Use ground egg shell with your salt for both GH and KH. I use the Salty Shrimp KH/GH with 5 gallon jugs of RO water. Its cost effective because I have deep sand substrate over dirt, planted tanks and rarely do water changes.
@@AQUAPROS I was out and about with the wife at I think home goods when I passed by one grabbed it and brought it home. I crush up the adults flake foods or pellets with it and store it in an old fish food container. Now I don't have to wake up earlier to thaw frozen foods out and just add a dab of crushed flake in.When I get home at night I can thaw some food out and take my time and relax with them.
@@shannarafryer3111 that never crossed my mind. I use one for grinding up shellac flakes. Does a fantastic job. I'm guessing flakes of fish food would be almost the same thing. Good idea!!
Loving that you are so into the Medaka fish now, they really are incredible fish. Mine are still outside in their various tubs here in the UK but I will bring them inside at some point soon, they are still enjoying the Autumn sunshine.
@@AQUAPROS they could cope with pretty much most of the winter here but the last couple of years the temps have dropped right down and the tubs would freeze and I would be concerned the whole tub could freeze. It’s no bother to move the tubs into my conservatory, I still keep it pretty cold in there so the Medaka still get their cold months but without me having to worry about losing them.
When your running multiple sponge filters off one pump make sure all the tubeing is the same length, “even if it means some are extra long” having a 2” tube for the sponge closest to the pump and one 4-5” away will definitely make it hard to balance the airflow.
To save your dino you could paint on a layer of resin or if not patient you could get some clear spray on acrylic to lacquer it with. Both are UV protective and waterproof.
Ya so I sprayed a thin layer of matte clear enamal already, problem is the areas that are already chipping seem unaffected.... feel like my only option now is to coat it (paint on) a thick layer of polyurathane or something????
I would use clear liquid latex instead of resin or epoxy. As these will degrade over time. the latex will/may yellow over time, but the Raptor is green, so it would add a cool effect.@@AQUAPROS
Your rice fish set up looks good. I have 6 orange rice fish. This summer I will collect any eggs. I really enjoy them. They look back at me, come to the front of the tank and have blue eyes. I do weekly water changes.
Thank you so mucb for aharing your aource for rice fish! Where i am most people only have one type and I've been looking for more variety. Think i might add some in with some of my shrimp breeding tanks, i had a few babies that got transferred over to my shrimp tanks with some floating plants as well. They fed on a lot of the planaria, and seed shrimp when they were large enough to do so but luckily didnt bother any of my baby shrimp! Going to try it again i think with some adults and see how it goes!
Thats tight! Jacksons Medakas are all super high quality, hes one of the only *legal* importers of rare Medaka from Japan. Great source for some unique fish 😎🫡 def check out his IG and the club he runs 😁
Krylon clear coat for the raptor, I use it on my outside decor and many other things. It comes in a spray can super easy to use, spray in an airy place and do a couple coats every 20 minutes. You can even coat it with modpodge before the krylon but let it dry real good. Good luck!

Is there any real concern with budding up the rimless tanks next to each other? I've heard anecdotal stories about tanks cracking because of slight movement/bumping glass on glass.
I use adjustable pepper grinders, toss in a mix of foods, and adjust the fineness of the grind as you need. Many come with caps so you grind in the cap to see and control how much you feed. =) They sit on a shelf and look nice plus you can slap some stickers on them too. I got one at work with a @LegitFishFood sticker on it. =)
Its great to see everyone looking so good and happy. With the yokazura when kept in a clear or white container they will have the look you showed here, silvery with the silver/muti color lame but if kept in a dark color container like black they will turn a black color and their lame will be more purple (how they got the name). It happens almost instantly. Would be a cool experiment to try. Also you were right with the medaka fry call. I had to laugh when the graphic came up because thats what i was saying to myself. Hahaha Looking great brother. Keep up the good work. 💪💪💪
I've heard people say that tanks can crack if you put them right against each other. Could be just a baseless rumour but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

@@nathananderton8546does your ph drop after moths with your planted tank? Mine went from 7.8- 5.5 In 4 months. Do you know why?
Mortar and pestle makes making baby food way easier. Toss a bunch in and grind it to dust and dump into a container.
