Some great pickups, David. I was able to pick up Stagg 24B ($70), EH Taylor Single Barrel ($82), and Eagle Rare 1.75L ($62) at Total Wine. It was a right place, right time sort of thing, as the bottles were being put out on the shelves. Also, note that in California, you do not need to be a member of Costco or Sam's Club to purchase alcohol there. Under California law, alcohol sales to the general public cannot be predicated upon or require a membership.
Hey Mike! That's a great haul from total wine 👍 I'm aware of the Costco alcohol rule but they make it a hassle to do so... so it's just not worth it anymore for me 😆 Have a wonderful weekend and cheers ~
I bought a couple of bottles that you passed on. And, a manager of a store gave me his bottle of Stagg from home for free for a help I provided for him. It was great.
I just checked Google maps and it's not too far. Maybe we can arrange a day 😆. My email is in the description of my videos or my channel page on TH-cam and let me know your store! Have a fantastic weekend and cheers ~
I've found some real treasures at grocery stores in the past and I've heard some complaints about E C Full Proof but liked it enough to go back to my store and buy the last one on the shelf.
Hey Frank! I haven't found a bad Elijah Craig barrel proof batch yet! Some might be better than others but all are delicious ~ Have a wonderful Veterans day and cheers ~
Dave V is one of the most generous people in the whiskey tube world. I just happen to look out and pick up a bottle of that Russell’s 15 yesterday when Pennsylvania dropped it and I have to say it is one of the best bottles out there this year. Cheers, David.🥃
Hey Danny! I'm sure I have said like that more than once 🤣 Can't wait to open my little book infinite 😆 Have a fantastic weekend and cheers my friend ~
Dave IS a stud!! Cheers, my friend. Great video!! I passed on the K&L Rare Character pick and a Michter’s Toasted Barrel Bourbon (still on Hi-Proof’s website).
Have you had Hardin’s Creek Jacob’s Well batch 2? (211 months) If not I highly recommend looking for one before they dry up. I just had one shipped from Cali, so I think they’re still out there atm.
Hi David Congrats on Russell's 15. This month Passed on Elijah craig 18 and Midwinter Nights dram $$$ at total wine Missed weller cypb and eagle rare 1.75l at albertsons. by a few hours. And was able to purchase Stagg 24b and elmer t lee at albertson for $67 and $65.🎉
Nice haul David. I just missed out on the RR15 b/c PA F’d up and priced it at the RR10 price so even though was in the store when it dropped could not buy it and some stores (knowing it was the fair thing to do) took names and reserved bottles and others, like mine, didn’t care and just said it will be for sale whenever state fixes price issue.
For Oct, it was my bday at the end of the month. My wife surprised me with a StaggJr15. I picked up a 2019 Michter 10yr Bourbon, Michters BS Rye, WT12 brought back from Japan. And a few store pick from my friends store 4R BS and OFSBBS. Great haul, cheers.
Wow! That's a great haul my friend! Once you have a pour, let me know how you like them! Especially the stagg 15 and michters 10 year bourbon 2019. Have a fantastic weekend and cheers ~
Honestly that's a great price and I would have purchased it for that as well! 😆 Once you have a pour, let me know if it's worth the hype! Have a wonderful weekend and cheers ~
Nice haul! Over the last three weeks I picked up the following. Booker’s Reserve $94 The Infinite $120 New Riff 8yr rye $65 New Riff 8yr $65 Russell’s 15yr $320 Coy Hill $95 Blue Run Emerald $82 Knob Creek 18yr $130 Booker’s 2024-03 $73 Weller CYPB $45 EH Taylor SB $85 O Forester SB $75 Some prices were from my store owner friend. I was one person behind from getting a Birthday bourbon at Costco for $145 Favorite is the Russell’s 15yr Cheers!
Grab the ECBP and love it. My very first c-batch. Great flex with the Russell's 15! One of these days I'll hit the grand reserve status at total wine (just buy the wife more champagne). Had a pour of the Cellar age at MM and it was nice. I just picked up Olk Elk infinity, cigar and rum finished rye from K&L for 40/30/20 each. All three were the insider email price specials. I think retail for all three is about $380. Going to really enjoy all three.
I would love a video comparing the different pipe dreams, as someone who was really disappointed with the regular pipe dream as I felt it was too watery, I'd love to see a review of the 101 as I think it would be a huge improvement.
Great pickups! Have not seen Pipe Dream 101. I would jump all over it. I also passed on the Remus Babe Ruth. Cheapest I have seen Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged 2024 is $400. 🥃
Hey Dave! I'm sure you'll find those at msrp or close to it, but if not, you know what to do 😆 (just let me know). Thanks again Dave for all you do for our community and take care my friend ~
Just wanted to say that your review of K Luke was spot on. I picked up a bottle of the toasted rye on the cheap and was underwhelmed. Absolutely no toasted flavoring came through. Just a regular non age stated rye with decent flavors. Firmly in the ok but not great category. Lesson learned
Hey Billy! The toasted rye is really for people who really like that profile but I would definitely recommend the K.Luke Bourbon if you get a chance as those are just delicious! Have a fantastic weekend and cheers ~
Great scores! In your opinion, what ryes would be really close to the michters barrel strength? I can’t find it anywhere around me but tried a sample and loved it.
