivetrain as it is, and modify the chassis and accessories to accomodate it, as a good build should.
+Josh The virtual reality/holographic version of TH-cam will be up and running by the time the last episode airs. At least we'll be able to walk around "Binky" and zoom in for a really good look at the Ackerman and bump-steer geometry.
+GT WING I think the average is 2 re-viewings. They sure have the 'Pavlov's Dogs' doctrine in play. Either that or they are going to perfectionist this up their own ass. ;)
Its a beautiful sunny Saturday here in Sydney Australia, my wife is out, and what a perfect day to get in the garage and get cracking on with fixing the rot in my Datsun.... but no.... here i am... dam you binky!!!!
Guys, I want you to never stop. I have been on two Army deployments, and both times one of the best thing about coming home, other than seeing my friends and family, was a new episode of Project Binky (or, sometimes, two!) waiting for me. No joke. I love this.
When I question my life's work as being pointless with no apparent existential direction, for me, watching Project Binky puts everything back into perspective. Happiness is not in reaching the goal, but in the act of drinking tea and doing it right. I look forward to "Sometime in March hopefully". God Speed Bad Obsession Motorsports.
Bravo gentleman! I am at a loss for words. The steering geometry session was intense, and thank you, I needed that. :slowclap: 24:21 I'm always mesmerized by others who focus this level of detail on their work. It makes me wonder what went wrong with them? ;) I hope it's contagious! I think I'm getting infected, too.
you know what is great about this. its that you hear youtubers talk about how hard it is if they dont do a vdu every day. or week max. and you keep us waiting for months and we love it and keep on waiting for it. much love and lots and lots of thanks for the great work.
I was happy to see you guys spending a crap ton of time on the steering. I did the same for my build and went through all that mathematical bs and I'm happy to say I tracked with you the whole time! Good to see I wasn't off my rocker spending extra time on it. Keep up the good work.
You boys are having way too much fun on this build. Seriously though, some of the best bracket fabrication I have ever seen. I look forward to the next nail biting episode. Fred
My Girlfriend and I watch your series together. Pretty much watched them all back to back. :-) Very informative and Funny we really enjoy seeing how it all works, thanks for taking your time to give us a good time :-D
Another great episode, thank you guys for all the work you put into these videos. Enjoy the rewarding moments of this project (like the sorted bumpsteer); you really earned them. I really hope you (still) have as much fun working as I - and lots of others - have watching. Your videos have been great to watch from the start and became epic over time. Engineering and Pratchett references in one place; how can you go wrong with that? Guess I'll at least pick up one of your mugs for a little support. Have a good time and lots of fun with Binky!
absolutely fantastic boys !! would have to be my favorite series on TH-cam right now, the combination of comedy, Gt-four and engineering makes for tasty eye ball material
+Bad Obsession Motorsport Hi guys, My wife said she going to move back in with me because I've stopped watching episode 11 re-runs. Any idea when the new episode will be out?.........SOS
Thank you guys for taking the time to share this brilliance with us! Infinite respect for the quality craftsmanship! I am seriously beginning to question whether the ingenuity indeed has a fixed depth or not. Top level problem solving gentleman, my hat is off to you both.
reading the comments, People, stop asking for episode 12, it will be ready when it is done, I know that Binky and these wizards of arcane motor alchemy make for some of the most entertaining and intriguing videos known to mankind, but you need to appreciate that Binky is a part time project that these gentleman do on a weekend basis, they live bloody miles apart from each other and have family commitments too.
Problem with the build... Nick has 99 solutions that will all work perfectly and 3 that are entirely over engineered and full future proof for reliability, accessibility and effectivity... GOTTA LOVE IT!!! :D
just binge watched all episodes! love seeing the level of quality and detail you guys put into this. I also enjoy that there are still people doing true custom and not off-the-shelf "custom parts. can't wait to see more. as we say at Diamondback bikes "DB4L". diamondback for life. BOM4L!
I too just went back and re-watched all the episodes I think we all can say that this is by far one of the best fabrication shows on the youtubes ! Thanks guys I love the work!
I'm a bit of a picky youtube channel subscriber, but ever since I found out about this project (it was around episode 3 I believe) it certainly is one of my favorites! (Tom's Turbo Garage and Eric The Car Guy are a few of my other favorites). The quality and craftsmanship in this project is superb. Every once a month or two when you guys manage to post a new video I'll get all excited and no matter the time of morning, day or night: I MUST, WILL AND SHALL SEE IT! Immediately :) Keep up the great work! I'll wait and try to be patient. Ish. Oh come on, get on with it! ;)
Back again because I was reminded, on yet another rewatch of this fantastic series, that every iteration of the steering a drive shaft surround supports is just more beautiful than the last.
its now 8am for me.. been sat here all night, watching each episode.. Im glued to it :) Well, Im a motorbike person myself, got a running R1, and a CBR 1000RR engine in my shed that just needs a tweek.. I just wish i could get my hands on a mini for a project now :D
As eager as I am to see the new episode, I wish blokes would stop harassing the boys to get it done. They'll get it done when they can get it done, you can't rush genius, better to wait and get the quality offering we've come to love than to rush it and end up wishing it was better/longer/more detailed/had more tea drinking etc. Keep up the magic, fellas, love your work.
This is a Proper bit of kit. No shortcuts and no off the shelf Ebay bollocks. After watching them Literally re-engineer a Mini from the ground up. This whole show should land them a job at a major automotive manufacturer engineering team. They are coming up with better solutions then most new cars off the line. Well done chaps.
+lenhister Dudes from MCM have a decent idea of how to do stuff but unless it's bolt on they have to ask experts. Entertaining show but just a liiiiiiiiiiittle different from this which is outright engineering porn. Haha.
+lenhister BOM are pro builders with serious engineering training. Moog and Marty are enthusiast car owners without engineering degrees. It's not fair to compare them. Besides, MCMs *editing, music, and photography* skills are way better than BOM. Again, it's not fair to compare them. There is space for both and both are great.
+lenhister 2 completely different concepts project Binky lets completely re engineer a Austin mini and make it awd. (a concept easily achievable with kits available online using primarily Honda parts among others) mighty car mods mini i bought the newest classic shape mini i could find. now let supercharge it and keep it looking as stock as possible because reasons.
lads, this episode sucks! your tea drinking is going right down the pan while you keep messing with the car. we need alot more tea in the next episode to show you in the true light of engineering mechanics. Oh and the cars pretty brilliant aswell.
My brother in law and father in law where harassing me for month to watch this. Now that I have I've watched every episode at least 4-5 times and am waiting the next episode. Your engineering and fab work on this car are great, and I like the Humor too. You lot are an inspiration.
OMG this is so pleasing. I'm remembering when you guys started building a car and now it is so complicated as a time machine. Keep up the awesome job guys, love you all.
Finally got time to watch this last night. It was nearly torture to see the notification of this video on Friday and have to count the hours until I could watch. One question though: how do you plan to weld the new steering knuckle to the strut body without overheating it? Or are you intending to remove the strut cartridge, replace it with something more awesomer than OEM, thus performing the welding while the tube is hallow?
So I've managed to binge watch all 11 episodes over the last two days. You have a new subscriber. Loving the corny comedy and great wrenching, from the other side of the pond.
Awesome workmanship. Just not wild about the steering set up being welded to the strut itself... a part that will need to be replaced...Thanks guys, love watching!
The whole wheel alignment section of this video just brought back all those memories of me sitting in a classroom absolutely bored out of my brains trying to understand ackerman and kpi and all that jazz, ahhh the memories, makes me feel like running head first into a brick wall...
Can't believe it's been four months already. I appreciate the early Christmas present. I look forward to seeing more in April. You planning on fitting some kind of interior in that Mini, or is it just going to remain bare?
+ChrisHallett83 You were spot on! Also, I've been abusing Google Images and several car enthusiast online forums with no luck whatsoever. Lancia Y10 Elefantino was a promising candidate, but still the same grille with vertical bars.
I've watched this build and it is amazing because it is just insane. I'm from Texas (USA) and lived in Suffolk in 1992 with the military. Many of my friends had beloved old rusted out MIni's then that cost just a few quid. The extent you've gone to to build this is, just, well, bonkers. I'm building a couple of Triumph bikes because I'm kind of nuts too, and the extent you have gone to is inspiring. May well twin turbo my old 71 Boni. Best of luck, nutters. Ya'll have fun.
+Jonas The Movie They started out at 18-20mins, now they're closer to 30 mins! There's only so much grinding and welding you can sit through. Believe me, the edit is doing you all a massive favour! :-)
Thanks for another awesome episode, who cares about the length of time between episodes when you get this quality of craftsmanship, Well done Lad's Thumbs up from the Motor City..
Finally! This is truly the best motor sport show on youtube. The comedy is on point and you can tell they enjoy it as much as we do watching it. Keep on it guys!
4 long months! I was going to call you both a pair of lazy sods, but after watching that brain melting Ackerman angles stuff I tip my hat in acknowledgement of your godly prowess. Is that Lancia HF integrale badge a subtle hint of your next project per chance?
+aussiebloke609 Oh boy, now we'll have to go find a clip of that quote in order to explain it. Seriously, everybody go watch Airplane, then watch it at least a couple more times.
Worth the wait. You guys inspire us by seing you tackle obstacles this project throws at you along the way. It is not an easy path to take but with patience knowledge gallons of teas and CAD templates and humors to blend... it is a perfect recipe. Cant wait again to see episode 12.
So, I just finished watching all the episodes so far, this afternoon and evening. Safe to say I am now tired and and I think everyone in NZ now speaks with a funny accent. Bright side is I now feel energized to get back into the shed and back into my Fuego Turbo project. But not before a cuppa and a nap. Keep up the great work lads.
Right you pair,I was supposed to be working from home yesterday and came across this series of videos. So no work done as I watched them all one after another, stopping and rewinding for bits I didnt get/understand.At 7-30,after food,I sat down to watch what I thought would be 12-20 and see the finished mini in all its greatness,and.....nothing.Pull your fingers out and get on with it,stop with all the tea and biccies and give me my finished mini.
+pmodd Thanks very much.
just watched all 11 episodes pretty much in a row. was not bored once. thanks for bringing your work to youtube so we can all appreciate it!

