I agree but the situation isn't as bad as it seems. They were in so many close games last year they could've won with even average QB play. They probably had 3 or 4 losses that were solely on terrible QB play where QB had 2,3, even 4 interceptions...QB turnovers for defensive TDs multiple games. There were games where QB gave the other team more points than the pats. I don't think people realize just how putrid QB play was last year. Last years pats make the playoffs if they had even Brisett level play so I can see a scenario where pats outperform expectations
Mac was only good in college do to the talent he had around him (like most Alabama QBs) Maye looked alot more promising with alot less around him.

Drake maye is good quarterback and has a lot of potential, he just needs some more development, I bet he will be good or even great in the future.
It’s gonna be difficult to stay firm, but I’m all for just leaving Jacoby out there no matter what the record is. If you end up in the top 3 again so be it. Use that premium draft position again to further improve the roster around Maye, then hand him the keys in year 2. No need to play him at all this year imo

That’s easy to say on paper, but it’s hard to tell a locker room we’re gonna not play the best guy because we don’t want him to get hurt. If he wins the job you give it to him imo, there’s a lot of value in taking the reps yourself

You know what’s funny and i put this on my mother’s life. I was telling a friend in the summer of 2023 that i wanted the patriots to either suck or be good. No middle ground cuz we need to draft a QB. Now mind you this is the summer when Drake maye was the consensus #2 QB in the draft. My friend ask “if they do suck and let’s say y’all get the 1 pick who are you taking Drake or Caleb” i said “for me for NFL reason Drake. I know Caleb is the better talent rn but i think Drake has real NFL talent in him plus im done with smaller QBs.” My friend goes “nah that kids the next luck haha” (jokingly). I said “nah Aaron” he said “why you say that” and i literally said “bruh the way that kid can throw a ball when his feet aren’t the best in the pocket is so Aaron like it’s crazy.” That’s literally what i said in the summer 2023. That’s why i laugh when i hear all this footwork nonsense like it’s something new. I been seen it but the kid arm is so crazy.
We need to get him a oline and a couple of pieces at WR and we will be good. Hopefully we can build something from this

You're getting a little ahead of yourself. Right now, the Pats' coaches are trying to teach Maye how to operate under center without tripping over his own two feet. Baby steps. They're also trying to teach Joe Milton the very same thing but Milton is picking it up faster than the "savior" here. So, hold off the victory parades for a minute. You could just as easily be looking at the clone of Zach Wilson or Sam Darnold as the clone of Justin Herbert. Time will tell.

I find it crazy that you think it’s gunna be difficult for coaches to teach Jayden Daniels how to slide but think it’s a sure fire thing that Maye can get his foot work cleaned up no problem

He'll be good if he sits for two maybe three years with a good qb coach. But knowing the pats, he's probably going to start mid season this year. Not every team can do the JLove treatment without risking someone's job on the line.
Two three years you people just follow with the media tells you all he needs to do if he's ready to go week one he's ready to go if he's not then he'll be ready whether it's week 6 week 8 year1 2 years there shouldn't be a time limit when he's ready he's ready he won't be ready until 3 years he's going to be ready definitely by year one I'm guessing halfway through the season around the by week
@@sportsunlimited9735I'm saying Maye should sit out for two to three years because he's too raw of a prospect. His footwork is horrible and his accuracy is questionable at times. He has a very high upside if he properly trains with a good coach, but he he also has the highest bust potential out of the QBs in this draft. Nothing wrong with sitting for year or multiple years. Some of the greatest QBs waited on the bench before they got their chance(Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers).
Drake Maye just doesn't have what it takes to be as good of a player as Dak. He lacks pocket presence and the ability to make big time throws when the pocket collapses. It is almost like he shrivels up in fear every time there is a decent amount of pressure on a play. Sure, he has a big arm, but that is about it. I don't see him ever being on Dak's level.
