- Never tried Dairy Queen hot food before, so on one of my last days in Seattle, went on a fast food burger tour. Started out at Five Guys, then went to Dairy Queen and even went to Red Robbin...not impressed

Mikey approximately consumes 5 times the amount of food as mine, so his life is at least 5 times happier than mine. I'm so jealous.

I made the mistake of ordering 3 large fries for my wife, kid and I at five guys. We literally got a whole bagful of fries🤦♂️ it was our first time at five guys also

Working at DQ, I see people spend upwards of 30-50 dollars for a family. Then again they do usually want ice cream haha so I suppose that's gotten be taken into account.
Burgers are not really that great, not bad but not great.

Five Guys doesn't season their patties at all. Its literally just boxes of ground beef smashed into patties and cooked on a flat grill. Source: am a former Five Guys employee
That's shocking but believable. The quality of the beef is pretty noticeable so has to be that.
I agree... they dont know what toppings you will get, and since its free they think you will get a lot, hence they cant flavor the beef one way or the other....it might not be compatible with your toppings.
GrownUpGaming it’s cool that they let you choose any toppings u want but i can’t remember if it’s for free or you pay extra after a certain point 🤔
Doesn't matter what you get they should be seasoned with salt and pepper in my opinion, but mad respect, they still do their thing and I'm not mad about that

I remember eating there as a kid a lot. Dairy queen burgers were always under rated. The best thing you have to try is a chocolate dipped cone!
The Flamethrower is my favourite burger at Dairy Queen.

In the Seattle east side area, best burgers are at Tipsy Cow in Redmond.
Maybe it was the topping for the five guys? Grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, pickles, ketchup and hot sauce? To each their own but that combo seems a bit bizarre lol

I gotta say, Five Guys is totally hit or miss depending on the line cooks that are there when you go. The burgers stopped being worth the price to me due to inconsistency. However, it is one of two places I will eat a hot dog, and I hate hot dogs.

Hate to say it but cheese or no, Five Guys is a mediocre burger propped up by decent fries in huge servings
The taste of the burger is the fault of the customer. The ingredients he got clashed with each other, that's all.

I've never had a bad sandwich at Five Guys, and I like their regular fries with malt vinegar. My other favorite burger is at our local diner- burger, onions, bacon, and crab dip made with Maryland blue crab.
Something my friends and I said for years. Go to an In-N-Out grab a burger, run to 5 Guys for the fries. A perfect meal right there. If you need a dessert, Dairy Queen Blizzards are pretty good but I'd settle for the Wendy's Frosty.

At Red Robin’s the “tavern burgers” are where it’s at. They’re smashed burgers style so it’s not a dried hockey puck and they’re like half the price as the regular burgers. They are smaller but a much better burger when it comes to taste and quality. 👌

All I craved while pregnant was Dairy Queen burgers and cheese fries!! In Texas DQ has their own slogan; “DQ - that’s what I like about Texas” lol it’s a big deal here in our small towns where other fast food chains have not yet established. Food Life Hack: Ask for an extra bun whenever you get a double patty burger. 9/10 they wont charge you for the extra bun, and now you have two burgers. One for now one for later. :)

best thing about five guys is their fries and how they absolutely give you PLENTY i go for the seasoned fries every time!! idek what their plain fries taste like 😂 a shame five guys is a bit on the expensive side so i have it very rarely
Mike, whenever you get to the midwest next, you should do a Culver's review. They have outstanding burgers, and would fall into the higher end, fast food catagory.

When I was a kid Dairy Queen legit had good burgers in canada.
Nowdays they literally precook them, build the burger while the patty is cold, wrap it up, then microwave it. I watched them make my burger this way. never going back there for a burger again.

I worked at Dairy Queen when I was a teen and they grilled all the burgers, they didn't cook them on a flat top so it gave them that grilled flavor. Not sure if they still do that but if you said it reminded you of BK I assume they do. I'm not a huge fan of Five Guys burgers unless they have a ton of toppings on it. Their hot dogs though... I order those from them more than the burgers. I get the hotdog with bacon, onion, relish, ketchup, mustard and sometimes cheese. So good! Been a few years since I got one though.

I worked at dairy queen the past summer and I worked in chill so I can't say for certain but I'm pretty sure they grill them

Dairy Queen's been around forever, long before Burger King!! As kids we loved their burgers because of the flame-broiled flavor! And I think they put mayo & shredded lettuce on them. Most other burgers had ketchup or mustard!!!

I just got a regular cheese burger from my local DQ today. It was a meat patty, pickle, ketchup and mustard. For $2.98! I felt like asking them if they knew all their competition sells their basic cheese burgers for $1.99 or less.

I'd take 5 guys over in n out any day. But when I visit my family in cali I feel like it's a requirement to get in n out since there's none on the east coast
The issue with 5 guys is that you can easily drop $20 on yourself. $20 is a lot for fast food. At that point I would rather drive to Vegas and have Ramsey Burger