Thanks guys. My son and I really enjoying watching Project Binky episodes together. Keep up the good work!
+Bob Dunn Thank you!
Great as always, I'll tune in summer 2016 for next episode.
we'll be lucky, I've arranged a free half hour in 2017
+g4rr377 I've booked a day off work in 2018 so I can enjoy the next one in peace
+Josh The virtual reality/holographic version of TH-cam will be up and running by the time the last episode airs. At least we'll be able to walk around "Binky" and zoom in for a really good look at the Ackerman and bump-steer geometry.
😂pistons engines wont exist loll electric cars everywhere before next episode
+user12345 Don't get your hopes up!
Simply brilliant.
I wish these episodes went longer.
The highest standard of auto fabricating on TH-cam.
+Mick David Thanks.
I totaly forgot about this, was stoked when I saw the email notification!
+GT WING IKR? Every episode is like receiving an unexpected tax rebate!
+Kj16V Fastest 28 minutes ever, gives me a bitter sweet feeling at the end.
+GT WING I think the average is 2 re-viewings. They sure have the 'Pavlov's Dogs' doctrine in play.
Either that or they are going to perfectionist this up their own ass. ;)
+GT WING Every year, or so, I go back and re-visit the old episodes.
+GT WING I didn't get any notification even though I am subscribed. :( TH-cam failed me.
More anticipation for this video than from a new Star Wars movie :p
Same
not even kidding
+M S38 Same here as well.
Pfff... Star Wars...
+M S38 Fuck the Millenial Falcon
i want to see Blinky Test Run !!!
+M S38 The new will be old. By the time they've built a fourth Death Star, this maybe on the road.
Elephants? Edd China? New funk music? You guys went over the top for this episode!
+jmannetje1 We really did!
Damn this project is so addictive, this is my second binge and still enjoying it. Would have like to see rear wheel steer as well Nik. 🤯
Its a beautiful sunny Saturday here in Sydney Australia, my wife is out, and what a perfect day to get in the garage and get cracking on with fixing the rot in my Datsun.... but no.... here i am... dam you binky!!!!
+1 for Rincewind reference. Well done!
First day back at the office and boy, what a wonderful surprise!!! Just what I needed to get me through the day.
+Brian Vinciguerra Thanks Brian, hope it made your day mildly more bearable.
Guys, I want you to never stop. I have been on two Army deployments, and both times one of the best thing about coming home, other than seeing my friends and family, was a new episode of Project Binky (or, sometimes, two!) waiting for me. No joke. I love this.