Honestly, not many ryes can do what michters barrel strength rye can do with its low barrel entry proof and low proof, yet full of flavor and finish. Closest I can think of is WhistlePig 15 year or bulliet 12 year rye. Lower proof yet with some oak and a good finish. Hope this helps and have a fantastic weekend!
@@WhiskeyBank agreed. I’m more in the bourbon drinker ryes and I have 2 JDSBBP which are a very close second albeit a different profile but at 134 it’s a little harder sipping than the 107. Not sure how they get it so dark, rich and sweet but whatever they’re doing it’s awesome.
Hey David, Glad to hear you got the Cellar Aged you were looking for. I'm sure it is great (for a wheater lol) ! Some of the bottles you passed on might well be absolutely delicious but $800 + ? I just won't do it. But I don't think I'm missing out on anything because there are sooo many great pours at a reasonable price. I'll stay in my lane. You're quite welcome for the Lost recipe bottle. I could not believe that it would have that much mocha on the finish... hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. D
Hey Dana! Super appreciate the Maker's Mark and all your support. Hopefully the giveaway was enough to "pay it forward" for your generosity 🙏 Have a fantastic weekend and take care my friend!

The stores that had the OFBB and EHTBP Rye are on crack! Looks like you got a couple nice gift bottles! ECBP C924 I'm on the lookout for. B524 is still floating around in my area funny enough but B524 is a solid batch! That Russell's Reserve 15 is the real prize! Stinks that Total Wine had it marked up that much for a lottery buy. I haven't been picking up much lately. Uncle Nearest Single Barrel has been one of my most recent gem finds. Uncle Nearest Single Barrel is the TRUTH! I was certainly surprised when I tried that one! A buddy of mine got me a bottle of New Riff Balboa Rye for my birthday last month! I tried that at his place one time and I like it so much I went looking for it but I hadn't been able to find one.
I'm sure you'll be able to find the ECBP C924 soon and that uncle nearest single barrel I heard was fantastic! That was a nice gift you you got for your birthday (happy late birthday 🎂)! Have a fantastic weekend and cheers ~
I was very fortunate to get Parker at MSRP ($170) and 4RLE ($220). They were raining in VA ABC. Also, could score Michter 10yr Rye ($200) from VA ABC. Got MNDW Dram act 12 found in Costco ($129.99) and LB Infinite $159.99 from Costco again. Couldn't pass those lol. RR15 was the one I had to pay 2ndary - $400. I also won Found North Batch 10. So far, my #1 among this is surprisingly Found North bath 10.
Those are some amazing bottles you found and for you to say you enjoyed the FN10 more than any of those is more surprising. It seems I'll need to find a pour of that soon! Super appreciate your comment and the insight! Have a wonderful weekend and cheers ~
@WhiskeyBank rr15 kicks your nose right in front. But fn b10 seems deeper darker and lingering taste like liver blow. Very different profile. Could also taste some owa like taste note too. I love them both. But somehow I was looking for 2nd bottle in online store. $399 I paid for rr15 probably made me look for FN b10 over rr15 lol
The Hi Proof TKO is so good. Trying to not go through it too fast. I wanted the Cypress craft Redwood pick but man 160 bucks for a 8.5 year is just too steep for me
Hey Matt! I agree with your assessment on the Haystack. It'll be featured in my November video but I also passed on that due to the price. I can't keep spending $150+ on bottles I have no idea how good it is. Hopefully prices will come down on those but it's sold out so I doubt it 😕. Have a wonderful weekend and cheers ~
David I wish I had your whiskey bank balance, wow, that's a lot of high end whiskey, congrats. Slow month for me, I got a James E. Pepper decanter, Bardstown Origin high rye, Makers CS, and WT 101.
Slow month but some solid ones for you 😆 i seem to do a little too much hunting. It might be time for me to slow down a bit and enjoy what I have. I say this and will go out again tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣 Have a fantastic weekend and cheers ~
@@WhiskeyBank Had a great weekend so far, went to Eugene for Oregon Ducks football, woke up and hit the liquor store right next to hotel, scored my 1st ever ECBP and Larceny BP, both C924's, thanks David
@WhiskeyBank the shipping is 38 for 4 bottles. So add 9.50 per bottle. No big deal. So the bundle would be 263.50 for the Russell's 15 and 64.50 for the 10 years. Not a big overcharge when you think about it.
Hey David, I just recently hit Grand reserve status at total wine, how do you know if your name is in the lottery? The guy at the store didn’t know how to explain it me. Keep up the great work!!!