You guys are wizards, it's confirmed by the cable brackets !
When I question my life's work as being pointless with no apparent existential direction, for me, watching Project Binky puts everything back into perspective. Happiness is not in reaching the goal, but in the act of drinking tea and doing it right. I look forward to "Sometime in March hopefully".

Jafromobile check out jafromobiles channel....engine build videos on the Hyundai! very entertaining

you know what is great about this. its that you hear youtubers talk about how hard it is if they dont do a vdu every day. or week max. and you keep us waiting for months and we love it and keep on waiting for it.
much love and lots and lots of thanks for the great work.
+Ahmed El-Genedi (bikeless) Thanks Ahmed. We were told once that absence makes the heart grow fonder, so we're taking that to extremes.
i must say that you do. you do but never the less its cool still love your work guys
:D Finally! I wish there was more on youtube like this, insanely intelligent.
+Christina Pritchard Well, the inasne bit is correct! :-)
I learned more about steering than I ever thought I'd learn from this build.
blows my mind evey time. we need a hour long episode next please
Some of these components should really take their place in a modern art museum. Beautiful.
+Robert Coffey Don't know anything about art, modern or otherwise, but we prefer the look of some of our bits to say, an unmade bed or half a sheep...
I was happy to see you guys spending a crap ton of time on the steering. I did the same for my build and went through all that mathematical bs and I'm happy to say I tracked with you the whole time! Good to see I wasn't off my rocker spending extra time on it. Keep up the good work.
This whole hybrid Mini/Toyota thing is so simply and straight forward I do wonder why no one has tried it before
You boys are having way too much fun on this build. Seriously though, some of the best bracket fabrication I have ever seen. I look forward to the next nail biting episode. Fred
The tea and biscuits scenes are enjoyable. the math lesson was excellent
My Girlfriend and I watch your series together. Pretty much watched them all back to back. :-) Very informative and Funny we really enjoy seeing how it all works, thanks for taking your time to give us a good time :-D

+Joe Lucas don't worry man were all still waiting! But how ever when will we see the next Ep??

+supercowmoo3 Serendipity.
28 minutes of my life well spent watching this! #chuffed #perfectfridayevening :-)
+Jonas The Movie I did in fact watch it twice! :-)
The solution for the steering arm mounts are exactly how I imagined it would be. Awesome!
Good god this is going to be good.

Sorry about that.
Not a problem! Watching these videos makes it all feel better
Can't believe it's been four months already. I appreciate the early Christmas present. I look forward to seeing more in April. You planning on fitting some kind of interior in that Mini, or is it just going to remain bare?
+koopatroopa187 Yes of course. That will be the Bad Obsession guide to cutting cow hide and laying carpet episode.
+Bad Obsession Motorsport Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to respond =)
God I love this series. Nick Blackhurst the bracket master. I get so much inspiration from watching you guys. Love it X 50. Thanks for the upload....

Finally! This is truly the best motor sport show on youtube. The comedy is on point and you can tell they enjoy it as much as we do watching it. Keep on it guys!
+Cal Shecklered Thanks Cal!
My heart hurts because I know the next one is far away.
I love this series. You guys put so much effort into the making of the car, and the videos. I'm a fan.
+patrollable Thank you very much.
+Bad Obsession Motorsport No, thank you!
Only another 4 months until the next episode.
Amazing series of custom work and comedy, I can't believe it has been 2 years. Keep up the good work!
+micbsounds Thanks!
when will we find out what was under that sheet in episode 10? any idea?
Currently off work with a fractured hip and I was bored silly until I found this, I've watched every episode, thanks for the entertainment.
Yeeeeees finally i was waiting for this!!! I'll watch it now, but first i had to comment!!!
Now i'm sad because it ended... :(
+Andres Sosa ha now you have to wait 3 months for the next one
+Dukes The Lan Guy O_O
It's always fascinating to see an old-school "hot-rodding" project like this come together.
C'mon Guys, you need to work faster! I Need more Episodes! This Project is like an addiction!
+DasKroenerTier like an addiction... or like... a Bad Obsession.
+DasKroenerTier checkmighty car mods mini episode come slighty quicker (but never quick enough)
Getting better and better... We increasingly want to watch the end.
4 long months! I was going to call you both a pair of lazy sods, but after watching that brain melting Ackerman angles stuff I tip my hat in acknowledgement of your godly prowess. Is that Lancia HF integrale badge a subtle hint of your next project per chance?
+regfenster Thanks! And no. Probably not.
+Bad Obsession Motorsport Of course not! Nobody would intentionally turn a Lancia into a project. They arrive that way.
I literally know nothing about this stuff, but this is still one of the best shows on TH-cam for me.
+FooFighterFix Thank you!
*Pops the kettle on*
Your metal work is superb. everything you put together looks like it came from the factory that way.
+Skwisgar2322 Thanks! That's the intention.
omg, YES!!!!
FINALLY
Some of the best metal work I've ever seen going into this mini! Real skill you don't see much of any more!
Ha, Airplane joke @ the 18:36 mark :)
+Jonas The Movie "And don't call me Shirley."
+Jonas The Movie It's something funny that people laugh at, but that's not important right now. :-)
LOL
+aussiebloke609 Oh boy, now we'll have to go find a clip of that quote in order to explain it. Seriously, everybody go watch Airplane, then watch it at least a couple more times.
+Steamin Steven Shirley, surely we can call him Shirley!
+Jim McCorison I think we're into the many hundreds of viewings.
Worth the wait. You guys inspire us by seing you tackle obstacles this project throws at you along the way. It is not an easy path to take but with patience knowledge gallons of teas and CAD templates and humors to blend... it is a perfect recipe. Cant wait again to see episode 12.
+Abu Jibreel sabado Thank you!
+Bad Obsession Motorsport when will the episode 12 be uploaded guys? =)
aaaaaahhhhhhhhh aawwwww yeaaaaaAhhhhhh
I allways, watch the previous episode - just to get in the 'mood' for the new one. This is a real treat :)
+john g It's our bloody Mini and we'll take our time! ;-) Thanks.
